Why can't we have this TP at olys? Instead we have COC for men and SA for women... They're not perfect but they're the best TP we've had for a long time... /sigh/

I swear I can't shake off the feeling that he'll get that Bronze. Idk why but even when he got injured that feeling never left. *cue ominous music*

He’s secured bronze at the past two worlds, when it counted, and I believe he‘s capable of doing it again

Shoma is finally getting back on track, I was worried that he peaked too early but now I think he will be ready for the Olympics

 I intentionally dropped Jason off the podium in my predictions because he bombed every single time I predicted a medal for him. It worked and he medalled  

boyang winning a medal at the olympics the way he skated in 2015/16 being a travesty? perhaps, but the only way that would happen would be with people flopping themselves so far out of contention that he could take it. boyang skating clean (3Lz+2T is fake!!!) with technically perfect jumps, vastly improved skating skills, carriage, speed and flow, the way he did here and medalling? i dont think that would be a travesty at all, and the way the field is judged it'd still probably mean people performing badly ahead of him. can you really complain if someone gets plainly outskated?  

 

such incredible improvement from him. while not at all perfect, his free skate works a whole lot better when he isn't focusing on the pain in his ankles and is actually present in the performance. in my opinion anyway. and that short program is golden, he worked with the darker tone so well and there are some gorgeous moments in it. i love his step sequence 

 

he needed to deliver here, and he did. he needed a 300+ to put him back in the conversation for the olympics, and he did. personally, i believe he can do that again, because thats what boyang does, y'know? like a streak of light he arrives just in tiiiiiime boyangman boyangman does whatever a boyang can

 

ahhh, i couldn't be happier for him. can't wait to watch him improve even more.  

I'm just so happy at the improvement Boyang has shown. He looks quite recovered, but it's not just that, in his SP, he looked like he was connecting to the music, and even if there are a few empty spots, it doesn't feel bad. Whatever is missing from the free, I blame the choreographer and whoever chose the music cuts. Boyang did an excellent job with what he's been given. But apart from all that, his skating looks better. His step sequences looked so good. He has just become so much better. He's earning every single point he's been given, wrenching it from their reluctant, crabby hands by being undeniably deserving of those points. He will improve more, and he will keep making them give him those scores.

 

I hope he grows into somebody who could really rival Yuzu in a season or two. I would love to see them compete on a similar level.

I think I got the podium right but I jinxed Shoma out of first.  

Ok last thing, I just can't with Shoma's banana costume. Its so bad in motion and make him look shorter. Please, Shoma, why you change that pretty bluerandot to this ????

I chalk it up to Bluerandot getting dry cleaned or something. It'll be back!
