We all know he is polite. Whether he meant to hint to us to stop being angry or not, I'm not sure. Maybe, maybe not. I can deal with judging nonsense but I think ISU this time carried things a bit too far with the red carpet and fan festival amid the current Coronavirus situation despite fans' concern. Oh well, thankfully it's all over.

I didn't really mean it like he hinted we should stop being angry. It's hard to explain, I see it more as acknowledging our anger, but also like "well, it's over, don't waste anymore energy on it" sort of pacifying? I think I'm explaining it wrongly. But I got the same feeling from him insisting he loved competing and was happy to continue competing in FS after Saitama and again GPF. Like he knew fans were pissed off because of the judging and he probably has his own feelings about it, but at the end of the day a sort of "It's ok, don't worry, I'm still loving it." He seems to have a way of indirectly and discreetly addressing fan issues and perhaps trying to calm us, while also doing the usual polite thanking. I'm sure he's also aware some of his fans can at times get aggressive and step out of line, so maybe he feels that trying to discreetly calm the spirits might help before it gets to that. But of course, that's just my speculation.

In Japan (and I think not only, but also other Asian countries), all celebrities, including athletes, are expect to take responsibility for their fans, to some extent, like asking them to behave when they don't and such. And even if they weren't, I'm sure Yuzu would feel responsible for how his fans act anyway, because he's that sort of guy. So it makes sense to me that he would try to calm the spirits, even while not directly saying there are any spirits that need calming.

Oh no Toronto looks quite close to the New York State

I hope he stays safe.... He's got asthma too, can't be good :c

Apparently, specialists say asthma isn't an aggravating fact for COVID-19. It is a bit confusing, because you'd expect it to be, but I hope they're right. And anyway, Yuzu rarely goes anywhere that isn't TCC, so I think he should be fine, as long as he doesn't have to travel.

Strange, because mild to severe COVID causes inflammation & pneumonia that floods your alveoli, and I don't know his trigger for asthma but it's also basically an inflammatory disease on the airways of lungs. Maybe what they mean is that they affect different parts of the lungs?

I'm scared though, because both have to do with inflammation response, and I hope they really have nothing to do with each other

Edit: F https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325312 "Asthma does not directly cause pneumonia, but people with a history of chronic respiratory problems, such as asthma, could have a higher risk of developing pneumonia."

I guess we should be happy that he does not have to increase the chance of exposing himself to the virus. Lots of figure skaters, fans and staff from Europe in an enclosed arena for days, with possibility of asymptomatic viral shedding? Definitely recipe for disaster. Glad the Canadian government stepped in because ISU didn't seem like they wanted to shut it down. If this went ahead Yuzu would probably have to attend.

Also everyone who bought the gala tickets that got turned into an award show finally can get the refund lol

I'm a simple fanyu. I know that possibility of Yuzuru being last torch bearer is super small. And that people's health and safety is much more important. But if Olympics will be canceled (or even postponed, because it may be during fs season), I will be REALLY. SAD.

I suppose we have no ice shows this summer. Can Yuzu at least do some interviews or any video message would be good. I can't imagine not seeing him in next 6 months how cannnn *mental breakdown*

Btw besides his success this ss, Worlds cancelled means 2 things not achieved yet: a season when he competes in ALL possible comps after a long time (what a pity as he's not injured so far), and men's skater with most Worlds medals (possibly next ss).

If the situation is better in autumn there might be media day. No media day also means old programs I'm not sure I wanna see Ballad 5.0 and SEIMEI 4.0 :war:

There you go. I'm off for 20 hours and 9 new pages in the General Chat wtfhdkbfkmhohgdfh :embSwan:

It may sound a bit strange, but I'm so happy right now for so many reasons:

  1. It's such a relief that skaters, fans and officials don't have to risk their health in the face of recent events regarding the Corona virus. I would be really worried for everyone. I don't get why they waited so long with the cancelling, but better late than never, I'd say.
  2. It feels a bit like retributive justice for all those skaters who got robbed of a chance to compete at Worlds like Yan Han, Donovan Carrillo or Dasa Grm. I felt so sorry for them.
  3. NO. AWARD. CLOWNERY. This is a gift from heaven. There is something like a God after all.
  4. Yuzu finally gets the chance to finish a season injury-free with a lot of time to rest, prepare new programs and practice without disruptions. Imagine, how amazing the result will be.
  5. Yuzu is back on top of the world rankings where he belongs. It doesn't make up for all the robbery that happened in the past years, but hey. It's a start.

This is the first time that I'm totally chilled about the long drought, because I have the strong and positive feeling that it will be worth the wait!  :nod2:

It's true that facing the beginning of a long drought feels MUCH better when it's not forced by injury.

Interview after 2013-14 season when he won big 3:

He said about chance of competing after PC "half-half". Yet now he's still competing after achieving everything. He had many ideal chances to end his career in a brilliant note, but didn't do it. Never take that for granted.

Y'all are happy that Zu has more time for Nessie, but this means that possibility of Nessie at ACI is quite high.:tumblr_inline_mzx95p7TPv1r8msi5:

Silver lining - definitely more time for 4A practice.

I'm expecting all ice shows to cancel, if they have not announced cancellation yet.

So can we have our beauty blogger back during this drought?

Beauty blogger?

Do you mean, a thread here as a mock beauty blog, with his best photos, face, hair, figure, hands... and mock beauty/fitness advice and real observations? I should like it!

But wouldn't it be, sort of making too much of a "Yuzu doll" out of a real, awesome person?
