I am kinda lazy now, it's time for my skincare routine lol. But this is Yuzuru when his Flip was still meh, this was at JWC 2010, he got flat ! call for it): http://imgur.com/6CdF0gd You see his outside edge? And even if you do not look at his edge, you see his left leg was not straightened, this was when he's 15. That's the improvement. That straight leg even just for a half second means it's a Flip. Yuzuru does not have to be scared of his Flip edge now. One more thing, Yuzuru has NO pre-rotation in the Flip and Lutz, that's why it's possible for him to correct the edge in the Flip. Blade of Passion often complains that Yuzuru makes his Lutz too hard because he has ZERO pre-rotation. But actually, it's this Zero pre-rotation helps him to get ok Flip now. He pulls himself up too quick before the Flip slight inside edge can rock to the outside. wow this is such an insightful observation! indeed I had noticed how he leaves the ice really quick on his flip to avoid lipping, but didn't make the connection that it's due to good basic technique that allows him to correct his edge and @unicorn haha you're right it IS the exact opposite of prerotation only our alien from planet hanyu could attempt such a thing

Yeah, I read that article and I was appalled by it, honestly - her skaters are not given any right to be individuals with different issues, but they have to be pawns. Yeah, and she does sound bitter when she speaks about Yulia or Adian. And she misunderstands Yuzu quite badly, I think - he's not the type just to do what he's told to do. He'll question it all right... I'd translate the article, but I feel pretty sure that there will be a translation of it in FSUniverse soon enough. We just wait. I find it hard to go through that text, sorry. If no translation surfaces, I'll do it by and by. Honestly! I get that it is a business after all and her skating school needs results to support it, but if it's at the expense of her students (if she even regards them as such - maybe I should've used 'products'?) being stripped away of any identity and potential growth in maturity, then I just cannot agree with that method at all. It sounds morally wrong to me. Finely-tuned products her students may be, but that also means there's no differentiation between any of them, and it's really easy to discard of faulty models. This line of teaching does not care for the skater in ways I'd expect coaches to. But of course since her skaters are so successful (for now), I guess identity is overrated anyway, as the current figure skating system seems to favour judging more based on a checklist and less on aesthetics apparently We don't speak of her team's past failures of course, they were disposable prototypes sacrificed for a greater and it's finally bearing fruit, so all is good

Exactly! Did Evan Lysaek (sorry too lazy too google his name) ever become popular? Last time I checked there is a huge number of olympic winners that fans are ultimately just meh about. so winning gold does NOT mean popularity Winning gives you a number of followers, but the athlete has to have something also to attract many people like Yuzuru, he is not only a great athlete but he is also an inspiration and idol for many. His captivating personality, his mindset, everything. He is a real full package: talent,charisma, looks. He's got it all. I think that's why once you know about him you can't deny his existence, it attracts you like a magnet :love: OMG I've been backtracking and found out I made a serious typo in my previous comment that completely changes the meaning of my post :rofl2: I meant to say that winning is not everything, so there're more secrets behind popularity than that. so basically, everything you said bc you thought I meant different was the point I was trying to make lol

Honestly, that seems like the best compromise to me and with the right stamina he can adjust it to five in case he needs to because the lz opens up a door for him to experiment big time. And now with the news Shoma is trying out the 4Lz at shows, I think if he can get it, he'll include it which just raises the stakes further. I actually would LOVE to see Shoma trying out 3.25 Flutz in hope to get credit for 4lz. Too bad, Nathan and Boyang's fans will be outraged and it will be hilarious. I am sure Yuzuru will upgrade his layout. 100% certain about it. Well, meoima has given the verdict, everyone! Then I believe it too :grin: (You're the only one whose words I could take as gospel when it comes to prediction, meoima) :smile:

Yeah I could see where you're coming from. Problems need to be tackled from its roots. No amount of relocating can take away her inner demons if she holds onto them so strongly. Though the sudden change in her surroundings certainly does not scream much positive improvement for her condition either. I think she's quite a sensitive human being who may not respond too well to drastic measures, or at least not as much as how others would in similar situations.

so yuna was actually the first competing skater I became aware of (back when I was still heavily invested in K-pop and she made a splash in all Korean-related comms with her olympic gold). then fast forward to Yuri on Ice (yep I'm a weeb also :tongue: ) that prompted me to finally checking her programmes out. and surprise, surprise Yuzu's historic PW was suggested on the sidebar. it's been a downward spiral ever since lol Fun fact: I was browsing through Yuzu's comps and checking GP events when I saw another Japanese also winning GP medals. Yes I actually first heard of Shoma's name through Yuzu-related wiki pages! :rofl2: how lame is that! :rofl2:

For now it's only rumors because of one instagram picture... But that would be fantastic if it's true. I can only hope that they will choose good music! It it does come down to Alina being either Black Swan or White Swan, I definitely think she will be much comfortable with doing Black Swan and will rock it!
