At CoR most of the good seats were gone in about 20 minutes. It was stressful because we knew the exact time when they started to sell. It was hell compared to the Olympics where I was so chill, even when I had no tickets 10 days before the competition Oh yes the Chopin announcement added a lot to the drama -

Last year the announcement came out on the first day of FaOI Makuhari I think, which was the end of May. That was a bit stressful but it was nothing compared to how insane the fight for CoR tickets was. My hands were sweating and I was shaking after the experience -

I'm...nervous haha I think all EU countries, except maybe Croatia need visa for Russia, which cost around 80 EUR. The tickets for CoR weren't that cheap but everything else, flight, accommodation, food, was not too expensive. It's just the visa that is extra cost... -

We don't know the time...the decision will be made in Toronto but ISU will publish it. I just hope ISU will announce it in the afternoon (GMT), during work hours, and not at 5-6-7pm when I'll be busy -

2018/19 GP Assignments

If Korea doesn't want it it takes a bit time to negotiate with the other candidates. We'll find it soon (probably tomorrow) which country wants to organize it...and I think they'll release the assignments on Thursday or Friday, ISU won't wait with that too long. -
Guess the New Programs! (and win nothing if you do)
sallycinnamon replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
I'm a little bit late to the party but my guesses are the same as they were months ago. I thought one of his programs would be a Japanese song and I thought it wouldn't be a competitive program, but his EX. I think Haru Yo Koi would be perfect in every way and the audience in Saitama would love it so much too (I'm still not 100% sure about the translation what Fuji TV said about it yesterday, I need a confirmation but it's very likely now that it could remain his new EX) SP - something fun and upbeat, jazz or a more experimental side of pop-rock. But I could imagine a playful latin piece too - choreo by Jeff FS - a warhorse (because of the rules change and shorter free skate, I think music-wise his choice would be a bit safer here). Maybe a Russian classical music or an epic movie soundtrack? in one word: dramatic - choreo by Shae-Lynn -

2018/19 Coaching changes
sallycinnamon replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
It was announced today that Ivett Toth's new coaches are Zsofia Tokaji-Kulcsar and Andrea Major, and her new club is Vasas SC (it's a club located in Budapest). Kulcsar is a technical specialist, she sometimes works at JGP events or smaller competitions and she was the coach of Zoltan Toth, who competed for Hungary at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Major is a former ice dancer. It won't be easy in the beginning also because her coaches don't have much experience with elite skaters like Ivett, but she said earlier that she would like to focus more on school because it'll be her final year (which means, that she'll have lots of exams, especially in May/June next year). I understand that she wanted to move back to Hungary because of this, but part of me hopes that she'll have an opportunity to train abroad in the future. I wish her good luck! Ivett posted this on her instagram: 'Thank you that I can be part of the family' source: http://www.nemzetisport.hu/teli_sportok/mukorcsolya-toth-ivett-a-vasasban-folytatja-karrierjet-2642295 ETA: the first article wasn't very accurate. According to the news on the club's website, it's Zsofia and Zoltan Toth who are Ivett's coaches. -

2018/2019 Season Program Announcements
sallycinnamon replied to kaeryth's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Nino Rota's RJ would be nice, it's my favourite warhorse and it would probably suit Alena And the SP music will suit her style, too, it's just really unfortunate that Zhenya skated to the same music...comparisons will be inevitable. -

Departure and November are nice songs: Is there any info which version of R&J is it? -
Basically what @Danibellerika said, plus Plush mentioned that they met when Yuzu was eight years old (I think he said it was at a show) and Yuzu showed him how he jumped. Plush said that Yuzu could rotate his jumps very fast even then. I wrote down to a friend one mine what Plush said about the 4A, his words were this: "4.5 rotation. Quad and a half jump. It'll be very soon. I saw very good jumps from Yuzuru Hanyu. 4.5 rotation. Axel. Very close. I know he worked before...the Olympic Games and I think he'd like to make history". Plushenko talked about the 4A as it was something which could happen soon, it was interesting to hear from him. If he says something about Yuzu it's usually true... He also talked about others, I put this in spoiler because it's OT:

Magazines and Photobooks - Recommendations and Reviews
sallycinnamon replied to Lys's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
All these magazines are so good that it makes almost impossible to choose... I think the Ice Jewels photobooks are very good, I'd recommend both the 15/16 and 16/17 ones (the latter has beautiful Swan pictures, too). They have the best quality pictures of Yuzu, and the content is of course 100% him. If they'll release a 17/18 season photobook as well, then they may include some (or most?) pictures from the Ice Jewels Pyeongchang Special...+ there will be Swan pictures as well. Maybe it'd be worth dropping the PC Special now and wait a bit until they release the new photobook. Anyway, if you'd like to have a look, this user on YT uploaded videos of IJ PC Special and Figure Skaters Vol 9..magazines. I don't have Figure Skaters Vol. 10 but there's a huge Swan poster in it and I read a review of it in which they wrote that 65 out of 82 pages are Yuzu, and there are Swan and EX practice pictures too. And I also don't have the newest FS Memorial magazine but in general it's one of my favourite ones.. . it's a bit smaller in size, but has 150-160 pages and about 95% of it is only Yuzu pictures, there are always practice/SP/FS/gala practice/gala/press conf images. According to the reviews, the newest magazine also has tons of Swan pictures. This magazine is also good, about 80-90% Yuzu and has a poster in it as well. (Other magazines which have the highest quality images of Yuzu are the regular Ice Jewels magazines and Sportiva. Ice Jewels has articles, interview and pictures of other skaters too and Sportiva covers other sports so overall the Yuzu content is less...but I really like the Yuzu interviews in Ice Jewels so I have a couple of those magazines+usually they have posters too!). so..all in all, it's really hard to make a choice, but I hope if you'll like those you decide to buy
