Yes, yes and yes. 

I think we've been struck with a wave of anxiety following Yuzuru sharing in interviews the dark thoughts that went past him these 2 months. But those were from the past. Yes, maybe he hasn't fully healed still, but nothing stops him from doing so, and coming back even stronger. Yes, it's a difficult wound, but the worst is past him. He has defeated all the demons of the past. 

Probably, it's some sort of melancholy that we might be feeling... because four years have passed, and the Olympics, at least for Yuzu, are over. He won. A part of his carreer, a big part of his carreer, is over. But another one has just begun and, maybe just maybe, it's gonna be even better than the past. 

It's been 12 hours and I'm still recovering  Watching the men's event was probably the wildest thing I've ever experienced (thank god it's over, I lost like 10 years of life) 

Never knew I could cry so much and be such a shaking mess.. I am just so grateful for everything that happened and so happy we got those incredible performances to remember for years to come. 

 

I'm so happy he is happy  That gold medal belonged to him all along, so well deserved, and what a dream come true. 

But all these hints about the injury are low key killing me

You heard right! I think he was continuing his train of thoughts after Javi told him this could have been his last Olympics... and Yuzu cried... AGAIN... he's such a sweetheart

Javi is going to be very much missed. He is a beautiful skater and person.

And somehow I feel like TCC will be lacking a big part of it. His absence will be felt tremendously, probably from Yuzuru, the most.

It is such a shame there are no longer professional competitions for figure skating. Those events were made for skaters like Javi.

also, Dutch sport news just had a short item on Hanyu and his pooh bears obsession. That was... weird, didn't expect to see that. It wasn't even disrespectful. They had an famous retired speed skater in the studio, and afterwards asked him what people threw at him (!) at competitions, and he replied, also stuffed toys and stuff. *blinks* That was a real eye-opener for me, I thought the stuffed toys things was a figure skating thing. Never heard before that it was (is?) done with speed skating, too. He says they were always donated to children's homes etc., so yeah, I don't think he made it up. He was serious about it. Cute.

I predict Javi will stay on at TCC as an apprentice coach. I fervently hope so.

Yuzuru saying 'I can't do it without you' to javi and then crying made me cry.... I feel so emo, patrick and javi, (and misha! Remember?) Truly the end of an era....

 

Edit: someone just pointed out that out of the top 6 helsinki boyang is the only one going home without a medal n now im so saaaad for him ;;
