He skated lights out.  It's the lack of quads.

Idk why but I'm finding it strange the men are all skating so well considering the circumstances. The women were wrecked by COVID issues leading to bad performances yet the men are fine? What gives? Not to mention how apparently Tara and Johnny are completely dismissing the women's Olympic medal chances which really isn't fair to do at nationals. It may be true, but it's still their time to shine.

 

There's also a shallow (bad) side of myself hoping the men (minus Jason oc) bomb tomorrow to make the more obvious choice of the OG team (Nathan, Vincent, and Jason). I don't want Malinin to sweep in. 

 

I also hate how the US will switch its narrative so quickly to fit its advantage (in 2010 it was all about Evans "artistry" in 2018 & 2022 its about Nathan being the "quad king"). 

The commentary again is (unsurprisingly) annoying eg. saying Vincent broke Nathan's winning streak but never mentioning Shoma who also beat him...saying Nathan is the best in the world technically and artistically etc etc ad nauseum

Still, despite the annoying commentary, I must say the men did well in this short programme....

Didnt watch it. but i just find that Nathan (and many other skaters) seems to peak around Dec. Its an interesting stat. If I recall correctly, Nathan usually did the worst during his first two gp and then peaked around gpf and usnats. He also did really well whenever he skated against Yuzu as well. He used to bomb under pressure pre pyeongchang but for the past few seasons it feels like he thrived under it. i guess the scoring brought him confidance and having Yuzu at the rink helps balance out the pressure since the limelight would always be on Yuzu. But I also feel like Yuzu tends to bring out the best in others.

 

im not surprised about the score i mean he scored 113+ a few seasons ago. I guess every fed is trying to go all out with the scores to influence olympic panel as much as they can. olympic is usually an opportunity for skaters to break records as well so if Nathan does well he def would break Yuzu's sp record and even his own fs/total record. 

That competition was really good. If you take away the predictable high scoring, and just enjoyed these guys doing their best, well, they brought it. I enjoyed it. So nice to see success and joy, rather than disappointments. I kept turning the channel away from Canadian Nats, this was much better. 

Not surprising scoring, but... yeah, can't help that it makes me stop enjoying it, I don't know why I even bother? At least tomorrow I'm busy and can't watch and do it to myself, lol

He was wonderful.   Must admit tonight he was my star and Yaroslav who was just fantastic.

Yuzu's got that 4F to show off yet...wonder if (glorious)4S will be replaced by 4F to bump up BV?? (he tried the 4F in LMEY in place of 4S).  Looking at this lot with their Lutzes galore, I wonder if he will have to make that change realistically?? (I love the Sal there though, it's so beautiful...)

No he won't. And if you mean at MOI, it was 3F, just overrotated.

Oooh my ranking just changed to 4A!!! It's a good omen!!

Oh OK. How are you so certain about this can I ask? I always wonder aloud about stuff, but I notice how definite other satellites are about things relating to Yuzuru's programmes, is it something he has said, or something you know just from experience of FS and/or being a fan?
