    Same thinking here! Loco was such a dynamic music, while this warhorse is very flat, so it needs a wilder interpretation, which is gonna be a big challenge for Shoma.

    Yeah, definitely trying to capitalise the views... but I bet a lot of programs are gonna do their best and talk about Yuzuru's performance in ACI after it, so it could have been wise to move the program beforehand too. In any case, I'm just happy that we get to know what he was thinking during the performance c:

    It's all part of the plan. He wants to de-mythize the mythical performance so that people will start accepting the idea that he's gonna do better. And then he's gonna do much better.

    Yes, Shoma gives out that vibe more than the 'omg so I really am the best skater out there' vibe. I noticed too yesterday that he didn't look as happy as he could have been with that huge score. In the end, as someone said, 'score is score, performance is performance', so maybe we should follow the example of the skaters we love, and focus on other things besides numbers... even though the temptation is so strong. Especially when one is afraid that their own favourite will get mistreated.

    You know what's hard? When people around you tell you something and you have to stick to your own convictions. I think this might apply to Shoma: I think he's fully aware of how much he can and has to improve, but it's hard to think "I did not deserve that score", because you're always trying your best and when you get rewarded, you're just happy, you know? And I guess this is why I hate unfair judging so much: it's unfair for the skater as well. It's unfair to Shoma. 45 PCS in September is like telling him 'oh, okay, you're good like this, don't really need to change anything'.

    I'm happy about that! Tracy has these happy, relaxed vibes imo and if her student listen to her they will get major help controlling their nerves.

    Javi + PPoS = *GASPS LOUDLY* okay I'll give it a try: 1) Javier changes his FS last moment: choreographed by Johnny Weir, he skates to a Lady Gaga mash-up. The judges love it and he gets showered with 10's in Interpretation. 2) Nathan brings a new EX without jumping elements. Everybody discovers that he doesn't actually skate that bad. 3) At the Olys, Jin Boyang jumps a 4Lz so high and long that he falls among the audience of the first five rows. Although the incident causes a 2 minute break, judges give him +3 GOE because obviously it was a huge jump. 4) Yuzuru Hanyu skates to Sex Bomb as an EX for Olys. No, he doesn't have a fake muscles costumes. Yes, he's still way too ridiculous.

    Remember though, Yuzuru chose to bring Chopin and Seimei back to raise the bar himself. Chopin and Seimei are 'warhorses' of their own rank. Anyone competing against THAT already has the bar raised, nevermind how Yuzuru will skate them (which will surely be outstanding). I'm not sure, but we will see in Cup of Russia, right? It will be Yuzuru's and Nathan's second competition. They will try to do their best, but their programs are already disleveled. Plus, it's Europe, so it shouldn't favour Nathan nor Yuzu too much... But.... you never know.

    If the PCS bar is raised, politicking with those scores will be more difficult, although it will still happen. But during this last year, everytime a judges gave Chen and Chan, or Chen and Hanyu, the same PCS in Skating Skills or Transitions, people noticed it and complained. Sure, complaining doesn't change things, but if the roof is raised, the difference between good skating skills and excellent skating skills will have a chance to be highlighted more. To me, that's actually the greatest priority there is right now, because it just can't happen that years and years of Skating Skills study get completely ignored. After that, an accelerated course of "what are transitions?" for all ISU judges, right?

    Somehow I think I will tolerate the Carmens and the Swan Lakes because I really really love the music... but Turandot and Moulin Rouge? kill me pls thx.

    Except with Javi with IN. Oh, yeah, that Interpretation of Elvis Presley... brough tears to my eyes... so deep... so captivating... so sophisticated... I'm sorry, I'm not a Javi hater at all, I love Javi, I love his charisma, I believe he is one of the top skaters currently and deserves his medals. But. Javi's 10 in Interpretation aren't worth as much as Yuzuru's 10. It's another level of depth of interpretation. Even only for the music that was chosen to be interpreted.

    I'm not sure about Shae, but I'm 100% sure Yuzuru watched them both. Maybe watched them more than one time. Watching himself in the mirror and imitating Seimei's moves during the fight scenes. <3
