  1. I'm not sure what you mean. She posts videos with subtitles after a while, but it's the original videos first! Italy has Eurosport coverage, with the thing, how do you call it, the cable LOL. I'm not sure if other countries have it!
  2. So sorry for the bad quality of the photo. I did this these past three days to pass time and prepare for ACI. I can't wait for Chopin 3.0 any longer <3 (I used Faoi photos as a reference, obvs, because I can't actually draw lol)
  3. I've never listened to Max live, I always counted on ElenaC's youtube/dailymotion account to upload all of his and Angelo's commentary. c: She's usually pretty fast.
  4. I actually do see Yuzuru getting 99,90 or 49,90 if he skates back to back clean, and last. Make Max happy, judges.
  5. I would fail from the first semester, I majored in the opposite: making ugly faces under all cirumstances. Kind of like our lord and savior, but he's too pretty to actually be 'ugly'. He is just a living meme.
  6. Enjoy your time in Canada my friends! I will enjoy if you decide to share your experience here with us, with photos or stories or just feels dump. I know what it's like to travel and to be excited because you're gonna meet a very special person or more than one, and it is one of the best feelings in the world, so I'm happy for who gets to experience it this week
  7. How could we give him low scores? c: He did great. Just, not as great as judges felt when they gave out all those 9.50. Contrary to what some people think about this site (although I'm not sure who these people are and I don't wanna know), no one bashes no skaters (some rarely did) and we aren't delusional. We have our critics and we give out praises when they're due. It's true, musical interpretation is quite subjective. It happens all the time and it will always be like this. I think it really depends on what you take for reference. If you take most senior skaters who are competitive now for reference, then yes, Shoma is better than most of them. He is in the top 6 for his interpretation as well, after all. Although I have to say, today we were discussing in the Italian skating group on facebook, and Max Ambesi said that, comparing Honda's Turandot to Shoma's Turandot, for him they were 10 to 0 for Marin. All I can suggest you to do, if you are curious, is watch different skaters skating to Turandot (you will find hundreds easily LOL) and trying to see the personal interpretation of each of them. Maybe, Shoma will still remain in the top 3 for you, but it's always interesting and educational to watch other skaters skating to the same music!
  8. Yuzuru has a clearly shorter set up, so that's worth more GOE, but I really liked Nathan's 4Lo as well. So Yuzu's is faster and more unpredictable, but both jumps are big and perfectly landed. Could I give you my opinion as well? c: Yes, Shoma did wonderful in both SP and FS, so it's fair that he went over 300. He deserved high points; a bit less that what he got, especially in PCS, in my opinion. With tech like that, you can only really argue a little point here and there for GOE, and his jumps sometimes don't get as low GOE as they should. So, to me, with SP and FS combined, I wouldn't have taken out more that 5 points total. But I don't consider myself a tech expert at all, and I'm not talking with protocols in my hand (although I've read them). What bugs me the most is the PCS. You say he has taken step forward in skating skills and 'other PCS areas'. I would like you to pinpoint the precise steps he took, cause I don't see them. You said it yourself the 'empty spots are there because of the quads', so we can take Transitions out of the PCS he improved. Then you have Skating Skills. From the opinion of people who know FS better than me, I take it he is still doing lots of crossovers, so lots of two-footed skating. His edges are good, but not better than last year. Which is normal, if you ask me, since we're still in September. I would expect improvements to come more slowly, but since it's Olympic season everyone is impatient. Think about Jason Brown or Patrick Chan, the attention that they give to every single step they take on the ice, every movement has its meaning, every edge is highlighted. Jason Brown took less total PCS than Shoma. Then you have composition and performance, and since Shoma went clean, I guess he does deserves high scores here. Still, since the programs are new, and those empty spots during which he does crossovers or stares into the void are there, I would say it's right to give him room for improvement. To me, a 9.50 doesn't give room for improvement. (Reminds me of high school. My italian teacher was so good, I loved all his lessons and studied hard. My first test I got 7.5, and I got almost upset. It was the beginning of the year. That same year, in June, I managed to get a 10 on my test. Improvement takes time. Excellence takes time.) Finally, you have Interpretation of music, and this is where I'm harsh. Shoma's interpretation of both classical pieces is the same. For Vivaldi, and for Turandot. This should already explain everything without the need to add more. If a musician played Vivaldi the same way he played Turandot, he would get fired. Shoma is intense and focused, but his intensity is void of concrete understanding of the pieces he is skating to. Which is normal, since, again, we are in September. Vivaldi is not easy to interpret. At least, in the SP, he tried to give shape to something. In the FS, I didn't even see an attempt. He was too concentrated on quads and you could say interpretation wasn't there at all. So, his PCS in SP shouldn't have been higher than 40, imo, and in FS shouldn't have been higher than 88. In total, that sums up to 305 total score, which is an excellent score for two excellent, but not outstanding and not revolutionary, performances.
  9. Lol OT but since I wasn't in the fandom yet, I'm curious, what was the first general reaction? What about the change from white to purple?
  10. Oooh yes it's definitely gonna be worth it! I can't wait for us European Fanyus to meet up there c:
  11. Omg I love this video! I don't think I've seen all the clips with subs before c:
  12. So, this thursday I went to my trial lesson. I did whatever I could do, and the teachers were very nice. But the course is overall too pricey and my parents can't help me with the cost at all. I'm still waiting for my job to start, so I just can't afford it. I've decided to wait and maybe start it in January when I will be in better economical conditions. I'm kinda sad, but it can't be helped. I'll try to keep learning by myself up until then!
  13. I have low pressure too, and today I'm even sick with the flu. I survived it, but it was a fight, especially during the first half. To me, it looked as empty between one jump and another, as Nathan's LP last season. Maybe at the end of the season, when he was a little more comfortable with the music. But that's all. Interpretatively, it was a lowest imo.
  14. I want him to be clean... but I'm not the one skating incredible things with huge amounts of pressure on my shoulder, so I can really just pray for the best xD
  15. Or maybe fall/pop a quad... and then upgrade that 3Lz.
  16. I expect that as well! Clean SP (maybe not completely perfect, but clean) and a good FS with maybe one major mistake. But hey, if he wants to be clean from start to finish, no one's stopping him!
  17. I had no doubt about that. Judges have to listen to +20 Moulin rouges this year, the usual +20 Josh Groban/Frank Sinatra/other love ballades, so they are very resistent with warhorses. And Yuzuru's programs aren't even warhorses, so it's completely fine. Both Judges and the public will love his programs.
  18. He's always very concise on twitter. In commentaries and on facebook, he lets himself go a little xD
  19. Mmh not sure he would benefit from the higher BV, with the edge issues and prerotation issues, but we'll see c: On another note, Max has of course posted update tweets: And Can you feel the salt behind his tweets? Can you? Because I can. Oh, yeah, the Max who wrote this tweet isn't the same Max who praises Yuzu's records with stars in his eyes. This Max is salted and cold like those fish sticks you keep in the freezer. I bet right now he's wishing there never was a region in Italy called Lombardia, so that Lombardy's Trophy could have never been.
  20. Instead of...? The Salchow is nice and gives him no edge issue. Instead of the Loop? Today it was wobbly, but he has a good Loop too. 4T is his most stable quad.
  21. Adding 4Lz to go over Yuzuru's scores with a 6 quads program is like saying 'I will never do a perfect performance and with the same quality of Yuzuru, so I have to resort to quad party'. I'm not sure Shoma is so ready to accept that mindset, but I don't know him well, so I wouldn't know. And of course he can't beat Yuzu's scores yet. It's still September!
  22. But Shoma knows he can do a lot better than today, with the same tech. His GOE's were average, not really high and not really low, but he can gain a good +10 on TES overall if he lands everything perfectly (which is hard though, since typical Shoma landing isn't perfect by nomenclature) and can gain +5 points on PCS; which would allow him to break Yuzuru's world records in GPF 2015. It's not easy, but it's in sight. Judges are giving him the possibility, they're kinda saying 'yeah, we'll make you get there, just keep up the cleanliness'. So adding a jump that he can't do (from what we've seen so far) is counterproductive, imo...
  23. I think Lombardia has taught Shoma that he doesn't need the 4Lz to play his cards to win all the winnable stuff.
  24. Just a bunch of numbers: on Skating skills, judges 4,5,6 (the infamous, I call them) gave to Jason Brown: 8.75, 8.75, 8.75. on Skating skills, the same judges 4,5,6 gave to Shoma uno: 9.50, 9.25, 9.50. Evidently, they think jumping a quad is a requirement for having 'excellent skating skills'.
