  1. Make sure the whole arena can hear you!
  2. Could I get a piece of that cake? I'm gonna be awake all through the night to see Yuzu and I suffer if I think he might feel pain during the competition. I'm not sure whether painkillers would be better in cases like this...
  3. Ninja off-season, Ninja on-season
  4. He learned how to troll from the best.
  5. I am probably a minority as well, but before I was corrupted, the first dozens of times I watched LGC, I didn't find the costume distracting at all. For me, it was just a body moving amazingly fast across the ice, couldn't really focus on precise shapes because I usually focus on movements in time with the music and such. I still don't find it distracting. Picutres and photos, on the other hand... Btw, it's amazing to wake up and see that the swans reached team Hanyu! I am so immensely happy!
  6. Am I the only one not able to sleep at all because every time I close my eyes I see Seimei and besti squats?
  7. Well, why would he say that to the press? They never cared about the medical details of injuries or anything, especially if they are light injuries and nothing serious. Plus, it takes time to find exactly the reason of a physical problem, sometimes you guess, sometimes a little rest is enough to make the part heal. I hope this last case is Yuzuru's case.
  8. Eeeeh I'm so excited! Did everyone find everyone yet? I hope so
  9. I'm literally going crazy. I can't wait anymore. Ugh. Ugh. UGH.
  10. Is picking problematic for the knee? I'd say he got a little pain on the knee because of all those landings. Even with a soft knee, it's still hard. Although, picking does involve fast movement, so maybe a strain could come from that. *PROUD DAD!MAX INTENSIFIES*
  11. Proud dad!Max.
  12. I'm not sure. I don't think Yuzu nor Brian are the type of people to lie about injury. They take it too seriously. Luckily.
  13. 1) I actually... like the medals?? But I like anything that's shiny, so maybe I have a bias. 2) I'm relatively calm about Yuzu's right knee. It wouldn't be normal to land quads upon quads and never feel a bit of straining. So, logically, Yuzu told his team and they got him to rest a bit. To me, it's completely fine if Yuzu doesn't go perfectly well in ACI. He didn't lie to the press about his condition: saying まあまあ to me sounds a lot like admitting there was a small problem, but nothing huge (if Brian says he's okay, then he's okay). Tonight, we will see how's he doing in practice, and what kind of runthrough he'll be doing. The body machine is never a perfect one, for no one, and it's really easy for a little something to go wrong. Most of the times, it's not something serious. And a week of rest will do. Maybe, the thing Yuzu is maamaa about is that since he practiced less, now he's a little 'out of' the rhythm he was in some weeks ago. But this is nothing for him. He will pull through.
  14. This. Plus, the same commentators that say Shoma is 'complete' agree with his scores at Lombardia trophy. Those kind of people don't know the difference between 'posing as if you are interpreting deeply' and 'interpreting deeply'. For some people, Yuzuru's Hope and Legacy would be 'colder' than some of Shoma's programs. This is just not true, but with certain people who just don't have the sensitivity to recognize heart and emotion when they see it, you cannot discuss that much. (Sorry, I want to specify that I think Shoma did some heartfelt performances in his senior years. I didn't think Turandot at Lombardia was one of that performances, though) Shoma found one way to express himself, and since it worked with the judges, he is now stuck in that. As far as I'm concerned, he is not that different from Javi, interpretation wise: he has one character, and uses that character over and over again. They both don't explore different sides of themselves when they skate, because they don't see the skate as 'discovering themselves'. Only, since Javi has more experience, I'd say Javi is better in using "different shades of the same palette", per say. To me, no skater is complete until they've shown they can be more than just one character. But, you know, to each his own.
  15. We need a Death Note thread asap... or else the mods might rightfully kill us
  16. Matt needs all the protection in the world... I even cut my hair and dyed them red when I was 15 to cosplay him... Matt needs more justice in the world...
  17. You... you remembered Matt... you remembered my favourite unfortunate character... omg I promise my allegiance to you from now until death!
  18. I love this new Death Note series we're coming up with: Death Note, starring: Light Yagami: Yuzuru Hanyu L: Yuzuru Hanyu Ryuk: Pooh Soichiro Yagami: Brian Orser Misa: The Fanyus The Death Note: SP and FS Layout, or: the thing Yuzuru will use to kill us all. "The names of the elements written on this notebook... shall receive +3 GOE."
  19. I agree with @Yuazz and say that Yuzu has a Light side and a L side. L is all 'justice will prevail' and a cutie, after all. And eats Shortcake.
  20. ...Is Brian Orser Soichiro Yagami?
  21. Well, Yuzu has a fair rival for his murder face xDDD
  22. Now that I think about it, we all kind of try to find Yuzu characteristics in the youngsters - but somehow we always come up empty handed because simply Yuzuru's idea of skating was different since he was very young. Even at 17, commentators said stuff like 'he jumps out of nowhere' and 'he interprets like a mature skater' and although you can find one thing or two in Boyang's big jumps or Shoma's focus while performing, you just don't have all those things together, because Yuzuru is really a prodigy among veeery talented people, and it's not gonna be easy to find someone like him for the next 50 years. Maybe never. I feel like I always say the same things, but I've gotta remind myself of what a genius Yuzuru is, because sometimes commentators and ISU and everyone just doesn't want to aknowledge it - and the way they try to forget it is by trying to raise up other skaters to his level... surely, if they were as good as judges and some commentators think, they would not need the help of politicking, overscoring, tech calls forgotten, and more. If they were as good, they would be on top despite unfavourable judging, just as Yuzuru did. If everyone is a genius, after all, no one's gonna be special anymore, and no one will have to be jealous of anyone.
  23. I love this sappy mood with all people thanking the mods and the satellites for the wonderful environment created on this site <3 It perfectly fits with melancholic nights of waiting to see our Zuzu skating again.
  24. Well, I wouldn't mind that at all, in the end: Yuzuru Hanyu, the only figure skater in history to have attempted and successfully landed 4A in competition. Everyone else chickened out"
  25. It's very interesting, because I think the number of quads you can pull off and still have a complete program PCS wise, depends on how you do those quads. Currently, the way the youngsters have been pulling off these many quads, they've been stealing time to the rest of the performance because of: the speed decreasing, the focus changing from 'skate' to 'jump', and the preparation for the jump itself. So, theoretically, the best way to fit 'many' quads in a performance is NOT to lose speed, NOT to lose focus of the performance as a whole, and take as little time to prepare the jump as you can. Sounds familiar? It's exactly what Yuzuru, and ONLY Yuzuru, does. And that's how he was able to prove that a 4 quad program can be balanced. Now, maybe he won't be able to pull off a clean balanced 5 quad program in September, but I strongly believe he is capable of it, because of those things I just mentioned. I believe he is the only one who's capable of it, right now. Six or seven quads though? I'm not sure even he could do it and I'm not sure he would want to.
