Maybe he will go back to studying.

Imo, It will depend on how he finishes his career. If he fulfills his dreams, he might remain in the FS and do shows. I don't see him coaching. If not, I fear he might seek a low-profile life.

Well.. he himself said that he wants to become a pro skater and contribute to society (charity) <3 and help other skaters!  Then when he retires from being a pro skating, he wanted to help more than the skaters.. athletes in general.. I don't know how.. but he said he experienced alot of injuries and such, he must learned alot about rehabilitation?!   (Fantacy on Ice 2015).

I don't know why I have a bad feeling about Beijing though, I fear it will affect him more than I'm prepared for.

Believe it or not, the mistake in SP already affected him. Let's just hope it doesn't get bigger or worse. He is a wise man. Let's just trust him and pray for him but at the same time do not expect anything for tomorrow FS. Just let yuzu be yuzu. Trust me, by doing this,it hurts less for us and for him.

I'm the only one who wants him to skip gala and go back to Japan right after FP?

No, you're not. Regardless of injury or not, there are ten days until the gala. It is ten days waiting in Beijing, being available for media (and covid). I much rather see him return home where he can recover in peace and have the support from all of his family. There is still time for WC if he wants to and is able to compete there. Is one gala performance truly that important? Sorry if I am ahead of the time while the competition is still on-going. I just have changed my perspective to the future already. It is better for my mental health to pretend that there are no Olympics left after tomorrow.

Studying is peak hermit life tho :((.

Unless he does Yuzu Talks on it and we can all learn about the most optimal way to do a quad jump

Obviously. I mean I'm merely a fan and I still can't digest how cruel it was. It also only affected him and no one else. Like @ Universe wtf.

For me, after Yuzu's FP, Olympics is finished! :bed:

Me either.

I am fed up with hustle and bustle.

I am going back to my life.

You know it doesn't matter now, but I believe Yuzu was going to skate Rondo so beautifully if the hole in the ice wasn't there. His 4T+3T was just so dreamy. I'm mad at Universe, because it took away our chances to see the greatest SP performance ever. He skated the rest of program in shock. Idc about the scores but if it hadn't happened, I think he could have gotten 111 again. My heart is broken into million pieces, I'm not joking.

But then the whole narrative would become "Chen defeated Hanyu". Now, the narrative is that "Hanyu had a mishap". This is the silver lining of the ice-hole for me

I fear that if he's off podium and both yuma and shoma get medals, he would think he isnt needed anymore 😭

Re Yuzu not skating at the Team Event being JSF's decision, I did notice that part, but I took it to mean that they did possibly (not definitely) ask him, he gave his preference, they decided, then announced it. I mean, none of the athletes have the power to make the final decision on who gets to skate or not, it's up to the federation. Look at ROC and their team event.

And, suppose Yuzu did decline, he would still need to wait for JSF to make the final decision, right? If it were 2018 Japan men's situation and Yuzu was healthy, would they even allow Yuzu to skip, knowing TJ has a chance for a medal? They would still decide to send Yuzu.

I believe the wording is because Yuzu has a tendency to indicate that things are not up to him. For example, during JNats last year, he did keep saying things like IF he were named to the Olympics. I mean, how could he not be named, right? But he still said that.

Of course, I could be wrong, but that's my view.

Well, then the side by side videos of their SPs would have been hilarious for the whole world. 2 points different would have been easier to digest than 20 points. *pain*

btw, isn't the current narrative "Hanyu had a mistake on his opening sal"? I don't see any media mentioning the ice hole.

Did you just read my mind? And I fear he might lose the motivation in 4A too. I'm not ready for what might happen.

I just saw that the team event medals are possibly under review?
