So where you gonna put him at ? Shoma and Yuzuru can' be at the same event, and Kolyada is lock for COR. Another option that could avoid is

Nathan : SA & TEB

Shoma :  COC &NHK

Kolyada : SC & COR

<-- In this case Yuzuru will get SC&COR. But Shoma have to do back to back event, I'm not sure he want it.

Why can't Yuzu and Shoma be at same event? Yuzu is not a world medalist...

I'm putting my money on Yuzu doing GP IF he is healed, and he'll be at NHK (w or w/out Shoma). How long has it been since he skated in Japan?? NHK '16 right? Missed 2 Nats...

Since I'm skipping ice dance (hurraaaay) I have time to write down my unqualified opinions.

Half the competition I was basically going "someone get the ambulance from the parking lot, there’s a train wreck in the arena!"

This competition was wild :smiley-laughing021: Not the good kind of wild, but wild.

Daniel – thank you for keeping all your limbs attached until the end of the event

Donovan – ha that kid is brilliant. He totally charmed everyone’s socks off, as he already did in the SP. He's absolutely 200% adorable and super entertaining. Tech aside. But he at least made it to the FS, so he's clearly not the worst of the lot, and everybody seemed thrilled that he did well here.

Brezina – did not see that coming at all. Yes that wasn't perfect, but it was still like 500% better than what I expected to see from him (and he really was on fire, people were totally buying what he was selling)

Keiji - :13877886:

Kazuki – awwww he's so cute cute cute cute cute :10636614: totally adorable and charming. And he did so well, we were all so excited and happy for the little one!

Paul Fentz – If you think that costume looks bad on TV, it's even worse live!

Deniss – I'm so happy he did so well, honestly, he's such a charmer and a pleasure to watch, so it was great that his jumps didn't leave him today. (Stephane was going nuts behind the boards, as always, LMAO. He kept walking around, watching Deniss, and the camera guy right next to him has clearly never heard of personal space, so at one point Stephane nearly ran him over because obviously he had his eyes on Deniss and not on the dude who was sticking a camera in his face)

Boyang – uuuuhh yeah. I already read before the event that he hasn’t been training "too hard" since the Olympics. I was kinda worried when he didn't show up for morning practice, but in hindsight it was probably to conserve whatever energy he has left at the moment. By the end of the FS he looked like he was gonna pass out any second. And he didn't seem too broken up about this disaster of a free skate, so I guess he probably knew that this could happen. Still sucks, but I'm not too worried about him. He'll be back. (and to whoever told him that Boyang & The Boards is the new OTP: I hate you)

Vincent – ngl, I'm not a fan, I enjoy neither his skating nor his programs (using that word for lack of a better term for that jump collection) but boy I felt bad for the kid. And unlike Boyang, he seemed really unhappy about what he did out there. (shout out to the crowd that was really supportive of everyone, especially every time someone messed up badly!)

Shoma – :13877886::13877886::13877886::13877886::13877886: that was painful to watch, honestly. Those falls were wild, with him just going splat! and legs bending in ways they really shouldn't bend. I just hope that he didn't hurt himself any more with this. But he pulled through until the end and he clearly fought for it, so kudos to him!

(have to say though, as disappointed as I was that Yuzu wouldn't be here... watching Shoma was a complete pain, especially after those awful falls. Now to imagine that Yuzu would have competed here, injured, high on painkillers, potentially splatting all over the place and pulling a Boston 2.0 or, god forbid, something worse :smiley-rolleyes009:  ehm yeah, I imagine that would be [today x infinity]², and since I actually value what little I have left of my sanity, I can definitely do without that experience.)

Nathan – he came, he jumped, he left. Did I miss anything? No, didn't think so. I'm not even gonna look at the protocols because hahahaha just nope. But yes he obviously should have won this mess of a competition.

I'm just gonna keep being happy for Wakaba and Satoko and will from now on live in a world where the week only has 6 days because clearly Saturdays don't exist and none of this ever happened

Tea: You couldn't even medal last yr with 300+pts (poor Javi) :war:

Another tea to comfort you over Nate's inflated score: his 2018 6-quad layout still CAN'T beat Yuzu's 3-quad layout nearly 3 yrs ago. Yuzu did it w 4 quad layout last year.

Anticipate his next step in new season :glasses:

In term of strategy,  no fed would put both of their top contender in the same GP. Imagine, one of them would end up silver when they would bring more gold. I would like to think JSF learnt their lesson when they put both Dai and Yuzuru at NHK12 (and both of them are world medalist at that time) and opened a can of worm

I'm glad that Yuzuru wasn't here. Who know those disaster could bring out what's kind of demon in him. When I saw people went  how amazing the K&C was, I just feel a vert dark energy around it. Even the ladies couldnt escape.

Seem like there's alot drama on twitter now. I'm glad I mute all the words I need to mute . I dont know why people still have energy to rant and bash each other. Shouldn't we glad that its finally over now ? Yuzuru's WR still stand there and that's all matter. I dont care about those what if theories and scoring potential. Gosh, we didn't know who's gonna win after SP, let alone things happen in the next season.

well, I would assume that JSF doesn't want Shoma and Yuzu in the same GPs, but I don't think there's an actual rule to apply here that they can't be in the same event. So I would guess they'll have to figure out the assignments for the world medalists first before they move on to "I give you this and you give me that" backroom deals to see how they can keep those two away from each other until the GPF.

It’s going crazy out there. A lot of ppl getting blocked and unfollowing. Mutuals turning against each other. :slinkaway:

I’m glad this is all over and we can look forward to a new season and leave this disaster of a season (with the exception of the oly) behind us. Time for some new programs :bliss-smiley:

Thats why I mean in term of strategy because technically they can be in same GPs. The top 3 then 4-6 will get their pick first, and so far I only think SA for Nathan and COR for Kolyada are lock.  I remember in 2016 Kolyada have to wait whether he would get COC or NHK because Yuzuru didn't decide his GPs at that time.

yeah I just think it gets people confused if you say "Yuzu and Shoma can't be in the same GP" because like you said, they totally can, there's no actual rule against it ;)

I'm not mad about that 219 score. I mean, Nathan did it with the double amount of quads (with half the quality), half the choreography, half the emotional commitment, half the Skating Skills and half the Transitions. UR Salchow wasn't called. GOE was positive on meh jumps. I mean, score is score, performance is performance.

It's true though that it was one of the few very good performances we saw this morning. I also liked Deniss very much!

(Let's not talk about Boyang... the moment I saw him disappear after that 4Lutz behind the boards... I knew he was gonna splat but I didn't know he was gonna do it THAT hard...)

Ooops Now you said it, I realize I may accidentally delete a whole sentence before it. No wonder some get confuse.  Sorry :hopelessness: ( I should:bed: now)

The point is what will this huge score do to the future? Empty program with 7 quads and break the record in third season? Empty program with 6 quads and ok quality but +4/5 GOEs +95PCS? I know they might not happen but we know judges judge with blind eyes and based on previous scores.

I am not worried about Zu but I am worried about his health...wish he is still 19...I think if he can, he will be in GPs. He is smart enough to know if he is not there, other people's GOE and PCS will be inflated to universe.

Untill Yuzu throws a bomb (may it be a CM/meme or whatever else) on a saturday, then the saturdays will exist again!

once the evil day gets cleansed by pretty, it will of course be allowed to exist again

I think Czech Republic also got 2 spots.

Gee, I wonder what we're gonna do with them, there's like no Czech skaters besides Brezina, and is he even continuing?
