  1. I tend to think it is better if a sort of media alert doesn't start with him, but with a more collective preoccupation, otherwise it would be dismissed as a "fanyu fantasy". I really wish a good deal of a technical scoring to be done automatically in a near future, and I doubt ISU would do it by themselves, they "need" pressure, by media AND Olympic Committee (who from time to time demand them to prove figure skating is a sport, with objective judgement, and who may become less lenient now that technical means could be found, and have indeed been found for gymnastics).
  2. This reminds me of a conservatory teacher proposing to work for the year on Debussy's Chansons de Bilitis to a beautiful and charming, but very chaste (major though, Jeffrey) foreign student before she learnt French, who accepted for the (beautiful) music and only months later realised the meaning of Pierre Louÿs' poems. I don't know what are Yuzuru Hanyu's thoughts now! The same for Let's go Crazy, by the way : we know he doesn't skate this program anymore because he doesn't have rights on the music, but should he have the rights, would he skate it in the same costume, now he knows what Purple Pants of Sin mean? While, as @rockstaryuzu said, he is very Prince-y in them (rather more discreet) and changing the costume may alter the interpretation.
  3. It is well known that future mothers feel a urge to clean everything some time before giving birth. Does this scene relate to just before the arrival of the new SP?
  4. Alena Kostornaia is 1m55 now! (She announced 1m53 during confinement, in May if I am not mistaken, saying it was her mother's height and she didn't expect to outgrow her; and she was 1m50 last season.) http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00102764.htm Nothing surprising if recovering her 3A takes some time. I hope she can also get a quad. The sad thing, is that I see her as less and less likely to be able to skate a program (for instance, a gala program) with Yuzuru Hanyu, and 3A.
  5. I don't think they would, just ahead of Olympic Winter Games. I don't know how those things happen usually, but I would rather imagine "a hint" to a government if they perceived a member of a coaching team or an official etc, as a threat, so that they don't send him or her.
  6. Really? I thought it would count as the solo quad. Of course not as an Axel element, as this has explicitly to be double or triple.
  7. They are at least, very good older brother and younger sister. Otherwise, I don't think Alexandra Trusova has the same artistic needs as him, but they both have this "undomitable" side.
  8. Well found! I didn't know Fawlty Towers, it looks greeaat!
  9. If I were to tell who, among Russian Ladies, is likely to have a longer career as a competitive skater, I would say Alexandra Trusova.
  10. And I wish somehow to hang panels to such ceilings to protect skaters from virus in case audience is allowed in...
  11. Papa Duckzuru leading and teaching his ducklings...
  12. This makes me think... I'm such a new fanyu that I've never seen "a new program of his", I mean, at the moment when he skates it for the first time. I had never missed it because I had not thought of it. Now... Above all, I thought he had had his new programs a long time ago, not long after Worlds. Why did he wait so long? Certainly not procrastination... Could it be that he was training and progressing at such a pace as to have to wait that long before deciding what he would ask Jeffrey Buttle? It could be "merely" the 4A too : I join @Whoopiewoop, he's a perfectionist performer and a 4A is so enormous, it must probably be approached in a specific way, maybe he wouldn't want a program with a possible 3A or quad replacement possible, rather a program precisely timed to allow and enhance his 4A. A 4A at short program would be quite risky, we have already discussed it, but he's Yuzuru Hanyu, isn't he? Of course these are just baseless words, we will discuss it extensively and he won't fail to surprise us all. He's Yuzuru Hanyu, isn't he?
  13. Somebody found this old 2019 meme from Visit Miyagi : Harako : https://theholidayandtravelmagazine.blogspot.com/2017/10/harako-meshi-or-salmon-roe-rice.html
  14. In general, I don't think it is dangerous for the audience if the volume of air and the ventilation are calculated (this calculation being made necessary by of the duration of the event), because they breathe normally and are unlikely to get infected unless there is a sufficient viral charge in the air. But it is much more dangerous for the skaters, because they breathe very deep, they get exhausted, so I think (no hard proof, it is just sense) that they are much more at risk to get infected even with a low viral charge. And the convection of the air in the skating rink, makes that the soiled air from the tribunes rises along the walls, then along the ceiling, then goes down to the centre of the rink, unless there are ceiling "walls" forcing most of the soiled air of the tribunes to go down before passing above the rink (this may also have some energy saving effect by the way). This being said, no symptomatic spectator will be admitted, and all will wear masks. And above all, the circulation of the virus in the general population is probably very low in Japan. So...
  15. Why should this be a scandal? Better to work with affinities. (The same at Plushenko's.) And did he choreograph for her at all in the past? Yes but Daniil Gleichengauz is not the only choreograph in Team Tutberidze : Eteri Tutberidze is another. And I think it would be stupid to try to adapt a choreo with a student whose skating you don't feel at all.
  16. I find a tremendous progress from the times when ISU's CoViD answer was to add an event allowing direct contact between the athletes and a thousand spectators for Worlds.
  17. Oh, fine! There are already 6! Crystal Memories (eggmories?) : the Winter Egg (œuf) course. http://www.thejewelleryeditor.com/media/images_thumbnails/filer_public_thumbnails/filer_public/ca/a5/caa53b69-0214-4e66-8fdd-a885fdbe7d62/faberges-winter-egg-of-1913.jpg__760x0_q75_crop-scale_subsampling-2_upscale-false.jpg Masquerade? There are other candidates. Such as this one : Seimegg? http://magentaspice.blogspot.com/2011/04/easter-rabbits-and-faberge-eggs.html Edit : the sixth in the series. Hana ni Naregg? https://darienite.com/event/faberge-eggs-fine-art-fine-craft-workshop-darien-library
  18. I like the video too : she's so playful!
  19. Not exactly. If it can reassure you (or worry you, in case a real second wave arrives), I will write a post in answer to yours in the coronavirus thread..
  20. Well, does this fit better on this thread, or on the general Yuzuru one? Sekkisei HongKong proposes a pack of 4 products in a "big sample" size for HK$ 174, with an Otoñal umbrella as a "gift". Honestly, I like this umbrella.
  21. This 3A was not underrotated, was it?
  22. Another Romeo and Juliet! But this is not on the same music as the opening of Alexandra Trusova's and Daria Usacheva's programs, aka R&J1? (Of course it is not Prokofiev's Knights' Dance as the end of their programs.)
