:tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid: I haven't booked the flight yet and my accommodation is of the no pre-payment and free cancellation type so I can pull the plug anytime. (Please tell me if I should pull the plug. :13877886:)

I don't think you'll find any help with this on the forum, we are all hopeless here :dpooh: *insert noises of crying wallets*

Horrible as in just super sleepy... right?  You're scaring me... :13877886:

Well, it depends. The longest trip I've done is Rome-New York, with rest in Moscow and 30 hours in an airport total. At first I was super. Then, after 3 days, I had a major fever crash. So... jet lag depends on the individual, probably xD

Oh, that would explain my sickness these days... I'm in major Yuzuru withdrawal syndrome fever crash.

Geezus... :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid: With me, I tend to get the worst case of whatevers going so I guess I should just expect to be wrecked for the whole competition if I go.

Honestly? Your trip is kinda extreme and hardcore :tumblr_inline_ncmiffG34Z1rpglid: But like if you don't have tickets for any other competition and you want to see him live, go for it. Some people say that he is going to retire after Olympic, some say after 2018 (but like I really hope not). So go for it as this could be your last chance. Gotta live on the edge! :tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid: Only wait with the payment until it's 100% confirmed Yuzuru is going to be there and you'll be fine! :10742289:

No way will I pay for anything until Yuzu is confirmed!

I think maybe I should consider giving up on this dream. Olympic prices are ridiculous (and who can even find FS tickets? And a week of overpriced accommodation between FS and gala? C'mon, Korea!) even though that would be much, much easier. I thought Worlds was impossible from the beginning but being stuck in Japan after everything I went through to see him at NHK, it felt like the only way out of the hideous swamp of sadness was to throw myself into going to Milan. But if it's going to take so long to get over jetlag... :tumblr_inline_n18qr5AMus1qid2nw:

Well... I suppose I'll at least have a few more months to prepare myself to go through the grieving process again should I abandon ship! That or endear myself to a rich old person, have them change their will... the rest.

Horrible as in just super sleepy... right?  You're scaring me... :13877886: Perhaps I should have gone through lottery hell one more time for Nationals (or become instantly wealthy for Olympics.) I'm starting to think pursuing nama-Yuzu might be just a liiiittle bit crazy. Maybe NHK was a sign from the universe to give up rather than go double or nothing... but he's that good live that this is worth it, right? I'm not being insane? Honest, unbiased, non-fanyu opinions needed! ( I'm asking in the wrong place.)

I’m sure it will be suuuper worth it!!! And sorry to break it to you but, yes, you are insane. We all are, if that makes you feel better

Well... the jet lag experience depends on the person I think.

I found that traveling east (+8 hours) leaves me sleepy but unable to sleep and unable to eat for a few days and traveling back west (-8 hours) leaves me sleeping for 3 days straight. Also makes me grumpy and emotionally numb both ways.

But you won’t know how it is for you until you try, probably. I think I‘m one of the worse cases...

I honestly think, if anything, Yuzu skipping NHK and GPF has increased our chances of seeing Yuzu in Milan. Ofc I‘m not taking it for granted, tho....

I can’t guarantee that in the presence of Yuzu tho....

I think jetlag depends from person to person, so it's hard to say... admittedly, I'm also not sure if I've ever been really jetlagged... tired from travel, yes, but was it actual jetlag... When I arrive somewhere - Japan usually, as that's my main long distance trip - I'm energized out of necessity. Airport procedures, navigating my way to the hotel etc. Then I usually keep busy until it's night and I'm usually tired enough to sleep at a normal local hour. I force myself to keep to local hours, too. But those are kind of standard advice ^_^; For me, being on my own and having to handle all the details is enough to keep me alert, and if that continues throughout the trip, then I simply don't have time to crash. When I return home, I usually fall apart, because I don't have to do that anymore and I let my guard down ^^; (I've also experienced 3 hour flights to Brussels that left me completely drained - with just one hour time difference. But again, my parents were in Brussels then, so again, guards down.) It might also be West vs East I guess... I've been to the US once, but I was already sick with a cold, so I don't think it's very representative.

Your trip is insane, by normal standards, I guess, but I've had times when 27 hours elapsed between leaving hotel room and arriving home, so I'm not really one to say. Insane is also relative, really ^_^. The question is whether it's worth it to you. I think waiting until he's confirmed is probably the safest and then take it from there. :snpeace:

Tbh, this year, his goal was to defend his GPF, his Olympic and his World title. Since he failed to do the first, you can bet he will fight with his teeth to defend the other two.

The only chance we won't see him in Milan is if he's injured and/or sick with influence or something. If he's healthy, and of course everybody hopes that he is, he will go 100%. He's not the kind of Athlete to willingly miss a World Championship unless he cannot attend.

Also it means that the chance that he burns out after Olys is lower

I don‘t want to take his injury-freeness for granted but, yes, unless health is holding him back he‘ll be there

Keeping busy especially in short trips works in combating jetlag for me.. I tire myself during the day and crash at night so I am usually fine. I even traveled to a conference in another country with 10 hours difference and managed to stay awake during all presentations, take notes, and write daily reports to my supervisor. When I returned I needed about three days to recover and go back to my usual routine.

One thing I found useful was taking a nap during the flight to and from my destination, it helped me stay awake until night time and not go to sleep too early, which would totally mess up my sleep cycle.
