Max has called her out publicly on his channel Eurosport, so at least there's someone on our side. But... unfortunately I'm not sure about anyone on our side working INSIDE Isu. Let me just... drown my sorrows in coffee.

My, for example the wife of Isu's President Bianchetti, who happens to be a figure skating commentator and commented Yuzu's programs on Rai. When I was 12 I saw Sex Bomb for the first time and I laughed so much... I guess the winner of the artistic skating is the one who 'entertains' the most then? Bring on the elephants and the round circles of fire!

Oh, don't let me think about it... there are commentators who said Yuzuru's Hope and Legacy was 'cold' and 'emotionless'... so I guess Yuzuru wouldn't... go well... in artistic skating..????

-12 days!!! I think Seimei 2 is gonna be much more different than Chopin 3, even though I don't know why :3

Yeah, I understand keeping an open mind. I guess I had a gut reaction. I trust my gut though. In any case, Bach was an anomaly for music too. Skip a couple centuries, he became the basics of western music in the whole world and everyone had to study him for years to be considered somewhat decent c: So I think the sport should evolve in Yuzuru's direction - praise the capacity to be "all-rounded". Instead of dividing abilities. It just seems like the wisest choice.

As much as I know Yuzuru is unique, I don't want to believe no one will ever come close to his skating. I believe in him, but we joke when we say that he comes from another Planet. He is a HUMAN, and the more children will be inspired by his skating, the more some of them will try to be like him, and I am sure many have the potential to be as great as him. He is not a prophet, he is not a God, he is someone who can and will inspire the future generations, either in figure skating or other fields. I do agree with you that separating SP and FS is not absurd, since a whole other bunch of competitions in Olympics only differ in time/duration variations. But separating technical skating and artistic skating is something else entirely.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever seen Yuzu get 'extra' angry about something that didn't concern his own skating! But that's a research for another topic

Thank you. You just expressed what I wanted to say but made it way less dramaqueen-istic than me LOL.

I am strongly opposed to this. Being all-around skaters is not the same as being good at only technique and being good at only artistry. "Artistry" medals or "Technical" medals shouldn't exist. This sport IS the fusion of technique and artistry. Separating these two things is like separating the body and mind, the heart and the brain, it's boring, it's making a step back, it's not understanding what being human is all about. It's a tragedy, in my opinion. Even just suggesting it proves enourmous stupidity (of those speaking in the article). Not even talking about how separating it would be completely denying Yuzuru Hanyu's influence and handprint on the sport, completely denying that only the most talented skaters, who can unite body and mind, heart and brain into their programs, deserve to be on top. I am probably getting a little too emotional, but I am not sure if what I'm saying is understood. You can't be a soloist if you play Paganini's caprices with technical perfection, but no heart (dynamics, interpretation). And you can't be a soloist if you play Paganini while being totally into the music, but messing up the notes. You can't be a musician if you don't master technique and art. Right now, the best skaters in the world are Artists, because they put technique and heart together. This is how music, drawing, photography, cuisine, writing, any kind of Art is made. Denying that Figure Skating is a form of Art, is officially and literally making the sport take not one step back, but several kilometers back. This, of course, is my opinion and not absolute truth.

Oh yes, now that you said it I remember! xD Asaichi is such a great program tbh. And I love that Yuzu can be comfortable and joke in his own style.
-
Is he saying 止めて? xDDD (I don't remember the context... I guess I should put study aside as well to watch Asaichi again...)
-
Yoloing jumps since the very first event of the season... I see... I see... so I guess the percentage of us seeing 4Lz for the first time as a YOLO last jumping pass for Seimei 2.0 has just gotten higher by more or less 99%
-
It's best if I don't talk about his playing games and staying indoors all day with no socialization. Let's just say, he has a lot to improve there
-
I think he will be very proud when Yuzu will land it, yes c: But also, I think it has become obvious to us that Yuzuru will never have a name to truly represent everything that he gave and is giving to the sport. "Absolute Champion" comes very close, but still it's not enough! So when he will land 4A, it won't even be the greatest thing he has ever done. That's how good he is. 4A isn't even the best of him.
-
Swan Yuzu dawned his blessing upon myself and my instrument and the concert went really well overall! <3 These days I'll have time to play something else in honor of Yuzu's programs hehehe.
-
Yes, but also... training and skating in the same rink as Yuzu... must be immensely motivating. I can't wait to see how it will play out for Gogolev, but he really can learn so much by watching him (and Javi). Not only regarding technique, but interpretation, focus, generosity with emotions. It must be amazing.
-
LOL I am watching this moment on repeat, trying to think about what might have crossed their hearts in that moment... I love the rhythm of it. It looks like Gogolev turns to Yuzuru and gets stung by the King's eyes and just 'nope nope nope I gotta get out the way' and Yuzu's like 'yeah u better'.
-
Hhahahah Brian dropping subtle hints xDDD thank you so much for the translation, gladi! It was indeed the longest so far, and so deep and also emotional. Also LOL at WhyNot4Lz!Max Ambesi tweeting. Well, he's not wrong. Plus, with the whole part of Brian talking about Yuna's 3Loop that made her get better at the rest of the jumps... I think he might be aiming to do the same thing with 4Loop and 4Lutz for Javi and Yuzu respectively (If they will let him.) Of course, though, Yuzu will never allow his 4Lz to be his 'weakest jump'. He already has 3Flip, theoretically, even if he enters through quick steps and exists with a counter now... so you can't actually say anything bad about that Flip.

I MISSED A SMALL ERUPTION. Will never forgive myself for this. Okay, now that I have forgiven myself. Let's get down to business (to defeat the Huns) 1) That was a Single Lutz. Not a popped Lutz. He may have made it single instead of a triple because he was tired, but a pop is when you prepare for more rotations, and do less rotation. That was a Single Lutz as far as my eye can see, I didn't see him going into it with the intention of doing a triple. Meaning, Trollzuru working his magic as to not showing us Lutzes... just because?? 2) He's totally putting a spiral there, and of course that wasn't the real thing, it was the hint of a spiral, just like he hinted at many other things (some other new things I can't wait to see!) 3) I didn't think I could be any deadder than 'post-concert' dead and instead I am deadder than that indeed. 4) DAT SPIN. EEEEK. ACI COME SOON. Just -11 days.

Oooh I didn't know paprika came from Hungarian! The things you learn xD So Japanese people are excused for this time... (Americans are not tho.) Awww can you link a video in which he says it?
-
Lol, I've never eaten that sour thing before! We don't have it in Italy I guess xD And yes, it was surprising to me too, paprika is the spice usually. I don't know why Japanese sometimes messes words up like this! Reminds me of the awful use of the word 'pepperoni' in American, which supposedly means spicy sausage, when actually 'peperoni' in italian means 'bell pepper' (paprika LOL) and 'pepperoni' doesn't mean anything.
