The layout he did seems to have been 4Lo (he popped) 3A and 4T3T, which is why people are saying he'll go for the initial Chopin 1.0 layout, with 2 jumps in the second half, only the solo quad this time will be 4Lo. It's a tiny increase in BV but added to the repeat of Chopin for the third time, I am not sure if it is strategically sound to play it safe quite like this.

 He did 4lo (pop to 2lo) and 3A, 4T3T in 2nd half. So yeah, its higher BV.

If he wants to forget LCG by using Chopin again, he could  have chosen another calm, beautiful classical piece. There is so much that type of music in the world. 

unless his FS is something absolutely mega with 5 quads, i can't see how this is in anyway a good move for oly season?

After cooling down from Chopin disapointment I'm more worried about his layout. If he will really do 4Lo/ 3A 4T-3T, then BV  won't be a problem, but he will give his opponents an opportunity to bring him down PR wise- they are already saying that he's old and can't keep up with young guns. And this can hurt him more than BV diffrence.

At this point I'm tempted to say 2 things:

1) This isn't his final layout..the more I think about it, the more I think that 4Lz is coming in the SP. It's not like him to go for the same layout each season. And a  4Lz SP layout would be really good BV, assuming he can hit it. 

2) This isn't the final music cut...he hasn't had time to really create his SP with Jeff yet. He probably finds chopin comforting, so he's possibly sticking with a chopin, but not necessarily this specific cut, music or edit. (*goes and prays for Tristesse*)

 Then possibly something dynamic such as Firebird, such as New World Symphony etc for the FP....hopefully this is his logic...

I am 70% sure this isn't his final layout... it's the layout he wanted to do today, only that. He couldn't have debuted 4Lz, it's too soon.

I don't think Chopin again is a bad idea. This means the layout will have a huge change I guess.

Honestly, I don't mind if he skates to Chopin 3.0 and Seimei 2.0, if that means he will win Olympic again.
