This was such an amazing competition compared to SC. Amazing performances all around by the skaters.... the judging however....

What a competition. Even Liza in 7th could easily get medal in Canada. I think Wakaba chance on GPF and Oly spot is better than ever. She's so consistent this season. Should get gold tbh

I don't want to say it and maybe here isn't the right place for discussion (happy to move it if so) but honestly...how much of this may be because Wakaba doesn't look like the ~typical~ skater. If my conservative Asian parents can remark on it & I have to fight to get their attention when she skates....... I don't doubt some of this BS filters in at least subconsciously in certain judges' minds, esp if they're around my parents' age. Which is a bullshit factor but I'm not gonna pretend it isn't playing on my mind when I see the PCS differences sometimes. There's a certain 'halo' effect around the perceived ~elegance~ of slender limbs >______> 

I think you're spot on - preference for dinky princesses over a powerful athletic skater.  It makes me so angry 😡

I would say Waka's chance of Olys spot is secure... she made the gpf and that's huge. If no other Japanese girl goes then I'd assume she gets her spot unless she bombs at Nats, which I doubt.

What German Eurosport had to say about Zagitova

 

That Zagitova scored higher for both Performance and Interpretation of music than Wakababy is insane. Even the same score in Composition is laughable.

 

That Radionova scored any of the PCS component higher than Mai is also bleh. But of course the main injustice is Radionova's URs in SP AND FS not being called.
