  1. Pictures are fine! I start laughing at vids because it's more obvious he's never done laundry in his life... LOL
  2. Oh.... Domestic!Yuzu..... . . . Yeah yeah... his mom prolly does everything but still... he looks so lovely P&G saving the day as always
  3. Can you hear the music in your head like I do?
  4. This is still confusing to me... Why not the same percentage deduction across the board?
  5. Let me bring some beauty to this thread tainted by ISU (LOL)
  6. Looking at it more closely, I don't think it's about a single fed/skater benefiting from the change. I think it's actually a power grab by ISU. They've essentially lost control over scoring in the 2 fields that advanced quickly in the technical side (men and pairs). I mean judges can inflate or deflate PCS with the reason of it's "subjectivity" but BV is BV. The worst they can do to manipulate GOE for a good quad jump/throw is give it a 1 or 0 (probably why they want a +/- 5 GOE - higher chance /score to manipulate). Meanwhile, they're also effectively trying to curtail what's happening with the men's field from happening with the ladies. If you can do a good 3Lz and get high GOEs (by Tano-ing and rippon-ing everything apparently) then there's no incentive for practicing the 3A.
  7. I wonder which shrine is getting more visits.. The Seimei Shrine or the Yuzuruha Shrine
  8. Aaaah... still the decrease in value for jumps are disproportionate and lower... nothing makes sense. Thanks ISU.
  9. Might as well go back to the 6.0 since they seem to be so fond of it. When they increased the BV of quads after Vancouver, they actually consulted the athletes... I've got a funny feeling they didn't for this new proposed BV. If that's the case, then I can sort of understand why the flip is the one most untouched - there are currently only 2 athletes that compete with a 4F in their programs. But I cannot for the life of me fathom what they did with the 4A. This shows that whoever is proposing the BV changes doesn't know the difficulties of jumps. There's a reason why no one has been able to jump a ratified 4A. To give it just a 3 point difference from the 4T... might as well do a very good 4T than can get +3 GOE.
  10. The quads aren't killing this sport's popularity in the USA by the way.. what's killing it is "exclusivity." Ice network would be the best example (so coincidental then that the news of a radical change by ISU is first brought up in an article by Ice Network instead of ISU itself). You need to subscribe and pay to get content otherwise you'd have to wait for NBC to broadcast anything (usually a week later and not even the whole competition). Whereas you go to Japan and it's being promoted by companies/advertisers, if there's any FS news then they talk about it during the sports segments of news broadcasts, etc... I'd take a wild stab that FS in the USA was much more widespread publicly before the existence of Icenetwork. So until FS is more accessible to everyone then you're never going to get FS back to it's height of popularity in the US (unless they've got another 'scandal' or 'golden girl' that they can promote).
  11. Wow... ISU bringing in the stupidity again. The current system in place is by no means perfect but in theory, it should work. The problem is not the rules (although the more they change the rules to be vague, the more it gets worst); the problem is the judging itself. Case in point JGP Riga: a quadless Mitsuki Sumoto outscores a 3-quad program by Roman Savosin both in TES and in PCS. Why? Because miraculously, the rules were applied. Mitsuki's triples were rewarded with 0 or +1s or 2s while Roman's ugly (sorry, no other way to put it) quads received the negative GOEs that it deserved AND he didn't get a PCS rise just because he did quads.
  12. What...? When..? How..? Why..?
  13. LOL... Honestly, I would do the same...
  14. As an introvert myself, I do understand how socialising (in a different language than you're used to no less) can be really draining. I think I'm just happy that his thoughts of TCC as just his training ground or a place to practice has somewhat shifted into a sense of family (regarding Tracy as someone who is like a mom and Gihislain lika a dad) . He doesn't have to or need to socialise outside of TCC but at least now it looks like he's also having fun together with team cricket (that hydroblading class with Shae-Lynn)..
  15. If it's FujiTV (like figure skate tv, Jnats, and Worlds) it's Bolero (most of the time they use the operatic version - there was one year where they did an electric version). It's the theme music for their FS segments. Examples: 2011 Worlds - Opening 2012 Worlds - Ending If it's Asahi (GPF and WTT) then they use Turandot. Example: 2014 GPF It's really good and has an epic feel to it (kinda like anime openings and ending). Anyway, this is why hearing Bolero gives me anxiety /LOL/ reminds me of Nats and Worlds.
  16. Many thanks to @gladi as always. This must've been a monster to translate and well worth the read. Yes! I think there were some comments about being world champion heading to the Olympics hasn't work out well in the past but let's not forget that Yuzu has always been different and defied expectations. He's someone who is confident enough to declare that he wants to be the "absolute champion." And I do feel that this Olympics is especially exciting for him. In Sochi it was mostly him and Patrick Chan battling it out but now we've got 5 other people (plus a couple of other skaters aside from the 'Big 6' that might surprise everyone) equally vying for the Gold. This is exactly the type of competition that he's striving for. LOL at Brian just casually mentioning 4A like it's no big deal. I do feel that it's more of a case of 'if you're gonna do crazy jumps, do them in a controlled environment where I can see you.' If I remember correctly, when they did that long distance coaching back in 14-15 season, Brian gave instructions for practice and we all know how Yuzu followed that one... I think this is why Brian's seems more calm at ease with with everything. (I also think he's secretly excited to have Yuzu be the first to land a ratified 4A - he is Mr. Triple Axel after all! It'll be great if his student becomes Mr Quad Axel. LOL) I do feel that part of the media day they arranged at TCC is due to this. They know that Yuzu is held at such a different standard than any other skaters and will be heavily criticised for 'repeat programs' even though he's not actually the first skater to repeat a program during the Olympic cycle. It makes me very happy too Brian! It's also great to read about Yuzu and TCC in a non-training environment and him just having fun with everyone. I hope this means that he's starting to expand his view of TCC (and Canada) as not just his training/practice ground but a place to have fun and enjoy skating as well.
  17. Hahaha.. sorry for the confusion as well! The post before you was about Timshel so I thought you were referring to that. nonchan from tumblr did a translation of his retirement speech.
  18. There's this post from the tatsuki-machida tumblr.
  19. Too many things happening at the same time!! JGP, Russian skates, China skates... and yet zuzu's not entirely perfect runthrough has me shook the most.... The sharpness of his movements, that brief spiral going to the 4T-Lo-3S, the distance and height of the 4T-Lo-3S, that final spin with the red UA. /shook/ Also, he didn't pop the final lutz... just marked it /sweat nervously/.... ETA: So his love of kids doesn't include quadmonsters... hahaha.. His side eye at Gogolev still cracks me up.
  20. Maybe Yuzu should skate to Twilight instead of Han Yan
  21. Yuzu the cheeky brat during TCC media day.
