I think skipping the men's discipline in the Olympics is a good idea, I know for a fact I won't be doing it as just thinking about it is stressful. And yes for the teams placement in the team event, although someone have to explain to me how the whole competition works first Also, I wouldn't mind more bonus questions, I quite like them (even though I usually get them wrong)

I couldn't watch that performance live I was so stressed and nervous I felt sick and stayed in my bed until I saw the score on the live results page. I remember my hands shaking so bad I had to try few times to be able to press the refresh button.

Agree with Sombreuil, do it the way that works for you. We are only having fun while you do the work so it is only fair that you decide Now to go find a name randomizer to pick the podium for Canadian nats

Yes #bringPoohtoPyeongchang Though we need to be careful that this doesn't turn into Yuzuru needs Pooh at the Olympics. We don't want him to be mocked because of it (which some people already do)

sorry, can't read Japanese... What is this about?

Not bad, it looks like my brilliant strategy of picking the names I recognize for the podium and pray they win actually worked Thanks @Joey Glad to hear that you are feeling better and your recovery is going well

As this is not a normal situation, his layout may not be a made by choice but a necessity. Yuzu is stubborn but not stupid, so he will definitely go with the best layout he knows he is capable of executing at the Olympics

What Patrick needs right now is to get his confidence and motivation back, so I think this is a good strategy. Good luck to Patrick, I really want to see him at his best since this is his final season

Come on people, positive thoughts We did not get any bad news so why are we actively trying to create it and worry ourselves sick, that is really unproductive. Yuzuru will be fine, he is back on ice and that is confirmed. The rest is up to him and his team and us worrying will not help him any, but will definitely make us miserable, so cheer up and have fun watching the US nationals, the judging is hilarious

I agree with both of you and xeyra, there is some shade there, though not as bad as some other articles. It is a bit shallow with no real analysis or even research. Also, Yuzuru is "fixated" on quads and Nathan who was the first to land five different quads in the same program is not

If I watched such a movie without knowing Yuzu or that it is based on true events I would be the first to slam it for being over exaggerated and unrealistic When you think of all he's gone through it really is like an overdramatic movie that would make me roll my eyes every time they introduce a plot twist To think that this is his reality and that he has come back after every set back is really admirable

The media is fickle, always chasing ratings and clicks rather than providing an accurate picture of a situation. I don't really care what they say about Yuzuru or who they think is the GOAT because they will be changing their narrative the moment a new interesting angle presents itself. Yuzu's accomplishments cannot be erased by the short term memory of the media and his place in history is already cemented whether he wins the Olympics for the second time or not I do agree with you that it would be interesting and even fun to see how the different media outlets handle advertising their skaters and all the ignorant pieces we will see about the sport before the Olympics

Happy new year to Yuzu and all satellites orbiting the planet May the new year bring happiness, joy and healthy ankles (back, knees and other body parts are welcome as well)

Interesting post from Jaki Wong, there are things I agree with and of course others I don't but I thought it would be good for starting discussions on some of the points he makes http://www.rockerskating.com/news/2017/12/27/opining-on-the-isu-judging-system-5-calls-to-action I am personally interested in what you guys think about lowering the BV for all elements and not just the jumps to keep the balance with PC

No, not the curls Why Nathan? Why?

I think Soma and Nathan's issue in the LP is related to the changing layout, not that it is different layout, but because it is harder to prepare a contingency plan in case of mistakes. If it is a layout you are used to, the body can be on autopilot while the mind is working on a recovery plan. However, if the layout is new both mind and body will be confused and that is how you lose focus. Even Yuzuru had that same problem before when he tried to change the layout for ACI and lost focus because his body was trying to do something while the mind was telling it to do another. On the other hand, He did not have problem coming up with a recovery plan at 4CC because he was working with a layout he knew very well and was able to make the changes without losing focus. I don't know what is going on with Javi anymore, he has been having problem with his LP for more than a year now so I hesitate to use him as an example of someone who is skating the same old layout

I made a comment after the men's free at nationals that Shoma and Nathan's problem with the LP was not sticking to one layout, Shoma has just confirmed my suspicions SHOMA REVEALS HIS NEW LAYOUT FOR THE OLYMPIC FREE SKATE Yuzu is really light years ahead when it comes to strategizing and being prepared

Merry Christmas Everyone

I refuse to worry about Yuzuru not having a competition before the Olympics I will firmly believe that he will be ready and deliver his best performances there I will have only positive thoughts from now on no matter what, and I don't care about reality or whatever That is my resolution for the new year Go Yuzu, show the world who is the champion, I believe in you
