  1. You know, only he and the team know what his status really is like right now. It could be that he's doing really well or... not. The Olympics are the goal and that's where they're going to throw it all on the line... sure, it's risky, but if he will only be ready in time for Olympics, there's no reason to try 4CC. 2 weeks can make a huge difference in being ready. It sure is going to be a wild ride for everyone... him, his team, his fans... i can hardly wait.
  2. I hope Keiji gets it. I think having a friend around at a stressful competition would be good for him. They could room together, unless he (keiji) rooms with Shoma like at Helsinki...and they could have fun together at other events etc..
  3. Agreed. Anything about Yuzu now and it'll be on the news. Best wait until the skating is done. The focus will be on him soon enough and right now Shoma and the other men should get the attention.
  4. I would (selfishly) love to see Yuzu at 4CC. I do think he needs a competition before Olys to get the rust out (the team event could serve.. but in a politikal world do you want to be showing your squeaky wheels to judges who will be judging you for gold just days later? the judges will be different, but they'll all be watching), but mainly because I want to see him as soon as possible!! Of course, I trust they will do what is best for him... it just may not be what is best for me, lol!!
  5. Yup, I want a wonderful Oys for him because that's what he wants the most. I'd sacrifice Milan in a heartbeat... although he probably would not because it determines spots for Worlds the year after....
  6. I am still not worried... that much. Sure it's getting closer, he's missing J Nats, which was his nightmare scenario, but there is a month and a half left and much can be done in that time. The other guys have definitely not shown any consistency yet this season, so it's not like they've built up momentum heading into the Games. If we wanted him to stay in his bubble until the Olympics and not face the pressure that would surround him if he was in Japan... well, that has certainly played out, although not how we hoped. I will reserve my panic until February. If his injury prevents him from being his best, well, it won't be because of lack of effort on his part to be ready... it will just be that fate conspired against him with events leading up to that unfortunate day in November. Watching that fall and how he collapsed on his leg... it's lucky he *escaped* with the injury that he did... it could have been far worse: we are still talking about him competing, and when you can compete, you always have a chance.
  7. I wonder what the plans are for him during the holidays too. He has always spent the New Year in Japan(from what we know, anyway), and during a normal year with Worlds in March if he had this injury I would expect him to go there as well.... but with the Olympics so close, and his status being so up in the air, will he think he can afford a trip back? I imagine he would really want to be there, so what wins?
  8. Oh good. Glad it is official. Just stay home and do your rehab and slowly climb that mountain.
  9. But we havent seen him for over a month... who knows what he's done...
  10. I was originally going to say the earthquake, and figured someone might bring that up, but that was more life changing and on an entirely different scale than figure skating. Edit: yay, now I am RJ!!
  11. With Christmas about a week away, I am thinking the best Christmas present for Yuzu right now is the knowledge/certainty that skating will do no harm and he is now free to progress at a careful, steady pace...
  12. This is, so far, the greatest challenge Yuzu has faced in his career. An injury that did not heal as hoped, weeks before the competition he wants the most. Fate is going to make him work hard for this, physically and mentally, but if anyone can do it, he can. I am guessing that the minor tidbit of his being on the ice is true. Knowing how much skating fans are eager for news, if I was in the position of being able to reveal that much, I would too. It doesnt give details of what was happening, it is just a brief sentence...
  13. Follow Brian... Brian is with Javi in Spain... if he heads to Japan we'll know what yuzu is doing... (although they may announce things earlier)
  14. We always want more mezamashi gems!!!
  15. I guess we will find out soon enough what the plans are for J Nats... although i think we already know and are just waiting for confirmation. And, really? Yuzu not making the team is almost like Roger Federer being left off the Swiss Davis Cup team.... lol. I have no worries about that.
  16. LOL. The picture makes her hands so big and her body so tiny
  17. Well, Yuzu may not be on the ice yet, so probably is only rarely at TCC, and if so, he's only doing the very basics most likely under Tracy's watchful and supportive eyes. Brian has to support Javi too. You know he'd be going with Yuzu to J Nats if he is/was going. Edit: Brian probably already knows Yuzu's plans, so going to Spain could be an indication of his not being needed in Toronto....
  18. Oh, yuzuru!! What a season this is turning out to be for him. Nothing going according to plan apart from his first 4lutz. I hope he takes it a day at a time, listens to his therapists/coaches/mom.... and exercises restraint in these crucial stages of rehab. Mistakes in recovery can be worse than the initial injury in terms of recovery time ... let it be slow but sure rather than quick and unstable.... someone hide the calendar....
  19. I am sure he enjoyed the birthday support from his fans and the people at TCC. They know his public life is huge, so simple and heartfelt from his coccoon safe place is perfect. I am sure it gave him the lift he was probably needing right now.
  20. I will believe that it isn't a ligament tear... and I will think positively about this injury. I hope he takes it slowly, and steadily gets stronger every day... with no needless Nats appearance ... and then, at the Olympics, he will do very well because for someone who gets very nervous like Yuzuru does, maybe having to think about something beyond the nerves etc., will allow him to be even stronger. It should be healed, but I doubt he will feel 100%, and that is when he is dangerous. When he is in "battle mode" he skates better because he doesn't over analyze, and I think with this injury he might end up being in that frame of mind for the whole Olympic competition. If so, this could be awesome. i have faith in this because of his competition personality when his back is against the wall.
  21. Probably too public/too many people around... he'd probably only do it for/with friends, lol! but, who knows what happens behind closed doors, lol. skating is one thing.. dancing is another!!
  22. Maybe it just means the article is wrong about the injury in the first place. Remember how initially people weren't sure exactly what part of himself he hurt? Well, this is the season that destiny has created for him from hurts, coach hurts, ankle injuries etc.. Don't they say you are given the amount that you can handle? We'll see, because so far in his career he has handled what has been thrown at him quite well.
  23. It's snowing right now, and has all morning... so, what is the superstition/tradition about snowing and wishing... when does one make a wish? once it starts? We're supposed to get snow here everyday almost all week, lol.... I can be doing a lot of wishing!!
