Probably a stupid question but I am a bit confused on how the GOE for combos is calculated with the new system. Before the GOE added a fixed value to the score but now it is a percentage, so how is the GOE calculated now? Is it a percentage of the combined BV of jumps in the combo or is it based on the highest BV jump?

Yuzuru is definitely going to be fine no matter what rules they put in place. It is the perk of being a well rounded complete skater with amazing technique and artistry, which should make it easier for him to adjust. IMO it is skaters with clear deficiencies (technical or artistic) who should worry when rules change because it may hit them where it hurts. Though Yuzu's biggest problem is overthinking and it can happen with any set of rules

The biggest problem with the ISU is the lack of flexibility. There were some good proposals that were rejected just because of the wording (like the usp stick proposal), which could have been amended slightly and passed based on the discussions happening Also, I don't understand the fans of FS at all. Why all the outrage about the backloading rule change (when it is just a bonus added for a reason and now scaled back because it is being abused) while the biggest issue of rejecting proposals about preventing conflict of interest and national bais are barely mentioned. We all know that judging is the biggest problem in FS right now and that is where our and the the ISU's focus should be.Yet, we are spending all our time and energy discussing the backloading rule, which really is not that important since good skaters will still be successful with the new system as they did with the old (unless backloading is the only thing they are good at, then they need to work on improving other areas, which is a good thing IMO)

Why did no one bring up the fact that quad combos are most likely to disappear if they forbid quads repetition, which also limits variety in a program (or did i miss that)

If he is odd then I am odd to. I find it very normal because I live the same way, and like Yuzu, I have been criticized to death because of it. People (my mother included) have been lecturing me about going out and doing things ( stuff they like to do) because they can't accept that I am perfectly happy the way I live and don't really care Basically everyone is thinking of their own interests and apply it to Yuzuru. They think that he must be missing something important because they would feel that way if they were in his place. This is understandable behaviour because we usually judge things based on our own experiences, but I sure hope he won't be nagged about it because it is certainly annoying to be constantly told how you are living wrong and what you should do to be happy (as if you can't decide that for yourself )

Yuzu is not Javi so we shouldn't expect Brian to approach them the same way. It is normal when dealing with people we know to try and talk to them in a way that they would respond to better. Brian knows Yuzu and he chose the way he thought would work best. I think Yuzu would have said yes even if he was unhappy about it because he is not a selfish person. So, it makes sense that Brain would not just ask but rather talk to him about it and watch for a reaction (basically what Yuzu would not say openly).

Unlike with Boyang, I don't see Jason fitting into TCC but who knows, it may work. I am sure if that move is real then they already discussed it, so good luck to Jason Though I admit I am not happy with USFSA being in TCC (interpret that the way you want because I am not explaining)

You are off course entitled to your opinion but for me personally his Ina Bauer is spectacular. His is my favorite Ina Bauer among men and women and I love the hand flourishes he likes to add to it to express the music. I would really miss it if he stops doing it

Except they clearly say in the "reductions for errors section"that a UR jump (sign <) gets a -2 to -3 GOE. Now I may be doubting my math skills but this seems clear cut to me, a UR jump cannot be more than +3 GOE no matter how pretty it is, right?!!!!!!

I tried to do it with the Olympics results (since it was a very good competition but everyone made mistakes) and got really confused The ISU are destroying my self esteem and confidence by making me doubt my intelligence and math skills
