US team situation is funny right now (if I can say so with so many COVID cases) because of team event.

Because the two disciplines that will most change skaters between SP and FP will be men (because so close to individual event) and ice dance. So it looks like Mariah will do both.😂

why ice dance?

i'm not sure if mariah doing both events will help them at all. but do they have a chance to get anything other than silver anyway, the Russians are so far ahead and whoever's getting 3rd isn't even certain

Because they have two very strong teams. I'm not 100% sure tbh, but if they will split ladies between Mariah and Karen, then it's because Mariah is a flop and they don't trust her. Otoh, Karen and her URs aren't that much safer choice either.

On the yet another hand, it will be funny if they don't split ice dance because of all the meltdown it will cause. :P

Ice dance is so boring right now. I crave chaos.

Anyone watching the men.  Illia had a really good set.  Jason absolutely sensational.

I agree. I totally adored Jasons phenomenal program and Illia was interesting to see.

I just tuned in for Jason, he was brilliant! Obviously overscored for Nationals, but he did really well. Especially considering it took him 33 hours to make it to Nashville, lol. What a beast.

And also Camden landing alll his jumps - yeah.

Can't quite believe it but he did so good.

Artur.   Not my cup of tea.  Seems stiff 'n a bit wild.  Fell on 4L then two foot stumbled out of his 3Lz +3F.

Honestly, if US next Nathan, aka Malinin, actually gets send to Olympics over Jason... Then I swear I'm not watching anything from Men's comp other than Yuzu.

Don't even think that statement!!!!

Jimmy bit on the heavy side for a swan but good set especially the jumps.

Yaroslav:  Well that was fun.  Got the crowd on his side very early on.  Some of the jumps a bit heavy on the landings but great set.  Standing ovation from crowd.

NC...115 +   no surprise at Nats. Over 20 pts for the 2nd half 4lz/3t. It was landed at a stand still, but that's quite the feat, tbh. It was a well skated program, but that barely average 3A gets me every time. And tara/Johnny... "he's the Michael Jordan of our sport. " that's too much. Wait until he gets an Olympic medal before you stick on that label, guys.

Vincent. His quads were the best I've seen from him, he's worked on that! His 4lz/3t scored higher than Nathan's even... despite being at the start. Strong skate from him... 112+.

Love Nats scoring!!!
