Do we know how many more media obligations are left before he can actually address his injury? I like that he keeps mentioning that there are still more technical heights to reach in figure skating, even if in the last couple of years those heights have been significantly reduced. In so many sports it seems like humans are getting closer to the maximum that can be achieved, but we are not there yet. The leap to real Nessie is much bigger than it was to 4lz which was done in 2011. I think going for Nessie really would be quite miraculous, by anyone, but if that ankle is fully healed he is the one with the potential skill and desire to go for it. He knows what toll it would take on him, yet still mentions it as his goal... so go for it, I say. He may happily (i think he will get bored fairly quickly) retire to the world of shows when the body says *no more* but until then he is the uber competitive Yuzu. Shows may showcase his wonderful skating, and give him opportunities to thank his fans, play around etc., but it is his competitive spirit that draws me to cheer for him first and foremost and I think it is what inspires him most too. I sincerely hope the body gives him a couple of years to take chances and reach for new heights before telling him it is time to take the step away. He has the luxury of taking as long as he needs to recover... he does not need to worry about losing ground to the youngsters. Everything now is bonus, I think.

He can't ride a bike? really? wow. I thought everyone learned how to do that at some point... haha. I read that he ate at McDonald's sometimes... guess more than anyone thought, lol!

Boyang looks to have the best technique for speed skating among that group, lol!! Re the arrival in Japan. Yep, yuzu looks tired, as most Olympic athletes do once it is done. Perhaps the post Olympic depression is starting to settle in... coupled with the knowledge of gloomy ankle focused days ahead... and yet another interview he has to get through before getting home to relax. I know it is very likely that he will not go to World's... and, wow, Brian having no male skater at World's!!!! It should be his least stressed championships in years! Happy to see the J curling girls team there. As a long time fan of curling it makes me happy to see the sport spreading around the world and becoming popular (and proud to see that these fast developing curling countries (japan, s korea etc) are using Canadian coaches to help learn the game/strategy etc ). It was exciting to see them on the podium.

I get the feeling that he wants to do the shows for his fans this summer and that it is a big priority for him. I think he mentioned that briefly somewhere in the gazillions of interviews we had lately. I remember thinking, "why? you have the rest of your life for shows!" It isn't a situation where he has to strike while the iron is hot, like Javi. Yuzu is secure from now until forever. He can command almost any price these days... within reason, and his fans will still adore and support him if he needs to rest. I hope he takes whatever measures are called for, even the dreaded surgery, if that is what is needed to heal this injury.

Same what? Security guy?

Really? I was looking forward to seeing them again... what a season. This team has not been 100% since Sochi, with either one or both of them having issues at one point or another. Well, good luck in her recovery phase... and no matter what happens in their future, they will always have Olympic gold and silver in their pockets... or socks....

I found him without white jacket guy!!!

I am sure they will greet him at the airport, we will get confirmation of Worlds plans, we will hear more on his injury, learn whether he is staying in japan or rehabbing in toronto... so there is still news to come... and that is before summer shows... all is not dry yet...

TCC does have curling next door to the skating rink... perfect opportunity to work on his in, or out, turn (curling terms, fyi).... if he wanted to improve his winter sports proficiency.... get those bottles turning...

Oh, came back to discover a great new banner! Well done, people!! edit: Oh n o... my little picture is now his gold medal... i don;t know how to make changes there... but it's ok
-
And the bronze medalists were older than the gold and silver medalists. And the difference in age between the gold and silver medalists was 3 years (not taking months into account)....
-
Absolutely. You know they checked, double checked, and triple checked to make sure anything used is allowed.

We really have no idea. I am certainly joking about it when I mentioned it in earlier posts.

I"m currently on strong painkillers from my recent surgery....yes, they certainly can make you happy!! Or at least, they definitely influence how you are feeling!! So, it's natural to make jokes about being on happy pills and things like that. Yuzu said he's taking strong painkillers and will stop them after the gala... hence why there's the *joking assumption* he's drugged (of course, no idea what, how much, etc..)
-
Ah, Yuzu. The boy is never satisfied for very long... which makes him who he is and it's one reason why we adore him. I can hardly wait for a healthy Yuzu. But, I have to say I enjoy the drugged up happiness we're getting at these Games!!

If true, I hope he can find someone to help him technically because he has everything else.

For me, almost everything was better at ACI, especially the 4t3t...including presentation (but it's close between them in presentation). That sp was perfect in every way.

Aw, so sad to hear this move from Toronto... but, he often spoke of missing Spain and his friends/family.... and he's achieved the goals he probably didnt think he'd ever achieve. His popularity in Spain is at an all time high... opportunities are all over the place for many of his dreams... and now he has a Spanish girlfriend... I am sure the strings pulling him home are very strong. It makes me wonder how soon the strings from Japan will pull on someone else....

I was wondering when Brian would finally add something to his instagram about his guys!! Finally. and he added one of just them too...
-
No surprise that he will attend the gala. It is his most joyous victory, he will want to perform for the first time as a 2x Olympic champion. Hopefully he will take it easy and show us beautiful skating rather than jumps that will hurt US each time he tries them!!

I would not mind him trying to win In montreal In 2020....
-
It's been said before but, after seeing that pic, Yuna and Adam leaving TCC sure opened the door for something truly amazing to happen!! Yuzu and Javi... awesome.

It can take time to properly organize a parade, after all... and make sure weather is better...

I would almost pay to see someone make Shoma hold a baby. The facial expression would be priceless... subtle, but priceless...
