There was a Legends episode where they showed the guests how Yuzu was so calm & composed when meeting the Emperor/Empress & PM Shinzo Abe then showed a clip of him being flustered and showed who made Yuzu so flustered. (@ 11:15)
-
Remember the FS sound designer, Keiichi Yano? He had this to say about Yuzu (this was before Sochi in 2014, so it's understandable now how he's so used to Yuzu's requests... hahaha).
-
In relation to onomatopoeias.. Maybe Shoma's onto something about this is how geniuses think. Remember Yuzu's talk with Nomura Mansai translated here? I reread it and found some amusing tidbits..
-
According to Ice Jewels Vol.5: In conclusion: 4Lo - "Shuu-paa" 4T - "Su-pan" 3A - " Su-ton!" Oh zuzu...
-
Well... the "shuu" and "paa" was his answer to the question from NHK 2016 of how he will be jumping his 4Loop in his FS ((he failed in the SP). So it may just apply to his edge jumps.
-
My silly self thinks it's just the sound that happens when he takes off..
-
This might give a bit of explanation (I can't seem to link to the original source). Partly translated/gif'd here.
-
Nobu still didn't get it either even though Yuzu said he's explained it to him before
-
Matsuoka also said after an interview where he asked Yuzu about his 4T "It’s amazing how analytical his mind is. If you were to ask most skaters how they manage quads, most wouldn’t be able to explain and would just say it’s a feeling. But not Yuzuru. The explanation he gave was as clear-cut as a physics experiment." I actually agree that he's someone who can give great technical advise in layman's term. I think the "Shuu" and "Paa" is his own little thing. hahaha Interview was translated here:

Brand new music is such a gamble. It paid off with Seimei but not so much with Hope & Legacy (and I mean this with mainstream audience). I remember an interview with PJ Kwong's podcast where the commentator said that while technically Hope & Legacy deserved the world record and it was beautifully executed he still preferred Seimei. So, I believe it's going to be either a warhorse or Seimei 2.0. He can't afford to experiment on Olympic Season.

2016-2017 season all done! Waiting anxiously for the 2017-2018 season competitions and wishing Yuzu all the best. As usual, please try not to comment on the thread. While I'm hoping for a few more seasons after this one for Yuzu I don't want to jinx it by prematurely reserving a spot on the thread. hehehe I will be updating the links from time to time if I see (or if anyone sends me a link) better versions. Personal thoughts: Hmmmmm... what to say? I think everyone already has said their thoughts on this season. Re: Let's Go Crazy - it's really a complex program but at the same time it's actually very limiting (Every move is precise to the music and if he falls behind even a second, he begins to play catch up) so I understand why he didn't choose to continue using it even though it hasn't been skated to his standards of perfection. Re: Hope & Legacy. I must admit that I didn't get this program when the season started. I appreciate the music (It's Joe Hisaishi! Duh!!) but I couldn't connect with the choreography. It wasn't until I watched the CBC commentary for NHK 2016 that it clicked. When Carol Lane said that it was a program that "needs to be clean" I realised how ambitious this program was because she was right. And I'm glad all his struggles this season came to a glorious and stunning fruition at Worlds. If you listen to different commentaries or read different reviews, even people who are not his fans will attest that it's a performance without flaws - they may nitpick about everything else but they cannot deny it's perfect execution.

Thank you so much for the translations! It's a very interesting read and sound designers should really get more love. Thinking about it music edits can really make or break a program. I greatly appreciate Yuzu's dedication to the 'whole package' of FS. I want to thank Yuzu for using and introducing me to the Omnyoji Soundtrack. hehehe I also love how Yuzu is able to push all these pros (pianist, guitarist, sound designer) into these scenarios and they just go with his whims. This boy is becoming too powerful...

There's no news on what his FS music is. Everything is just speculation.
