  1. Sad for Roman and all the other skaters training in Canada. Everything sounds so familiar, just like how things were in Japan two weeks ago, although ice rinks here are still available for their club members. I guess the closure of the rinks was imposed by the provincial government, like in Quebec a few days ago. I see people tweeting the same thing about Ontario now...
  2. My favorite Yuzu moments in 2019-2020 season: When Yuzu broke Skate Canada Jinx When Yuzu broke the second GP Jinx Nice to see you again in a competition, 4Lz! ...and 4A! When we saw slightly different Ballade No.1 costume Blight young leaf SEIMEI Happy SEIMEI after breaking 4CC jinx as well ETA: Not a Yuzu moment but I was also truly happy to be able to see @Kizuna again at NHK 2019 after NHK 2017 and see healthy, happy Yuzu at the end of it!
  3. My translation (cross posting from Worlds thread): "It is disappointing that it has been canceled, but I am also feeling a sense of relief since it would lower the risk of spreading the infection among not only the skaters but also the audience and the organizing staff members, even for a little bit. I want to thank ISU for making an effort until the last minute to give us the place to compete in this circumstance. I think this cancelation gave me a chance to give another thought to this new coronavirus and virus infection in general. Thanks to this decision, I feel that I have to be even more careful in my daily life now. And I want to thank you so much, everyone, who has been supporting me until the end of this season. I will continue training for the next season, to go beyond my current limit. "
  4. Someone on twitter made this to make people laugh out of frustrations caused by the circumstances around CV Translation: Caption: "Here we go!" Do - "Doyou (=Suturday) is doki-doki! (exciting)" Re - "Lenor and I have teamed up for a new product..." (T/n: You know, we can't differentiate L and R...) Caption: "Who made him wear glasses? (*dying message)" Mi - "Minasan, (=Guys,) do you really need such a faster shutter speed to shoot this?" Fa - "Hello, everyone who is watching the fansite. This is Yuzuru Hanyu. This time, Rotte has opened its fansite. Woohoo! ...Den! (=Ta-dah!)" Caption: "The guy who uses "Den" most frequently in Japan" So - Photographer: "Sore, Sore ii! (=That's it! That's nice!) Ah, yes. That's what we want." La - "Iikashira? (=Well?)" (T/n: Again, we can't differentiate L and R) Caption: "Oh, yes, it looks so good on you, sir!" Si - "Xièxiè, dàjiā, zhīchí. (=Thank you, everyone, for supporting me)"(T/n: I cannot transcribe the following part, but according to the caption, he seems like saying that he loves his fans?) OK, let's sing together!
  5. It says JFS decided not to send their synchro team to World Synchro 2020 considering the situation regarding COVID-19, the same as they didn't send their skaters to CdP. The championships itself hasn't been canceled yet.
  6. Or Chopin can fight with other Chopins, like: Chopin 1.0 Axel Sandwich (3A,4T, 3Lz+3T) v.s. Chopin 1.1 Battle Instinct (4T, 3A, 3Lz+3Tfall with a smile) Chopin 1.2 Unfulfilled Goal (Chopin 1.0 in the Chopin costume 2.0) v.s. Chopin 2.0 Absolute Majesty (4S, 4T+3T, 3A) Chopin 3.0 Ultimate Layout (4Lo, 3A, 4T+3T) v.s. Chopin 3.1 PyeongChang (4S, 3A, 4T+3T, with Chopin 3.0 choreo and costume) Chopin 4.0 Be the Music (4S, 4T+3T, 3A with Chopin 3.0 Stsq and Chopin costume 4.0) v.s. Chopin Ci I-promise-not-to-skate-this-program-in-this-outfit-again (Only Stsq of Chopin 3.1, in Zigeunerweisen costume) Noooo I can't think of another matchup
  7. Wish I could choose both H&L and Change It was also very hard to choose between Masquerade and Hana Ni Nare, or POTO and Hana Wa Saku By the way, where is Fred? Is he the hidden boss you'll fight with after beating everyone?
  8. Sekkisei Miyabi ads in Fukuoka station
  9. He is going to be on the cover of anan magazine again
  10. I guess the tweet is based on this article, but it doesn't exactly say she is doing it in her practice already. It says she is planning on doing it. According to Mitsuhiro Nakamura of Fuji, Wakaba is aiming for 4Lz because, among all types of jumps, she can jump the highest when she does Lz. Also, she wants to include two 3Ts, (in the FS, I guess, as the second jumps of combinations) so she wants to try 4Lz rather than to try 4T considering the risk of popping it. However, being able to do 3A is an advantage in ladies' singles, and Wakaba is getting close to taming it, so I guess she will work on 3A first. ETA: fixed a typo
  11. I agree with 1 and 2. As to 3, the regional restrictions affect the upload videos as well. For example, you cannot find archived videos of GPS and ISU Championships when you access the site from Japan. You can watch these videos using VPN if you know they are geo-blocked and hidden, but for those who don't know, these video doesn't exist.
  12. When they canceled the Worlds in Tokyo after 311, ticket holders could get a refund, so they will refund if they cancel Worlds this time for sure.
  13. Yup. You've got it right. Although there hasn't been an official announcement from JSF so far, they seem to have called off sending team Japan to CdP. According to Chitose's Instagram post, she was informed about that after competing at Aich Championships and realized that it was her last competition this season. They held the competition without spectators. She says that she got upset because she had no adrenaline rush. She also says that she was sad because she could not hear any cheer even though she skated with no mistake.
  14. So this is why Knierims withdrew before FS at 4CC... Must have been tough for both of them. Wish Jessica and Brian good luck at Worlds. Found an episode of a documentary series "冰雪道路" (probably means "Ice road") by CCTV features Vincent Zhou and Beverly Zhu (Yi Zhu) seemingly filmed during last summer and autumn. Narration and half of the conversations are in Chinese but you can see what is happening since they are both English speakers and the coaches and the choreographers they are working with speaks English. The focus is probably on how their families support them while traveling across countries to train, to make programs, to compete, and while undergoing an injury. You'll find footage of Yuzu at PyeongChang and Saitama in the introduction of Vincent and Jeff Buttle.
  15. Two Three (Haru yo koi, Masquerade, POTO) more sample photos added to the Amazon page for "FIGURE SKATING ART COSTUMES" by Satomi Ito
  16. Sad news on top of other depressing news regarding CV, etc. Hope Han Yan is OK. Hope this is not CSA punishing him for speaking up or something. Hope this is just an error.
  17. PyeongChang 2018 FS by NHK Announcer: Takaki Toriumi. He has been working for NHK since early 90’s and done play-by-play announcement for NHK Trophy many times. Commentator: Takeshi Honda. Former single skater. Two-time Olympian and World bronze medalist. First 4CC champion and six-time national champion. He is also the first Japanese skater who landed a quadruple jump in a competition. He is now coaching in Osaka. He had been training in Ice Rink Sendai in early 90’s with Shizuka Arakawa. During 6-minutes warm-up FS [video] Interview with Yuzu after FS [Video]
  18. This program has a magical, mystical power to enrapture people and make even the most modest audience stand up and cheer for him at the end. I've seen it happened multiple times, with my own eyes. Yuzuru Hanyu could not resist imitating the choreo after watching it in FaOI. After skating LGC as an encore he took a bow to the audience kissing his biceps, wearing Ballade No.1 ver. 2.0 costume. I think we should watch this program from time to time to laugh and to lighten up a bit!
