  1. I see what you mean  The fabric's definitely a bit heavier and doesn't drape in the same way, but I think the gold cut-outs at the sides are what's contributing the most to changing the shape. It's never gonna fall in a straight line when it's got a triangle of different fabric and seams giving it more structure, hence the bunching. Case in point (you can really see it when he's not in motion): [image]http://imgur.com/VFl96Yu.jpg[/image] Wow your words make a lot of sense! I never knew how to properly express it, but I think you just gave a perfect description of the fabric situation and how the triangles give it more structure and contribute to a droopier shape
  2. imagine the uproar if he weren't :rofl2: Oh no I wouldn't go there :s_crazy: (there might have been a minor explosion here on this very website)
  3. That's why I have to disagree with our fellow fans who want Yuzu in sparkly all-black this year. Anyone can do that; we rely on him for color.
  4. Wow he looks incredible! (but I still wish the shirt's fabric material was a bit more similar to that of 1.0.. :silent: Here it looks so lax and sags a bit in minor places I wish it hadn't. I guess I just like proper lines a bit too much)
  5. x It's a relief to know Yuzu still has nice people supporting him around. Fighting a lone battle is never easy (which is why I have mad respect for Yuna)
  6. Yuzu's the only man appearing on both SP and FP's polls He's also totally gonna win both Oh that's a given as long as he has a chance to compete he will surely shine and emerge victorious

Omg yes that would be a lovely piece to skate to :s_thumbsup Though you can't really go wrong with Chopin anyway
  8. Wow they're on fire there! :goe: I also strongly believe they'll manage to get gold this time. Of course my prediction can only be as credible as the next guy's. But I still have very strong feeling in my gut that they will
  9. Yes, of all costumes Requiem probably was the most difficult to make. The only sad thing about this costume is that for me it is always associated with Boston, although it was the best perfomance. Same, I wish Requiem was given a chance to remain positive in people's memories. I know a lot of people stay away from that period altogether  too much devastation and sadness
  10. Just said this in the General chat thread, Yuzu's the only man appearing in both SP and FP's polls   He really is in a league of his own
  11. Yuzu's the only man appearing on both SP and FP's polls
  12. the black mesh covering his right arm is hypnotising  I get sucked into staring at the gradient situation leading to the pitch black gloves every time
  13. Figure skating is a spectator sport, and especially with television broadcast, you don't want the judging/scoring to take too long in coming so people don't stop watching at home. Hence not a really long time allowed to double check and change much of anything. @ anyanee: I love your avatar. That cat is judging all of us. So basically, figure skating should never become a judged sport? You have to sacrifice either fairness, or ratings? Imho people who can't wait for 2 whole minutes more might not be equipped to follow fs in the first place
  14. the shirt's colour is so subtle but vibrant! and it complements his skin tone so much imo. Chopin 2 is also lovely, but I do feel the light blue becomes a bit pale on the ice sometimes, and it washes out his face :silent:
  15. Can I just say sth superficial? I LOVE Zijun's bare shoulder and upper arms. Those collarbones are to die for (speaking from a woman's perspective) I think she has the most delicate figure in the field, she's slim but not scarily so (I'm always uncomfortable looking at Zhenya's ever thinner legs) And don't forget her face is pretty too! Ideally speaking, when she manages to fix all her skating weaknesses, I dare say she'll be the most beautiful and gorgeous lady on ice
  16. She looks stunning in red, as always
  17. Short answer: because it's ISU XD On slow motion you can see a cheated take off well enough, but let's say you called for an edge review a flip ( or a lutz) and you didn't call the cheated take off in real time. You get the slow motion to check the edge and you can see the jump is cheated (prerotation of 180° or more ) but you can't change your original call (no cheated jump) (Sorry for the off topic!) I think it's absurd how they have to judge so many things right on the spot. not everything can be observed at once on the first try, so at least allow them to correct wrong calls! Is that too much logic to ask?
  18. These are really cool and clever edits!! Kudos to the original makers! I've said it before and I'll say it again: there are so many talented people in our fandom :yay: :yay:
  19. Ok it might be because i'm at work and can't ogle but i fail to see the sin... Lol I might have been trained too hard by you bc I'm sitting here staring at the little bulge.. :rofl2:
  20. I love Requiem so much it pains me that it couldn't have a chance to me more popular, given the circumstances that Yuzu last skated it
  21. :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: Can I have more Yuzu-Nobu interactions please?? It's been a while since they were last publicly seen together :rofl2:
  22. All this coach talk reminds me, who has coach Abe Nanami come to teach after Yuzu's departure? Is she still even a coach? (Sorry I'm new at the scene) Part of the reason Yuzu could blossom so fruitfully under Borser is bc of Yuzu's solid techniques acquired with his previous coach, right? I think Brian has once said sth about being lucky that his students (Yuna, Yuzu etc.) all have adequate skills before coming to him. So why aren't more skaters reaching out for coach Nanami? Is there no one in Japan who could teach proper techniques??
  23. OMG I know it's a really innocent pic but a certain *little* detail means it probably should belong in Hydro's church imo
  24. Yeah it might be a tad bit early at this stage to judge how they approach the sport, especially when they still have some time in the future to adjust and improve. But a controversial win might not prove to be in favour of their future careers, which is why I don't think it's beneficial to any party, even if the youngsters themselves believe they're okay with it
