  1. Sailor Hanyu (I... can't... stop... giggling.... )
  2. I love then vs now pics too! Especially Yuzu because you realise that he doesn't change..
  3. Yuzu's 3F evolution..... looking at this, for some reason, I feel like he's actually capable of doing a 4F if he tries...
  4. At the Vancouver games Russian Ice Dancers Domnina/Shabalindid did an "aboriginal dance" for their FS. They wore dark toned body suits with 'aboriginal paint markings'. The whole routine was just.... yikes... and was not received well (for obviously good reasons).
  5. I've actually been having nightmares about him yolo-ing a 4A.
  6. Well, wikipedia and I think his former ISU biography listed his height as 175cm. And while wikipedia is still at 175 cm, his ISU bio now lists his height at 173cm. Meanwhile if we go by people who haven't had reason to lie about their height - Ryuju at 173 and Keiji at 172... I think Yuzu might be around that range.
  7. I still trust in Keiji's 172cm so I'm in the 172cm maybe 173cm camp (Ryuju is 173 cm). I do believe all the confusion was because Javi is lying liar who lied about his height being 175cm and we've been comparing Yuzu's height on that lie all this time...
  8. In light of Gachinski/Kana being talked about... throwback with Yuzu! (or should this be in the Team Russia page?) I think it would be hilarious if Kana and Artur got together. Yuzu's 2 rivals from his junior years... (Yes, he considered Kanako as a rival because while they both got Gold at the 2010 Junior Worlds, Kana had a more successful 1st year in the senior circuit. )
  9. Nah... there wouldn't be much salt, I think. A full quad arsenal was never his dream. He said in that interview where he was still a mushroom that he wanted to win Olympic gold in the games after Vancouver (check)... and do a quint or a 4.5 jump. Now.. if someone landed a 4A in competition before him and it was ratified...... prepare for maximum saltiness ETA:
  10. Some people are so talented and here I am... barely able to draw a stick figure. This artist has great fanarts of other skaters (Shoma, Anna Pogo, PChiddy, Capellini/Lanotte, Rika Hongo, NChen)
  11. This is hilarious! The hosts are so funny! "It's an actual man!" And LOL at Gachinski "Why didn’t you do the jump that time? You could’ve jumped right into me!"
  12. I'm a bit excited because I cheated and looked at his wikipedia page and was amazed at who some of his students were! Looking forward to upcoming memorable programs you'll be introducing!
  13. ..... fine... I guess.
  14. For anyone wanting a more in depth explanation of turns & steps there's a good post by the-real-xmonster of tumblr. Part 1: twizzle, bracket, loop, counter, rocker, and three-turn. Part 2: toe step, chassé, mohawk, choctaw, change of edge, and cross roll. There also good explanations of jumps and spins. Personal self-deprecation: I'm absolutely terrible at learning/understanding/identifying steps. So I'm just looking at that tumblr post all the time trying to soak it in...
  15. I watched this muted because I'm at work (also, I hate the Sex Bomb song) and his ability to land his jumps was really amazing.
  16. I think so? He has GP assignments in COC and TdF
  17. Kohei Uchimura (source) Kohei Uchimura talked with Yuzuru Hanyu at the “50th TV Asahi Big Sports Award” Ceremony: “More like he asked me things one-sidedly. He asked me a lot of technical things like, ‘How different are the springs on the floor when you go overseas?’ and about twisting in gymnastics. Even though I said things only a gymnast would know, he still understood well so I was surprised. He’s very eager to learn. I see that’s why he’s a gold medalist. I watch Hanyu-kun’s performances on TV every time and am motivated. It’s also a judged sport so there are a lot of things in common. Setting a new record each time means he’s raising the degree of perfection in his performance each time. That’s what I want to do too.”
  18. My troll self wants him to have his 2014 Sochi haircut going into 2018 Pyeongchang and for Team Japan to have the same blue jacket... then we'll be able to play spot the difference
  19. Scott...... please get a haircut
  20. I'm paraphrasing a bit from what I remember of the interview translation. Interviewer: What do you think of Yuzu? Female classmates: If you ask him to do a triple jump, he jumps and spins around the hallway Yuzu: Please don't destroy the image of Hanyu Yuzuru ^^ Sidenote: His classmates all look older than him Bonus: Yuzu interacting with a baby and kids! Also this is the video where he says he's popular with little girls.
