Or not, it would probably have been mentioned🤔. Well, if one skates without a physical coach for such a long time, it maybe could disturbe the self build routine....Even if I personally would have found it nice to see someone sitting with him in the kiss and cry, I will go with "in Yuzu we trust". Has there ever been a skater willingly without a coach at such a big event?

February 4, 20224 yr I read a tweet from someone who had been listening to Channel 1 commentary (Russia) - Yags was talking about Yuzuru retiring (not sure of the context), and Evgenia was praising Nathan's SP as the best short programme in FS history, The OP was really upset and was concerned what Evgenia's comments about Yuzuru's programme and skating might be - I think they are someone who likes Evgenia a lot maybe so they felt very upset. I can't believe how (ex) competitive skaters do this - they have no power when they compete it would seem, then when they stop competing they just seem to get pulled into whatever the "trend" might be at the time. Javi has said in recent interview how Yuzu and he are best friends, yet prior to and after retirement he was saying he couldn't consider him a friend but that he was friendly. It's not a good look Javi! It seems there is an ulterior motive when things like this are said. Japan is a money maker for retired skaters of course....maybe they should just do their own shows in Japan with their own skaters!! They certainly have lots and lots of talent to pick from. (I'm just feeling a bit mean, and let down....I'm big enough and old enough not to be surprised, but I am, especially with Javi "too kind to be a competitor" Fernandez - dissing Shoma when he skated so beautifully today and was the best out there imo, and gushing about N who is actually painful to watch for many people and who admits artistry is not his strength!) 48 PCS - there is only a point to play with in reality for Yuzuru - that will not give him the advantage he needs (though GOE might - again he is going to have to be perfect, such pressure) EDIT: Plushy Jeff Shae and Stephane can go to Japan ice shows tho....!! and Katya

February 4, 20224 yr This news is really disappointing. I expected some, but not Javi. Being alone at K&C... Well I wish there was someone with him, but if he decided it was like that I can understand, after all in those two years he was his own trainer and was taming the beast 4A. You are not alone in this fight Yuzu. We are with you and we are already proud of everything you have built so far. Do whatever you need to do. We are always supporting you. You can do it. You can! GANBATE!!!

Super disappointing. Yuzu has been pushed to retiring since 2019 and him going after 4A sure has made a lot of them upset. I'm not surprised that he wants to go alone. He knows the best for himself and there is a lot we don't know about his situation so all the best Yuzu. I trust him. I doubt I will watch FS after Olympics anymore. If this is how the best ever skater is treated by majority of them, fck them all. No wonder this sport is going downhill.

No wonder this sport is going downhill. you know, i agree with you. it's extremely disappointing to see lack of integrity which is obvious to anyone who bothers to follow even a millimetre beyond casual. looks like Yuzu is the wisest of all - being a hermit and staying out of all these so called "establishments"

Stick to each other's team bubble is safer. Though if it's just this reason, he could easily explain to Brian who doesn't seem to know the reason. I was going to say at least there is coach Pooh then I remember, argh!, cannot bring Pooh-san!
February 4, 20224 yr These retired skaters will only praise him when its convenience for them like when they want to be invited to Japan for ice shows. Now because of covid restriction and no more international skaters invited they are surely showing their true colours

What all these people don't seem to realize (or perhaps they do know it very well and are pissed off by it), is that Yuzu is basically the one who's keeping figure skating alive. Once he leaves, the sport will be dead. When it just turns into ugly, bad jump competitions, who will want to watch it? Certainly not people who actually enjoy figure skating just because it is so much more than just jumps (especially bad ones).
