Omg same! Except I have the upbeat portion stuck in my head. I keep humming it to my dog. My emotional swings have been freaking him out lately.

I’m so greedy... I still wish I could see a perfect version of Javi’s program. And...

Gosh javi you had to do it before the victory ceremony too lol yuzu was joking with shoma and then he cried bc of that orz

Edit: javi probably couldnt hold it in anymore hell I couldnt stopcrying now, I truly feel like top 6 men helsinki was such a perfect top 6 you know? Im crying while typing on my phone

Edit again: much clearer footage if you wanna be killed with the exact sound of yuzuru sobbing

Omg you know what made me emo?

Shoma's performance and music.

Because as he was skating, and the singer was saying "Tramontate stelle, all'alba vincerò, vincerò, vincerò" (Set, stars, for at dawn I'll win, I'll win, I'll win) Shoma was winning his silver, Javier was winning his bronze... but Yuzu... Yuzuru was winning his own dream.

(nevermind that it actually WAS dawn in Italy as they were skating)

I'm emo. Help.

Now that I've successfully calmed down again (kinda), I started rewatching some of the skates in peace and at the same time checking out the CZ TV Sport commentary. And after all the talk of bad, bad commentary, I just feel the need to point out: these two fellows (Verner and Langer) are good at what they do. They don't talk through programs (like some certain commentators tend to...), only name the elements, point out mistakes/interesting bits to note (like back counter into 3A ). They talk afterwards, they seem quite knowledgeable, they don't say outright lies (it's sad that that's not something I can say about everyone), they're objective in their observations and they always have good words for everyone. They talk about all sides of FS, for example after Boyang skated, your average commentator would probably be all quad quad quad, omg did you see that quad, and nothing else (); they talked about choreo, transitions, music choice, performance etc. (and how Lori tried [and failed] to make Boyang not land jumps almost in the boards :smiley-laughing021:). After Nathan's meltdown in the SP, they pointed out (the obvoius truth, tbh) that putting so much pressure on a young skater with little experience is a bad idea. They don't put down skaters with simpler tech content (they really loved Keegan's performance abilities in the FS, which I can only agree with). It's really a shame they don't broadcast FS more often

Sorry for this chunk of text no one asked for, I just felt like typing that out.

Ooooh, I see... That quote... Turandot is an Olympic warhorse for a reason :P *cries*

His performance was so moving too... It was the first time that I found myself enjoying Turandot 2 and he was skating last in the group, so many emotions at once... What a blessed event. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and realize that all of this really happened and wasn't a dream.

I have the Dulcinea part :tumblr_m9gcvqToXY1qzckow:

I slept for 5 hours, was woken because I had to go out to a lunch thing and made conversation for a few hours about all sorts of things but not skating, and am now back looking at everything I missed.  Thanks to everyone who has posted all the things that those of us who missed it didn't see.  Can I recommend that some of us get some food/sleep/ shower/fresh air - you each probably know which you need- I don't think much new will emerge for a while, and it will all still be here when you come back to it.<3

I definitely need a shower, staring at my computer for 15 hours is not good for my eyes.

You are my spirit animal!

Sorry if posted already - the Yuzu Boyang hug Yuzu is so touchy feely <3:10742288:

I only slept like four hours and I'm glued to my computer again hahaha, don't know how I'll be able to fully concetrate for all the homework I have to do!

An observation from looking at snippets of the interviews with the two Japanese boys.

I think we've talked about how among other things, for Uno, Zu is a shield. ( @Yatagarasu you're the one who said it, I think?)

Uno himself said it, I think it was during pres con after SP, that not having the media focused on him helps, and if it will continue to be that way he will be very thankful.

In this regard, I have to say he is a lot luckier than Chen. The three competitions Uno was in where he usually had Zu to shield him (GPF, JP Nats, 4CC) he did not do well, because the pressure and attention were suddenly heaped on his shoulders. He is not equipped for that. As endearing as some people find his 'cluelessness' is (or maybe everyone but me finds it endearing; for me, it comes across as 'disinterested', much like the process by which he 'chose' his programs), I must say he has to snap out of it. Unless of course, he is fine with being forever on Zu's shadows. Because that's the price: you need the shield, you'll be forever hidden behind it. And Uno is talented. His technical flaws bug me to no end, but he is talented. He is younger than Zu, so I hope he will stay around for several more seasons after the inevitable. But if he doesn't learn to 'fend for himself' from the media of his country that are THIS invested in their skaters, he would be in so much trouble.

I've never watched interviews that featured only Uno, so some of you who do, if you don't mind enlightening me. Are those interviews as dynamic as the ones he had in which Zu also shielded his subtle 'I really don't want to be here, but whatever' demeanour?

I don't mean to be mean. It's the impression I got and I would like it to be corrected if wrong.
