Yuzu still has FS. It's too early to talk about the overall result.

He didn't look nervous or stiff to me at all. The Roncapu was beautiful except for the pop. (IMO he looked stiffer in JNats RonCapu) Sad for him that he could not present the program the way he intended. Hope he will be able to skate the way he wants in the FS.

But looking at how scoring is and who is the one get push...the podium will be Nathan,Yuma and Shoma.I just hope Yuzu just go for broke and land the 4A in the free..

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say that I know a lot of us are sad or disappointed or just feeling down in general, and while it's certainly ok to sit with these negative emotions for a while and process them, it won't do anyone good to stew in them for too long. I hope that we can pick ourselves up a bit and find some strength to continue to cheer for him with positivity and hope. It's easy to cheer for someone when they do well, and when they win, but I feel like it's maybe even more important to cheer for that person when they're down or behind. After all, isn't that when they'd need it most?

Yuzuru has brought me so much joy and strength, as he has to so many of us, so I hope on his planet we can send both him and each other our best. I'm still hopeful for him at these Games. He hasn't yet lost what he's wanted most for these past four years. And, even if he doesn't land his childhood dream in two days, that's okay, too. This is how life goes, sometimes. It wouldn't diminish his past, nor shutter his future.

I do feel he focused too much on 4A over the past few seasons and not having a coach beside him before the SP is kind of not conventional. I am not expecting a 3rd OGM from him at this point I hope he just enjoys the Olympics.

Well his ‘mistake’ here was more because of the ice condition, the hole was unfortunate, not because of his lack in training so...

Tbh, his interview gives the impression that this Olympics is not that important to him and he's not that down about the mistake. So, I'm rooting for him to go for his 4A. That's his dream.

He feel relaxed in the interview. maybe the weights are lifted from his shoulders.

Yeah, I think if it was just the ice he can't really be mad at himself or think he didn't train enough. Sometimes unforseen things happen. What can you but shake it off and keep moving forward.

Are they the 2 BBC commentators? Forgot their names

They're the British Eurosport commentators, I'm not sure if there's a live BBC stream

Ok, so what I hope this means is that Yuzuru will go to Worlds to get his redemption and land a beautiful perfect nessie!! Please Yuzuru, don't end your career here, I' sure it would leave a bad taste on his mouth

f*ck consolation worlds

I can't believe even Universe doesn't have his back anymore. First asthma attack in Stockholm when he was capable of winning and now this. So much cruelty for me to handle.

Me too. It sounds like less of a jump mistake or being plagued by injury/illness and more he hit a patch of bad ice. It happens. Just straight up bad luck.

On the upside it takes the pressure off and he can feel more free to focus on 4A which seems to be his main goal anyway.

Chase your dreams Yuzu, whatever they may be, we'll support you.

But landing a 4A and not getting an olympic medal will hurt his career than giving up the 4A for now and getting an Olympic medal. I think Yuzu is not seeing the big picture here. He can try for the 4A at next worlds or other game. To go for 4A at olympics is just too risky. High risk and low probability of actually skating the entire program clean with a 4A. Olympic pressure is unlike anything else.

I hate how this sport makes me feel old, like I remember when I thought that being 18 was a peak adulthood and now when I've seen that Daniel is 19 I thought to myself that he is still such a baby

I can't even imagine how Yuzu might be feeling right now. But I also trust that his mental fortitude is more robust than mine, so I hope that he truly sees it as just an unfortunate event and skates a FS he can be proud of and fulfilled by.

I thuink he has the advantage of not being his first olys as a medal contender, so his mental state might be different than the rest.

But honestly... I am not even convinced that he wanted to be there at all :tumblr_inline_ncmifiE3IT1rpglid: so i am not too optimistic about the FS as a whole, let alone a comeback

I agree. I don't think his heart was really in this Olympics. He wanted to do 4A, but felt he had to put in a good effort here because he qualified to go. I hope he still has the desire to perform a good Tenchi, just for himself, and not for any medals or anyone's expectations.

Hoping Keegan does well.  I wonder why he flew in so late? That’s got to affect his concentration… must be tough. 😕
