Thanks, my tickets look like this on the back so I'm going to try sending them an email to check. I've definitely paid more than the full-price child ticket for the same seats though.

Hmm... This is strange... I got Intero Natale  tickets and I have ticketone info (looks like ads) next to the instructions 

I just booked an AirBnB for 5 people and we only have 4 people. If anyone wants a very budget option, let me know! It's 26 minutes away from the rink by subway. about 3 minutes walking in total, very close to subway station.

What's the deal with the open practices on the 19th-20th? Are the men likely to appear? Or does anyone know around when they'd be likely to release the schedule?

You will have practice groups (especially on Monday) without a single skater on the ice or just one, but also with all six skaters. It really just depends on which skaters are already there. And/or awake enough after a possible jetlag. ;-)

I think the Japanese skaters are often present already.

 

Schedule for the practices... a week or two before competition, maybe? I don’t remember exactly from Helsinki, someone else probably knows how many days before. But of course that won’t tell you anything about which skaters decide to show up.

If Hanyu's going to Milan, I'd think chances of him being present at both Monday and Tuesday practices are 95 %. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he usually, like, always there? So that's probably worth it. You could easily combine it with visiting the city. I know I am.

Eeeek. Well I’ll be there on those dates anyway because I’m putting aside some jet lag recovery time. I wonder if I should buy tickets now.  I’m still praying someone will sell me their arena seats, though. 

 

I know it’s allocated seating but most videos seem to show a lot of empty seats during practice so I wonder if I’d be able to sneak down a few rows...

I'm sure it'll be fine during practices. There aren't that many people present on Monday and Tuesday. People always flock to the lower parts of the hall when he's on the ice. As long as you're not sitting in a person's seat with that person actually being there, no worries.

 

edit: I just looked at my photos/videos of Monday, Tuesday, and even Wednesday practices in Helsinki, and there was a gazillion space everywhere. Even in the lower rows everywhere.

Are you kidding? That's what gets us through the rest of the year, the Looking-Forward-to-the-Event antici.........pation! (okay, a a bit of worrying now and then) That's what you pay the big bucks for, being able to have a sense of euphoria for the 11.75 months of the year that you're not there. The actual event is just the icing on the cake.

Nonono, I’m just fearing the worst again and we haven’t seen him in ages and I feel like I’m counting chickens. These past 12 months have been nothing but waiting to see him with my own eyes. I’m trying very hard not to get my hopes up just in case but it’s difficult today.

Ah, yeah... hope it works out for you!  I've seen him at three major competitions, all of which he won, so can't say I haven't had my share of good fortune. But since three time wasn't the bad charm, I'm assuming the fourth time won't be, either, and things will somehow all work out fine. ;-)

Sure would be nice if we got some actual "news" news on his condition, though. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that with Yuzu, they really aren't keen on sharing anything with the world. I understand why, but that doesn't make it less frustrating, the not-knowing.

5 weeks left until he reappears from the ninja dojo. It seems like a lifetime already.
