  1. Congratulations on your unshakable addiction!
  2. I still can't believe it's really real. I'm so glad I added my voice to the sea of beggars. Those Japanese lessons were worth it just for that. Now, let's all prepare to be outraged by the camera work and editing.
  3. Notte looks more like his City of Angels costume which reminds me of a distressing dream I had about a bird a long time ago (which makes me like it in a nostalgic, terrified sort of way.) Haven't found where those two come from, you know, except from the sea. I shall keep looking, though!
  4. I've been watching a lot of Johnny this week and it's been fun playing Spot the Hanyu origins. Aside from the skating style and music choices, (they even breathe the same before beginning, it's really eerie), almost every costume is accounted for. Thank god he didn't go for the swan hand puppet for Notte Stellata!
  5. Those two really aren't hiding thier love! This is my favourite Pooh bow ever, too.
  6. Never seen a crowd so happy and giggly after their favourite skater buggers up that much.
  7. While we're on the subject of adorable falls (after the 5min mark):
  8. (I love my ava so much I'm going to supanova. I also love your ava a lot.) The costume that keeps on giving, worn again by Sota Yamamoto: Anyway, it'd be pretty cushy if you could get royalty checks for just inspiring design! Did he officially design NDP or was that another inspiration from his NDP/Ave Maria? I think I'm the only person who loves that pink, sparkly abomination. By golly, I love it. I want a Barbie doll of it.
  9. Dang TV and their dang faulty research, consarnit.
  10. Okay, so Etude is my favourite thing in the world ever and I thought whoever designed it is a complete genius. Well, maybe everyone but me knows this, but according to this program (guests include Ogi Mama, Midori Ito and Takeshi Honda) Johnny Weir is the designer?! I love him even more, now. Editty McEditface: sallycinnamon did the program's job for them #notbyjohnny. Still a good program with lots of footage of historic moments in Japanese figure skating and speculation about Hanyu's chances in Sochi.
  11. Thanks for sharing this. Good to finally start to understand about popping. I'd never watched it because I fall into a deep sleep during RJ2, though I have recently changed from hating to loving the costume to pieces. Johnny's very quotable in this one, too: "He fought his face off." "They should defintely have him on the Pooh-dium"
  12. (removed. sweetwater explained it better below) Holy crap, though. I'm so happy, I can hardly contain myself!
  13. How does he know to do it so that it fits perfectly with the most ridiculous song ever that someone will later use to make the greatest YouTube video of all time? Onmyodo divination powers.
  14. To kill as many of us as possible so getting GPF tickets will be easier for survivors?
  15. (Part of me just wanted an excuse to watch it again.)
  16. This will definitely make you feel better:
  17. Xi rain, I guess! Where do we buy Xi plushies?
  18. Oh my goodness, that rush of fans at the end! O_O I'm getting a little bit scared of going to a competition in Japan.
  19. I was watching the pre-Sochi NHK special about that last night and thinking the same thing. I don't really care about the Olympics for reasons like this. To me it's like the Oscars - many Best Pictures are forgotten and losers remain classics. Not to mention luck regarding avoiding illness and injury. I just care because my favourite skater cares and I want the dangly shiny thing he wins to be in his favourite colour.
  20. The Russian to English translation is hilarious. Walnuts for some reason.
  21. Hooked on this for the past few days. Interesting to see several moves that would make it into Parisienne Walkways later. Jeffrey Buttle seems to be the only skater who can make David Wilson choreography hold my attention (or maybe the only one that David can choreograph something like this for). They were a good team.
  22. Incredible creativity and a sense of humour you'll never find anywhere else. Gene Kelly among other celebrities took the time to write to them after the Olympics saying they were robbed. My mother took me to see them when I was young but not knowing what ice let alone ice dancing was, I didn't really understand how lucky I was. I only very vaguely remember about two seconds of the whole show. What a waste.
  23. I've watched that fancam before but never noticed! Camramen are my mortal enemies. I love that salty photographer. Crankiness is a severely underrated quality.
  24. I believe that's called a Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club Sandwich.
