it's amazing on my youtube and facebook feeds there are lots of videos highlighting yuzu's amazing gestures during the flower and medal ceremonies - when he extended his arms and invited shoma and javi to stand on the top podium together. this is just one of those videos : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcA83PZ-fkc

we are already get used to this. but it's so heartwarming to see people notice and appreciate this. They see him not only a great athlete but also a good & inspiring person. many of my facebook friends liked the videos and some of them tagged me "this is your guy right?". i'm so proud!

do you have besp reaction to yuzu winning gold after the scores were announced?

Unfortunately, I don't. Sorry.:13877886: I'm still missing the flower ceremony too. Does anyone have the JPN broadcast?

Thanks for BEsp video!

"He looks so delicate but he has the heart of warrior there..." this guys, particularly Simon makes me cry every time. Love them no matter what.

I hope they invite Misha too :snonegai:

He can do the routine he didwith Madison. Wonder what casual viewers will think of that ;)

BTW, for those who bought the Eurosport VR app, the Men's FS is viewable now with multiple cameras. Quality isn't great at all, but it's interesting

oOOOo thanks for the headsup, that's brilliant, I'd completely forgotten about the silly app! It's like having a bunch of fancams at hand, there's even one of the kiss 'n cry. So kewl. (I never even saw the warming-up of the men, I was... ahem, taking a toilet break).

BTW the BESP commentary is available in high quality in the Eurosport Player with the archived stream (along with some other languages). I have no clue how to make a video of it, but I'm sure some other smarter folks could.

I admit my first concern was to stick to the kiss'n cry cam after Yuzu's program and see if he stuck around to watch Javi ^_^;;; (he didn't; he actually seemed so drained there wasn't even a Vamos Javi and the clapping was kind of anemic... I guess all the adrenaline flowed right out of him...)

1)Wow, his English really improved, vocabulary and sentence-building wise! his pronounciation is terrible (like most Japanese people I know, but it's almost a cultural thing, I'd say) but I can't help but find it adorable. Also, knowing him, it's not like he has a lot of chances to practice his speaking English outside of skating practice. But I bet he has practiced reading English articles on the internet a lot. Proud!

2) LOL AT WHEN HE SCREAMED "YOU CAN SPEAK JAPANESE!" at that journalist :rofl::rofl:I'm really enjoying his newfound sense of humor.

3) Now I understand why he said those fearful things about his injury at the end of this interview. I believe it's tiring to get asked 'what more will you do in the future, what more do you want to do', when you've just reached all you ever desired from yourself, and you are not even sure about your health yet. Those type of questions put you off, and I think Yuzuru (being out of competition-mode) is in a fragile mental state. So, I'll be glad if his interviews are over now, I'll be glad if he will have some rest.

I saw those videos too, and many comments said "Is this the Winnie the Pooh guy?"

As usual, I am in search of videos. So  any BESP/ESP videos for the free? Or what else do we have besides the CBC/NBC ones? I have TAT too and few others but more, more

Here's the FULL FS event and the ceremony in HD with Spanish/Marca Claro commentary (watch it with VPN set to Mexico)

Here's only SEIMEI

http://olimpicos.marcaclaro.com/videos/detalle/yuzuru-hanyu-alcanza-un-oro-historico-284513/

The commentators' words after Seimei finished:

"Yuzuru Hanyu... is a complete ARTIST. What he does on the ice and the way he executes every single movement is truly a delight. Also, we realized he's a mortal since he had a few slips (:smiley-laughing021:), an incredible performance nevertheless. You can enjoy his full choreography, there were many details. It's not just about the difficult elements and jumps, but rather the full balance of what you do. It's about having excellent skating skills, being able to interpret, to connect and merge with the ice to be able to do what he can do.  It's beyond the jumps, you stop focusing on the jumps because everything he does is art, it's magic. Look at the height of that 4S, the way he lands and the speed with which he glides afterwards. 4T, also spectacular. He has an incredible technique. We have been waiting for him and we're thankful. The fact that he didn't participate in the Team Event and saved his energy and strength for this moment is very important. And he was enjoying this routine, you can see it in his face, the way he was surrendering himself to the crowd, because he isn't just a skater, he's a performer."

(No, I did not make up any of that. They were nowhere near as complimentary about the other skaters )

Their commentary during the ceremony:

"All the work he has done in the past 4 years to repeat this and above all, the fact that he didn't felt defeated and chose to compete at the Olympics is... I'm left speechless. He was extraordinary yesterday and magnificent today. He's still so young... Imagine if he goes for his 3rd OGM at 27 years old... The way the full crowd here in the arena acclaims him... It's incredible how sensitive Yuzuru is and how he shows his emotions/surrenders himself completely to people and to doing what he loves, which is skating. And it's a complete joy to observe him, to be able to be a part of this moment in which he wins another OGM. And the way he can gather with his mates...(referring to the podium moment with  Javi and Shoma) it's unbelievable." :sadPooh:
