Well I didn't expect that - thought it might be the other way round but Gabby looks fully recovered I'm glad to see.  Got to go now - will have to miss SD- will check later with interest

I don't think it is possible to skate a full program with pneumonia. It comes with fever and shortness of breath, both would have affected her skating

That being said, if she does have pneumonia now then someone (or many) need to be fired for allowing her to participate in the competition. Pneumonia is not a joke and should be taken very seriously.

A different type of pneumonia? My sis was working, going to the gym and everything was okay until she lost her voice. She went to the doctor and diagnosed with Pneumonia. She was so shocked.

Not that I’m saying it should be treated lightly. Anything can happen.

It's probably the so called walking pneumonia, it's different from the usual, serious one. Some folks never know they had it, and you can even sort of function with it, as if you have a cold. I imagine the free skate is going to be way more difficult for her. Also I am not sure if she is contagious or not.

According to WebMD:

Is It Contagious?

Yes. It spreads through sneezes or coughs. But it spreads slowly. If you get it, you could be contagious (which means you could spread it to other people) for up to 10 days.

Researchers think it takes a lot of close contact with an infected person for you to develop walking pneumonia. Still, there are widespread outbreaks every four to eight years.

Soooooo, not the best news for TCC but not the worst?

I just hope she stays far away from Yuzu, serious version or not I can't imagine it'd agree well with his asthma...

I've had pneumonia a few times, unfortunately.  I would like to think she's had this for a bit and is being treated with antibiotics, and is on the road to recovery as opposed to being at the beginning or in the middle of the episode. And, once you are on antibiotics, chances are it is harder to catch pneumonia from you... She's just not totally recovered and can't say she's healthy. I just hope the effort required to compete here doesn't give her a setback, which can happen when you try to do too much too soon.

Thank you! Well I think they're all mostly fine, if the lots of close contact is true, except perhaps her coach. Fingers crossed.
