Well I'd argue that he really should go with the most stable layout in the Short. Stability is necessary for short, he has to ensure his point difference with other men does not go far. And even with his 4S ACI layout, he's not far behind BV wise, plus his GOEs and PCS are capable of netting him over 109 (which very few men have managed this season).  Especially since he skates free the next day, he needs to conserve energy.

Actually, has anyone touched 109 except for Javier at Worlds 2017 SP? I don't recall it.

It's amazing really, it's like Angelo Dolfini has always said: Yuzuru is unbeatable in the SP, even with a conservative layout. I hope he does a stellar SP with Salchow and Toeloop and breaks 113 score, while others do 4Flip and 4Lutz and hardly go beyond 105.

Look at these cuties smiling sweetly at the strawberry cake

Well you see February/March is strawberry season in Japan. I can say with authority that Japan's strawberries are out of this world delicious. That plus their strawberry short cake is pure heaven. These sweet cupcakes are talking about having that as a reward when the Olympics is over.

*nods sagely*

It is known.

Given the reaction to Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu not winning team (no joke) on Twitter, it seems I might have a lot of twitter users to fight if this happens :swordfight::smiley-sport014:i'm ready for it

I woke up to gorgeous in white, single jumps, one nice 3A and a strawberry shortcake tissue cover?? I will never sleep again.  :13877886:

He is glowing! Oy I missed him so much.  :201111231756430f6:

Hmm, I don't know if judges at Olys are willing to throw the same GOEs at him as the judges at ACI (maybe higher PCS), but who knows, maaaybe they miss him, just a tiny bit-the same amount as uncle Kurt's "little bit of" fangirling. =)

Honestly, if he can skate it cleanly, I think they'll go with him. Knock on wood but I think they will. I think it's not just about missing him but about missing that one huge name and moment. Hate him or love him, Plushenko brought attention. Yagudin brought attention. We had Yuna and Mao. Skating only has the one star like that now. We'll see.
