Your are neglecting the experiences Yuzuru had in the last few years and its effect on his thinking and personality. Reading your post made me think of a kid Yuzu who hasn't gone through the pain of injuries and struggled the way 23 year old Yuzuru did. Each and every thing he had experienced in the past years has had an effect on his personality and changed him in some way and I think that this season in particular may have a life changing impact on him. If you factor in everything he's been through you will find that Yuzu now is probably really satisfied with himself and not as upset as you think. Again, I don't know what he thinks and I am only guessing but I truly believed that he matured a lot and is more aware of his abilities and limitations, he will not push himself into unnecessary risk to prove himself when he already did it ten times over. Aso, being a perfectionist does not mean you don't compromise because that is the first lesson life teaches you. One last thing, Yuzu did win by a landslide. the men's competition was the only one with a big difference in points and he did it with a watered down layout and a bad injury. Yuzuru knows more than anyone else how much he has sacrificed for that win and if you add it to the score you will see that he won with the biggest margin ever. That was a victory over his rivals, his injury, and everyone who ever dismissed him and no win can be bigger than that.

Is there any fan project to congratulate Yuzu on his Olympics gold? I haven't seen any so if someone is doing something please let me know, I want to participate

My comment may have sounded harsh but I wasn't really criticising them, it was just an observation. Both Nathan and Shoma seem to have trouble in competition were they are the favorites and perform better when Yuzu is around (since he is always the favorite in any competition he enters). I know what they do is hard which is why the issue of nerves must be addressed to make it easier for them to land those jumps and not hurt themselves. I am sure with more experience they will get better at it but maybe they should follow Boyang's example and stop pushing for more difficulty and focus on stabilizing what they have (Shoma kind of did that when he downgraded to four quads so there is hope)

Agreed, both Nathan and Shoma crumbled under pressure before while Boyang proved he is strong mentally. However, Those two have the the judges on their side and Boyang doesn't, so they are going there with an advantage over him

He does?!!!! What makes you think that? TBH I don't really know what we will be getting at Worlds. If he finally manages to be clean in both programs there he will most likely win due to his BV, but can he really do it? Though he may do well since it is a low pressure competition and he is almost guaranteed a medal Not trying to be mean to Nathan, I really want him to do well. I just don't understand why people don't see that he was struggling all season just because he won all his competitions. Medals matter, but when trying to predict results, the actual performances matter more.

That's a nice choice for the icon

I don't know know if is just me but the Olympic champion theme doesn't show an icon and I keep losing it among the 100+ tabs I have open

It's not Shoma's responsibility to get anyone a spot and I am sure he and the other two will do their best anyway

Yay, they finally said it..Now I can move on with my life I hope Yuzu's recovery goes smoothly and he comes back next season stronger than ever

I don't really see that.. just because they are training together doesn't really mean anything especially with how young Stephen is. Yuzu is more likely to feel the need to take care of him than to be challenged by him. Also, Yuzu have plenty of competition in the quadsters and others that he himself acknowledged many times and they are more than enough motivation if he needed any, which I don't think he does because his motivation has always been internal. And I don't understand why you would think that Yuzu needs Stephen or any other skater to push him to improve his skating or components when it has been his goal for years. Remember the many times he talked about his ideal performance and the importance of both technique and artistry. Yuzu did not need anyone to push him toward that, he wanted it from the beginning and worked hard for. We can easily see the results in his performance now

I am quite annoyed with JSF right now.. There is absolutely no way they do not know his condition and whether he can participate or not, this delay is totally unnecessary and very annoying
-
Why so early?!! We can wait longer.. Just do it after the Gala, it would be perfect timing then I know it's just a rumor, but it really sounds like something they would do
-
Yes, that is a pretty normal feeling if you have a little brother or sister.. Although the desire to strangle them is usually the dominant feeling Anyway, I don't think the article says anything we didn't know already. He has been saying since day one that he wants to go to Worlds if he can. He is Yuzu, I don't think he is physically capable of saying I don't want to compete

Seriously ISU, try to be more subtle in your manipulations.. It is so easy to tell who exactly those new "guidelines" will benefit and who it would penalize Sure you can do better than this at appearing neutral

I think we will know more about his condition soon. It is almost certain he is skipping Worlds at this point but we still don't know whether his treatment will prevent him from skating at all or if he can do light activities during rehab (like choreographing a new program maybe). Also, it seems that people assume he needs bed rest or something which is not true. treatment for these kind of injuries usually requires movement so that the joint doesn't lose its flexibility. I still think that we will be told about the condition of his ankle because he has been so open about it and he knows we are all worried. I don't see him disappearing without a word after all that
-
Wait... You mean I have to start doing this boring thing called real life for the next 7 months Joking aside, I don't think he will disappear completely. He is the newly crowned Olympic champion (for the second time) and will have to do some media stuff here and there because of it, so I think we will be fine

I expect Yuzu to either stick to his mission of introducing new music to FS and going for something totally different (most likely Japanese), or he may start checking things of his list of music others skated to that he liked (could be war horses or something his favorite skaters did before) I personally would love it if he continued skating to Japanese music for the free and tried fun or edgy programs for the short
