Yuzu's performances from some past DOIs aired in the TBS (terrestrial digital) version of DOI2020 last night: Highlights of Mission Impossible II from DOI2008 Highlights of "Hello, I love you" from DOI2012, day 1. He said that he could not get over his shyness while throwing his T-shirt at the end, and promised to practice more to be able to throw it with style.

My favorite costumes are Origin 1.0 and 2.0, SEIMEI 2017-2018 and 2020, Etude, R&J 1.0, White Legend, LGC white/purple, Haru yo Koi. I love Ballade no. 1 as a program and think all of the Ballade costumes suited it, but I am not sure if I would find them fascinating if they were worn by mannequins and displayed in a museum. But the first version looked ethereal in a darker arena when he debuted it in a show.

It depends on how the situation will be around December, but at the moment, it is impossible for a Canadian coach to come to Japan. Rough translation: Q: Do you like summer? A: No. (Laughs) I sweat a lot, so I get sopping wet in summer. Q: Can you swim? A: Yes, I can. I took swimming lessons when I was a kid and have learned swimming. Q: What is your favorite ice cream flavor? A: Difficult question... Caramel, I guess? Q: Do Swiss ice creams taste good? A: Dairy products generally taste good here, so I think ice creams taste good as well. Q: Can you touch cicadas? A: No, I can't. (Laughs) I used to love them when I was a kid... I used to love insects in general and had a beetle/beetles as a pet/pets, but I somehow became unable to get along with them that way. Q: What would you do when you find one in your home? A: I would jolt and panic, saying, "What should I do? What should I do???" in my mind but somehow manage to let them go outside.

Transcription from 15:54, excerpted from the transcription of this whole press conference provided by JNPC https://www.jnpc.or.jp/archive/conference/records?utf8=✓&year=2018 "ただ、もし羽生結弦が4 回転半もしくは 5 回転に挑む、試合で絶対に入れると決めた場合は、それは確実に表現の一部にします。それは言えます。その選手が、それぞれの選手が、そういうふうに思えるかどうかはわかりません が、僕のスタイルはそこですし、何より僕がフィギュアスケートをやっている理由は、そういうところにほれ込んだからであって、そういった演技にほれ込んできたから、こうやってオリ ンピックで、この種目で金メダルを目指したいと思ったわけであって、だから、難易度と芸術 のバランスというのは本当はないんじゃないかな、芸術は絶対的な技術力に基づいたものである、と僕は思っています。" He answered a similar question at FCCJ as well. Interpreter (27:54-): "However, I believe, and this is the case not only for figure skating but for other forms of art including ballet and musicals as well, that this artistry is very much based on having the correct technique and a strong foundation at the core of everything. It is upon these that the artistry is built, and without the strong foundation and the basis in technique, it is not possible to have the full artistry required as well. " (*But I am not sure if my transcription of the interpreter is 100 percent accurate...)- 60 replies

excerpted from p.74 All from "蒼い炎"- 60 replies

DOI day2 Men random memo

DOI day2 Free Dance random memo: According to the commentators, Utashin are training under coach Rie Arikawa when they are in Japan. She is the one who coached Utana when she started figure skating and ice dancing. Rie is a former ice dancer partnered with Kenji Miyamoto, and they were coached by Yutaka Higuchi, who has been coaching Shingo in Japan. So basically Utashin have been learning skating from coaches in the same school since before pairing up, and they say that is making it easier for them to skate together. KoKo said they chose to go back to their old program since this is pre-Olympic season and they need to get results to be able to compete at Olympics. Love Story is the music they can skate comfortably and they enjoyed performing today.

DOI wasn't as long as the broadcaster announced... Here are my random reports on today's SP.
-
So, Dreams on Ice will take place today and tomorrow. DOI this year is going to be a bit like a mock match. All the skaters are going to skate their SP today and FP tomorrow. TBS Channel 1 will broadcast the event live from 18:55 until 22:00 tonight and 13:55-17:30 tomorrow. (JST) TBS (their terrestrial digital channel) will also air the highlights on September 14, 01:20-02:50. (JST) There will be a paid stream provided by Ticket Pia as well (costs 3,500 yen per each day) But today's SP will coincide with RD at Russian Test Skate...

Yuzu and many of the yuzu-related products are seasonal and not produced in large quantities. I think that is why you and your friend could not find it. Here, December is the best month to look for yuzu or other products using yuzu in supermarkets, because we have a tradition of taking a yuzu bath on the winter solstice. http://slowsoak.com/japanese-yuzu-bath-complete-guide/

I love kiwifruit and yuzu they are both refreshing. Yuzu goes well with salt or salty food as well. I sometimes make yuzu dressing using yuzu juice or make pasta with dried yuzu peel, cabbage, and sakura shrimp. Although I cannot make it myself, yuzu-flavored pickled Japanese radish or Chinese cabbage is delicious. Yuzu juice goes well with grilled fish as well.

Yuzuru Hanyu on Wikiquote (discussion thread)
sweetwater replied to Henni147's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
@Henni147 Thank you for including some of the quotes from my post. I was going to make a simplified list of quotes that might suit the Wikiquote and post here, but you were much faster than me. I saw the draft, too, and I have some suggestions and requests. I was not sure about adding this one to Wikiquote, because what he is talking about here is his experience of "tackling" (confronting) with Patrick Chan, not with some personal challenges or obstacles. He is indirect, but it is obvious to those who watch the source, and he talked about this experience in other interviews as well. I think a quote like this one should rather be introduced with full context (including his respect toward his rival) and background info. I really loved this one and thought about proposing to add to Wikiquote, so I was happy to find you picked this one as well. If a quote can have two sources, how about merging "逆境は嫌いじゃないので。" together? Because they were originally together, and the first half of this comment also sounds very symbolic of him. Here is a draft proposal for the draft: 逆境は嫌いじゃないので。弱くなってる自分がすごく嫌なんです。それは本当に嫌いですけど、でも弱いというのは強くなれる可能性があると思ってるんで。 Translation: I don't dislike adversities. What I dislike is myself being weak. I really hate it, but I think being weak means that you have the potential to become strong. Source: Excerpt from a press conference at the NHK Trophy 2014, held on 30 November 2014, aired 30 November 2014 inネオスポ on TV Tokyo and 15 December 2014 in News Every on NTV. (*The press conference wasn't the freeskate press conference but another press conference held next day, so I altered your description of the source. He finished 4th, so he didn't participate in the press conference held by ISU. ) Would you please add Mr.サンデーHERO’S 合体SP before Mr. Sunday Hero's Gattai Special? I am sorry that I forgot to give the program's Japanese title first. As to this section, I think tsukihoshi's translation is closer to what he said. In this translation "絶対" hasn't been translated but it is very important in interpreting this quote. I am not a learner or teacher of Japanese, so I am not sure if I can explain this properly, but "絶対 A だ" means something/someone should be/should do/must be/must do A. "絶対幸せが来るんだ" means "There should/must be happiness coming (after this)" I agree that the translations need proofreading, but I think you should avoid machine translation in this project because the machine doesn't know the context or the background. Besides, most of the quotes are spoken words, so they are not always in a complete or grammatically correct sentence. I think BlueFlamForYuzu's is more accurate. Here he is talking about his second OGM, which was his childhood dream, after winning it. So the subject should be "I" instead of "we" and "must go through" should be "had to go through," at least. I didn't know that Chinese doesn't have past/present tense. I guess the translations in the MAD were translated first from Japanese to Chinese, then from Chinese to English. As to quotes translated by kaerb, how about contacting kaerb? (I can type them if kaerb's OK with using her translations) As to Amino Vital CM, let me search some more.- 60 replies

It is a photo taken during The Ice 2012 in Nikko. I have no idea who the kid is, but he is probably a kid from Sendai. The Ice Nikko was a charity event, and the organizer invited kids from Sendai. (Source *See the part under the "- quick quotes from THE ICE in July")

A skater versus summer series vol.3 Wakaba v.s. summer Rough translation: Q: Do you like summer? A: I like summer. The only season that makes me thankful that inside the ice rink is cool despite the heat outside. Q: Do you go to the beach or a pool? A: I went to the beach. Q: How you spend time at the beach? A: I float forever, holding on to a swim ring or something. I would stay where the water isn't deep and float. Q: What do you want to do in the summer? A: There are fireworks displays at the baseball stadium. (t/n: Her home rink is close to Jingu Stadium) Usually, I can't see them since they coincide with my night training sessions, so I am hoping to see them somehow. Q: Can you touch cicadas? A: I used to collect their shells... Hehehe... I don't have that habit anymore. It would be yabai if I were still doing it. (Laughs)

Update from Yuna: "Lately, my doctor confirmed that I got fully healed. I could get through these 9months thanks to the doctor I was seeing, the physiotherapist who helped me in learning all my physical weak points thoroughly, Itolator that always kindly let me use their product, those who have always been supporting me, and all my fans. "Don't come back" was what the physiotherapist said to me. I am going to take that to my heart and try to enjoy my season to the full while facing my own body. To refresh my spirits, I got my ears pierced and got a manicure. Actually, I have been watching a drama called, "Watashi no kaseifu Nagisa san" (Nagisa san, my housekeeper) lately and use it as a fashion reference. Tabe chan (Mikako Tabe) is so cute~"
