Hah, I'm also going to join that club. His SP this season truly won me over. I like that he's voicing his opinion and finding his own music knack. With Shen and Zhao at the fore of the Chinese Skating Fed, there might be some changes, especially since Shen/Zhao respect Tracy Wilson a lot (I recall somewhere they had received warm up exercises from her and used it, it probably has made it through the entire fed now). So while they probably will not allow a full-time foreign coach, they may allow him to train overseas during the off season to work on skating skills. He's at a point that he may need foreign assistance-with Beijing looming, now's a time to start. Plus, he's made a strong case for himself with his 4th place finish. And even in some other places, he's won over new fans who are defending him against the negativity on Social Media. 

 

Also, Chinese men have never had such an outstanding placement at the Olys before. He should feel proud that he managed to do so well in such a competitive field, at his first Olys no less. I'm kind of happy that the media in China is still heralding him as the hero leading a new generation. 

 

@Murieleirum: him and Zu together at TCC? Have some mercy on Brian's hair. But you know, when asked after the FS by the chinese media, Boyang said that he didn't so much work on jumps as he just did more run-throughs of his entire programs to get the nuances. I know Boyang comes off as cute and cuddly, but the boy is competitive AF too, just not exactly in the overt way of McSwanface. Chinese media never told him he had to get a podium finish, Boyang gave that goal and burden to himself.

Waking up to this and I cry again in my bed  Yuzu and Javi might not go to dinner as friends but they clearly have such an impact to each other on ice and off ice.. I became sad thinking this might be javi's last olympics (and one of his last competitions, hopefully not yet )

For some reason, he's not as popular as Nathan internationally, but he's so stan worthy, yet I get the feeling that either Nathan or Adam will be invited over him. It'd be a shame for me.
