Dear Calendar. Please hurry up and get to February soon. There is a certain planet that is going crazy with the current pace of time and lack of information.

If it makes anyone feel better, it is often more expensive to fly to Vancouver from Toronto than it is to fly to many parts of Europe.... flights are expensive here, very little competition to keep costs down...

This was my first thought as well. Brian has been really globe trotting recently... the last couple weeks before Olys, I hope he's home with the guys and getting them all ready to go.

OH, that is hilarious about what Brian said. So, essentially he said a lot without saying anything... I think he really enjoys not being able to say anything, playing the keeper of secrets!!

And so it begins... I"m getting the feeling that the Olympic media machine is beginning to roll a little bit more... more news tidbits etc., but with little real information at this point....

My poor short term memory can't remember all the points people made, which are all very true, so i'll throw in these too... Every year they worry about peaking and sustaining a peak.. this year, once he's healthy, he can just train hard and go for the main event...... they say he reaches peak quickly, this is one time where (again, if healthy) that will be necessary and we'll see if it's true. He will feel like he's coming from behind for each program. We know he fights best when he's behind... this time, no matter if he has a 100 point lead in the short program, he's going to have to battle hard in the long program because he knows it'll be a challenge. So basically, his back will be to the wall every step of the way... which is good for him.

I was reading the twitter and did he say he's still not gone to Niagara Falls? That is funny. He lives here.... and yet just this summer it was shown that both Marin and Mai have been there and they were here for just choreo... . You have to smell the roses sometime, yuzu. I hope, on the day far in the future when he moves back to Japan for good, that he takes one of those tourist bus tours and sees Toronto... so when he's 50 he can actually say he saw Toronto points of interest... like, even just go skating at the outdoor rink at the Toronto sign at city hall.

I like that they chose the people who made the podium. I know BOW was to be considered but no one else really had enough of that to make a strong enough case. The podium finishers made the decision easier, just as Slipchuk was hoping it would.

Akiko doesn't look anything like Yuzu, no facial similarities...unless someone smartly tells me they both have 2 eyes, nose etc I had better stop playing this game or i 'll match him up with someone and I should not do that, lol!! See? No water makes cacti crazy!

True. But Japanese people look very different from each other, just like everywhere else. Once he said she had to be a skater.. any J skaters we know that look like him?? Lol!!!

You know, the pictures of those girls all look similar... and if you look closer you will see they all look more like HIM. It is a well known theory that many people choose someone that looks like them, studies have confirmed this (I noticed it years before the studies)... not like twins, but certain similarities in features, and if those pictured are accurate reflections of his type, then well, there you go....

I think his mom would work. I really doubt he'd try to knock her off if she did...too much respect and devotion, like a good boy. And, there's also next week at Europeans... Brian will be gone for that too!! Hmmm... not sure...Yuzu... training without supervision for far too long....

I doubt Brian will be around to sit on him. He was in Korea, now he'll probably be at Cdn Nats... someone has to sit on him, but I don't know who since Tracy is probably going to be commentating this weekend on TSN... maybe his mom will do it !!

Yes, but it is still the 2017/2018 season... no reason to believe fate is done with playing around and meddling with our skaters...

That video did not bother me in the least. It was a very quick explanation of quads/tech vs. Artistry and no/ one quad and they could hardly mention everyone. I was not offended as a yuzu fan at all. I would not waste my time worrying about. It isnt meant for figure skating fans.

Am I the only one impressed that Brian can still skate that well? I think he looks just as good as Javi, or better, on the blade! i think it's done on purpose, the no Yuzu thing. Brian rarely posts any pictures of Yuzu on his instagram, unless in a group, so I think he really wants to protect him, knowing the interest that there is... that's good, but it's suffering for us.... only a few more weeks guys, and then media circus will really start and the cacti will be drowning...

I am prepared for everything in Yuzuru's case. He could be brilliant, or not so brilliant and either outcome would not be a surprise right now. If his ankle is healed and training is progressing according to the plan they've devised, then I actually think he will probably do better now than if he'd gone to the Olympics without any issues whatsoever. I will never rule Yuzu out of any competition and this situation is just another wall he has to climb over and we know he loves to climb over walls put in his way.

Yes, the Online Daily mail had an article about furious Ashley Wagner! And It was on the main page, not even sports section!
