So, this is the classy (and badass) way to react to not being part of the Olympics team: you don't complain over the inevitable fact that not everyone can go, skate your heart out and give a stunning performance like this on what might not be 'the' tournament of the year, but still means more and more in the figure skate world.

Mai MIHARA   JPN
FS: Carlotta (from "The Mission" soundtrack) by Ennio Morricone; Gabriel's Oboe (Whispers in a Dream) by Ennio Morricone performed by Hayley Westenra; Vita Nostra (from "The Mission" soundtrack) by Ennio Morricone
3Lz3T, 2A // 3F, 2A3T, 3Lo, 3Lz2T2Lo, 3S-rippon
TES: 72.60
PCS: 68.13
FS Score: 140.73 (SB)
Overall: 210.57, 2nd

And, they kept her below Kaori as expected (dont get me wrong, loved kaori, but you knew she would not be ahead of the olys picks)...

Let's see. With a fall, will Miyahara still get to be placed ahead of Kaori?

I mean, who am I kidding here.

All three deserve to go to the Olympics. Such a shame.
