oops sorry sorry!

god this is what happens when i'm half asleep (sorry, it's very late here)

hang on, gimme a moment...

it's late for me too ... I'll go to bed now or else I can forget being productive tomorrow ..

boyang's performance hurt a lot to watch, and it was horrible seeing him in so much pain but i can honestly say that for me, seeing nathan and boyang skate back to back there is generally a visible difference in the use of one footed transitions, (i was just begging nathan to do something with his legs!! love his upper body movement but sigh it just felt like he was just. walking, almost. like he was just out for a friendly stroll on the bottom half of his body) and in their speed (in boyangs favour, but im pretty sure i've ranted about this before lmao) and the judges scores for some components are infuriating to say the very very least. this is to a... semi-untrained eye and im probably completely wrong, but it was glaring to me. if boyang misses the gpf... well it didnt hurt him too much last year. id rather him rehabilitate and be in good condition for the olympics, but that's a given.

i feel like i never actually disagree with the score boyang gets, but his scores in comparison to other skaters

seeing chen and rippon both outscore hanee in ss was just laughable (in the sense that if i dont laugh ill cry)  what are rules - or should i say guidelines so that the isu can justify this mess somehow?  what is pcs? what is correct marking? are these judges just pulled off the street and told to click anything? feels like the only logical explanation at this point.

I am kind of glad I didn't wake up early for this! Adam's 3Lz is lovely, but his 3A looked wonky to me, though not as wonky as Nathan's. Oddly enough, I liked the beginning few seconds of Nathan's programme far more than the jumps this time, except his combination, he does that 4Lz-3T really nicely. I see NO ballet anywhere when Nathan skates but today I saw that he's probably quite a good contemporary dancer. They should quit this ballet pushing and push him as a contemporary dancer and skater. It would at least feel a little true. He is a clear symbol of what skating is evolving into, since apparently the judges all approve of what he does, so why create a false narrative when there's a perfectly good real one there? Though I really do not like his free programme so I hope they don't bump his PCS higher for it. But they probably will.

Mexican judge should pass me his flask.

I am so happy for Voronov. That programme is great for him. Good job from Misha!

I hope Adam lands his quad tomorrow. He does have such ease when he jumps the lutz. One more rotation, Adam, you obviously can do it! His SP is fun but I really liked his free programme at NHK.

But Boyang. :( Please withdraw, bb. It's all right, we all know this year's GPF is fake news. Just heal and train well again.

Just watched the Olys Channel version of Boyang's skate.

Tara said he hadn't done a 4Lz in 3 weeks because of his inflamed ankle.

Poor BB Boyang... :(

Now I wish he would just WD.

He should just get some rest and recover...

If he doesn't make it to the GPF, won't be feeling too bad about it now.

At least he can give his ankle a break.

Han Yan is a beautiful skater, and yes, PCS comparison will give me a coronary. And he has some bone structure, too, those cheekbones! That jawline!

I was only able to stream the 2nd group of guys. Watching other performances and wtf are those PCS for daddyMura.

Poor Boyang. :( I’m so sad for him. As if the crappy FS choreography wasn’t punishment enough for him. Beaming him good Spiderdragon vibes!

I just watched Oly commentary for Nathan and now I’m a really angry sports fan! YES, TERRY, THERE IS A BETTER SHORT PROGRAM THIS SEASON IT’S CALLED BALLAND NO 1 AND IT’S THE MASTERPIECE OF ALL TIME WHAT EVEN MAN DO YOU HAVE TWO EYES AND A HEART OR JUST A BLACK SOUL-SHAPED VOID WHAT EVEN MAN (Even though I really love Nathan’s SP, Shae is a genius.)

I never care about this stuff, what is this season doing to me? :( I don’t know myself anymore.

:consoling2:  This is only the start... USFS has someone legitimately in contention for OGM. They're gonna be pushing Nathan more and more (I mean, the amount of articles about Nathan? Even that ballet photoshoot?). Yuzu's no longer in the GPF picture (thank goodness) so poor Shoma is now going to take the brunt of bad US media narrative now.. they've already started painting Shoma as the inconsistent one. :dumb: (I still remember Vancouver'10 and how much hype Lysacek got...)

I thought everyone was being a bit paranoid about all this but I am :13877886: now. Fully just :13877886:. How is that Mexican judge a judge? And I love Johnny so, so much but c’mon, man, Yuzu adores you! Throw the kid a bone! He even skates Chopin in your costume, guy! Unanswered love letters hurt. :tumblr_m7etfqA8wS1qb1380:

Is the Chopin's costume designed by Johnny? I thought it could be someone else.

Not designed but inspired by, for sure.

(This one is very painful to watch.)

seriously can we all just start a prayer circle for our injured skaters?

there have been SO MANY this season!

it's like a curse!!!  :slinkaway:

Totally agreed!  :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I've never seen so many injuries like this year in one gp season! Never!

Catching up with the men now (glad I didn't stay up last night :slinkaway:)

Nathan is doing great with his SP and I am glad he escaped this season's curse (please let it remain so for the entire year :smiley-angelic001:). The scores were expected considering he is in the US so I am not commenting on that. However, he was slow and it looks like the Nathan program format is to start with strong choreography, drop everything to concentrate on the jumps, and finish with strong step sequence and the judges will buy it. I knew from the beginning that it will be like this but thought I would give it a chance to grow and get better and it doesn't seem to be happening. If anything, he is getting better in his performance at the beginning and the end that it is more noticeable when he drops it for the jumps. Anyway, I am glad he is doing well and I do think he has a lot of potential . I may not like his skating much but I really admire his strength and fight.. Go Nathan :cheer:

Adam and Voronov are brining it, it is the rise of the uncles :smiley-happy105: (are you watching Patric )

Poor Boyang :crybaby:... The first half of his performance was good and I can see the potential in this program, it really fits him. unfortunately he was struggling too much in the second half and was out of sync with the music. Of course that is to be expected considering his injury and I hope he didn't hurt his ankle more :smiley-angelic001:  IMO it is better if he doesn't make it to GPF, I know it will be hard for him but he needs time to heal and his injury is obviously getting worse. With Nathan and Shoma there he will not be getting any love from the judges anyway so why risk it

off to watch the other men :bye-smiley:

Can we protest that Mexican Judge's PCS for Nathan in some way? Like... boycott tapas for a while??

No, but really, 9,75 SS for Chen and 9.25 SS for Han Yan. Wut.

I'm happy Nathan is healthy though. At least one in the top-6 group... ONE. (Okay, well, Javier's incident was a one time thing, but still.)
