Thanks, @Paskud! Thank you! I find it rather expensive : 7000¥ for both days, that is more or less 70€ for a live stream, neither a live performance nor a record one can watch again. Do some satellites know if it is in line with other events? Are they likely to sell many tickets? Is Yuzuru Hanyu likely to skate there, in which case I guess they will sell a great many? Do some satellites know if it is in line with other events? Mao's Thanks Tour was around Y3000 (inclusive of fees) for the livestream. At the moment, it's not clear whether the PIA livestream requires a PIA account to purchase ticket - if it does then it will be difficult to access from overseas as you normally need a Japanese mobile to set up an account. Mao's livestream was sold through a different platform. Since DOI will be aired live on TBS CS channels, an alternative may be to take out a 3 day subscription to one of net tv providers. Depending on the provider you select it's probably about USD 5 for 3 days access and some providers allow you to download after the live TV ends - note that you'll probably need extended channel list to access the CS channels. I don't want to post the link but a google search should come up with the net tv providers. Generally if one can afford to splurge on the Y7000 - and providing PIA account is not required - I would encourage supporting the official livestream so that ice show organisers will consider this for future shows by making it more accessible to overseas audiences. sweetwater
Japan Collegiate Skating and Ice Hockey Federation announced that they canceled intercollegiate meet this season considering that it is going to be difficult to ensure the health and safety of participants, and many skaters haven't been able to resume training, etc. This means the cancelation of regional qualifying events as well, but each competition may be held as a local comp. Intercollegiate meet and Nationals both have their own qualifying events separately. The regional qualifying events I mentioned in my last post are regional intercollegiate meets, such as West Japan Intercollegiate Meet or East Japan Intercollegiate Meet. None of the qualifying events for Nationals hasn't been canceled yet. At the moment, the JSF website says that regional qualifying events for Nationals will be held behind closed doors from late September.
