    I am so over the moon that I might finally have a chance to see Chopin and SEIMEI in person. Grant my wish, Olympic gods! New music can be for exhibition. Everybody wins! (Except by nature of competition they don't.)

    This might be a clue (sorry if posted already): I'm 10000% positive after seeing this that it'll be SEIMEI 2.0, though I have a delicious hat on standby in case I'm wrong.

    That's where I found out about the Hisaishi music but didn't put two and two together with Mr Shiba, though I'm sure that part is just coincidence.

    Just realised that both pieces of music for Yuzu's last two and most amazing free skates are tied to the Nagano Olympics. Sukeyasu Shiba, the man who played the flute on the Onmyouji soundtrack, played the national anthem as part of a gagaku orchestra: Joe Hisaishi played Asian Dream Song for the Paralympics: I really hope he goes for more Japanese music this season.

    19/20 is in Montreal, I think, and 18/19 is Saitama. He better hurry or just stick around longer for the sake of the future of all mankind.

Edit 2: Shining moments is Hanyu heaven! 99% Yuzu with a small section featuring other skaters in the back. Photos from junior days up to 2015-2016 season. Sooooo many photos. Soooo many cute things. And R+J1 Yuzuru with Tororo! Some of them are great for showing the detail of the costumes. Sparkle salad looks so pretty! And I love anything with Etude photos I haven't seen before. I will be screenshotting the whole thing. For science. And posterity. (Mostly for money saving.)

    Surely he's seen the perfectly straight-faced, unblinking Yuzuru at that press conference saying he's sure he will land his dream 4A in competition. I'm sure Brian is already wearing a toupee.

    I don't know if it was the costume or the choreography or what but it seriously looked like his anatomy actually changed and his shoulders were attached just like wings. Honest to goodness like someone genetically engineered a human-swan hybrid. Unreal. Amazing. Beautiful. Neer seen such a swan-like swan, male or female, apart from real swans. (Though I've spent a lot of time doing wing physio/rehab on birds and maybe it's made me a bit mad.)

    The pattern he is wearing looks like an Edo period pattern worn by rebellious types. I think its called something like broken lattice. There's a famous kimono designer from Kyoto who gets really cranky when he sees people wearing it without knowing what it means. Watch out, young man. Edit: full pic shows it's a slightly different pattern
