  1. No. It is more than 3 5years old. See the second post of this thread.
  2. According to a video interview shared by Fuji at the beginning of July, Utashin has been training together since late January June for 2-3days a week in Okayama, Utana's home, with Shingo going there from Tokyo. The rink in Okayama has developed a bit like a training center for Japanese ice dancers in these several years, so I think there is someone who can help them as a temporary coach. But given the rapid increase of COVID-19 patients in Japan, travel between Tokyo and Okayama must be getting more difficult than in July now. Hope the situation becomes better enough for them to be able to train together at least in Japan... I am not sure what is Shoma's plan for this season, but unlike Koshiro, Shoma has a training base in Japan as well. As someone guessed earlier, he may be trying to figure out what to do after retirement here as well. He has already won an Olympic medal with which many retire. I wouldn't consider that he is in the same situation as many other young Japanese skaters in that regard. He has opened his YouTube account today, by the way. As for Rika, I am a little bit baffled to see the way people (including the Russian media) react to Rika's situation. She said she was going to work with Brian as well as Coach Hamada, and in June, she was hoping to fly to Canada sometime in July. That's all she said about going to Canada. After that, apparently, she has adjusted her plan to the situation and has been doing what she can at each moment. The info about the border closure between Canada and other countries has been constantly updated in Japanese by Japanese media and fans as well. I think she knows the situation and won't push her plan through. ETA: Fixed a typo regarding the time Utashin started training in Okayama together. Sorry for not checking enough.
  3. It's from The Ice 2012. You can find a video of the full program in the "Videos" section of this forum. "Club Can't Handle Me" is its title.
  4. This person (Chiaki Ito, the guy standing on the ice looking at Yuzu) was part of the crew shot the Gum For The Game CM. He is actually a rollerblader who has won titles in international competitions. He took part in this project as a cameraman who could shoot while skating, such as Jordan of OIP. Here is a rough translation of his comment in this photo: "Of course, (this commercial shooting) was before-corona. Well... Although I had won world titles in inline skating, it was extremely hard to run parallel to catch up with a World Champion in ice skating! Uploaded this since it was a rare photo of on and off-ice skaters together. I tried run-parallel shooting putting on a pair of hockey shoes I got just for this day. Hanyu san said, "It is incredible that you can do this since you are the only one who is skating with brand-new shoes," LoL #Our company can undertake on-ice shooting a bit."

  6. Satomi Ito's FIGURE SKATING ART COSTUMES has been translated into traditional Chinese and will be released on August 5, mainly in Taiwan. https://news.agentm.tw/120979/比-電影-傳奇-花式-滑冰-羽生結弦-自敘傳-蒼之炎/
  7. Whether it looks effective or not, training in highland is what she has been doing for these few years to learn or solidify quads and 3A. I guess practicing a jump in highland is a bit like practicing it with a harness? Even with the help of a harness or the high altitude, landing one would help to get a feeling of a successful jump. Rika isn't the only one who learned a difficult jump that way. She used to visit Colorado Springs for this purpose, but it practically isn't available for her this year. Calgary isn't an option since she can't enter Canada.
  8. It's from this documentary aired after ACI2017 https://wherespacepooh.tumblr.com/post/165776941514/yuzuru-hanyu-comments-on-his-own-iconic
  9. Probably somewhere in Toronto. As for Rika, isn't she training in Champery simply because it is in a highland? Training there would increase her stamina and help her get a feeling of quads since one can jump higher in such a place.
  10. It's nice to be able to revisit the old themes anytime, and it's so fun to reload and see which banner I get. Thank you again for the beautiful new theme! (and thank you so much for taking time to rearrange the default avatar!)
  11. On July 24, many Hanabi factories in Japan set off fireworks somewhere near their home, without gathering many people to maintain social distancing, some even without notifying exactly when and where in advance. This year, they are doing this instead of taking part in big Hanabi festivals and competitions that attract many people to encourage everyone struggling in this situation under COVID-19, and also to show the fruits of their hard work since last summer. This Hanabi is a work of Kita Nihon Hanabi based in Daisen, Akita, where Hanabi factories from the whole country gather to compete for the technique and artistry once a year. In this contest, you will find at least one or two Hanabi inspired by figure skating every year. I believe some of them like figure skating a lot because, in this competition, they are judged by how they effectively set off their Hanabi in tune with the music. This is one of such Hanabi inspired by SEIMEI. Before SEIMEI, the MC introduced the Hanabi roughly like this: The sound of Japanese drum that hits the sky The dragon flute that responds to each beat of the drum calms the raging spirits The stomp on the earth opens a new era Like a blast of wind run through gruesome darkness. "SEIMEI, a blast of wind run through the darkness" (T/n: the title of the Hanabi) After SEIMEI, the MC introduced the Hanabi factory and thanked the person who privately sponsored this Hanabi. The factory set off the thank-you Hanabi from the sponsor's friends, and then the MC closed the Hanabi display wishing they would be able to see each other again under the sky full of Hanabi. ETA: Oh, @Yukok has already translated the introduction. Sorry for double post!
  12. I am a little bit concerned about his autograph in the default avatar, though... since he seems to be using it as a sign of his involvement in things/projects.
  13. Wow! It's beautiful! I like the feathers ETA:Oh, and there are two types of banners!
  14. Ah, now I see why the crew was calling him "Sensei" and Yuzu was very friendly to him. I was wondering if he was a sempai or the most experienced among them or something. Soshi Tanaka used to be Yuzu's jump coach.
  15. I would say it has to do with the Olympics that was supposed to start today, not the opening ceremony in particular. This is a tweet by the same person, who seems to have proposed the plan of this CM. His comment: "The CM I planned especially for this day starring Hanyu Yuzuru senshu has been aired. What impressed me during this shooting was the sound of Hanyu san's blades resonating with the cold ice rink, which was awe-inspiringly mysterious. May athletes and those who have been preparing be rewarded." The narration of this CM uses the negation of negation repeatedly. I think that is because they wanted to reach out to someone who may feel what they have been doing has been negated, and Yuzu is the perfect person to embody and convey their message since people know what he has been through as well as what he has achieved, and that he is still one of the athletes who are competing in uncertainty.
  16. Not a few survivors seem to be experiencing the same thing regardless of their age. Hope she will get better soon...
  17. She hasn't updated her blog since 11th this month, but in one of her latest posts, she says her training schedule is getting back to normal. Looks like she is enjoying cooking as well. https://ameblo.jp/satoko-miyahara/entry-12609111355.html https://ameblo.jp/satoko-miyahara/entry-12610324381.html https://ameblo.jp/satoko-miyahara/entry-12601141596.html
  18. She's back in Madrid for the surgery. Hope the surgery and recovery go well. Get well soon, Sara!
  19. Thank you for your suggestions! Serene is one of the words I thought about using, but I could not be sure about how it would sound to English speakers in this context, so it was nice being able to hear your opinion. Other words can be used to describe his facial expression after he landed a jump cleanly... By the way, I spent almost a day to decide how I should deal with this 涼しげ problem. (I was the exact opposite of 涼しげ...) While sleeping on it, I was wondering if Nishikawa chose him for their Cool Sleep campaign for the 涼しげ feeling he makes people feel, not because he was doing an ice sport in cool ice rinks...
