It got me a long time to warm up to Satoko, but that Japanese-dance flair, those little movements that so emphesized the music style got me, hook line and sinker.(or whatever the saying goes)

Katelyn Osmond has possibly the most crowd-pleasing SP of them all, and even with errors, she sells it.

Zagi looks better live than on TV, I think, and her dress is amazing in the lights.

Waka is just precious, I'll be crossing fingers for her in the FS.

Caro... lol, I can't get jnto her. I just find that program boring, maybe because I don't like the song. Like, Osmond, Satoko and Zagi's programs stay in your head for a bit, they're distnguishible. Caro's... not so much.

And if I'm on the topic of undistinguishible, Sotskova's SP is totally forgettable too. Still nothing for me.

It was interesting to compare Gabby's  and Elizabet's Carmens. Gabby definitely suits the character better but Elizabet has better choreo, imo, and still does a good job.

I didn't find any American girls particularly memorable either - Mirai stood out the most to me, because of the dress.

Other highlights included Loena Hendricx (She was really great!), Laurine Lecavelier (even though her flower-girl style is not my cup of tea, she's so sweet doing it) Kailani Crane (she was possibly the first skater that actually kept pace with her music, PCS should be higher), and Ivett Toth. Ivett was actually a bit slow for this program, but she was still selling it, and she was so different! We need more rock girls to break the monotony of pink and bkue princesses. Audience was really into her, if we could, we would give her extra 10 points for the outfit alone! So glad she made the FS!

(Lol, my greatest praise went to the skater who barely qualified!)

I am happy that Ivett qualified for the FS. I missed the next group after hers and I didn't even think about that someone would skate so weak that they would get a lower score than Ivett.

About skaters of the last group:

I think this SP suits Carolina, and she interprets it very well (unlike the free skate) . Just like Satoko she has great speed and her upper body movements are nuanced and beautiful. Both her and Satoko's ice coverage is excellent too.

Caro's score is still too high but it is home inflation so it doesn't surprise me...

Satoko's program is very nice, I like the choreography and how she got into the character. But her jumps looked even smaller than on TV, they are so tiny....she jumps about 4-5 cm above the ice. :/ Her jumps also all looked UR to me except the 2A....and it distracts me from fully enjoying the whole program but apart from them, I like how she skates.

It was interesting to watch Alina after Caro. Her skating looks better in person than in TV but she looked a bit nervous/cautious today. But it is understandable, everyone is expecting gold from her and all the pressure is on her now. Her footwork is impressive compared to others. I liked her shiny silver costume a lot, it looks so futuristic. :)

Wakabond was a bit slow today and she didn't perform it as good as for earlier in the season. :'( It was still a lovely skate and I hope she can finish in or near the top 5 :) Her costume is extreme sparkly and beautiful . <3

Kaetlyn's SP is so good, and she has lots of charisma on th ice. Her flow is one of the best in the field. Shame about the mistakes she made.

Sotskova did great technically -  I have to admit that I like watching her jumps and spins. Her skating is a bit controlled but nice overall. I just hope they give her more exciting and charismatic programs next season.

I noticed that Shin Amano is tech assistant, not tech specialist so he's not the one who make the final call,

The tracing on the ice for Satton’s 3Lo looked very straight to me, so that one should be fine too. :tumblr_inline_ncmifaymmi1rpglid:

Very sad about how disappointed Wakaba looked after her scores. :tumblr_m7etfqA8wS1qb1380: I really hope she brings it in the free skate.

Right now this podium looks quite good. I would probably have Gabby in 4th (and I’m not just saying this because she liked one of my tweets, lol) and Bradie is def a little high for my liking but I try not to stress about the actual scores in ladies too much because I don’t need the extra stress. :8:

So... I missed not much by not being able to watch?

Carolina gets insane scores in Italy....

Alina is predictably off after Olys but still scores well...

Satoko skates last as usual and has URs overlooked....

Kaetlyn has errors but still scores well...

Wakaba has an error in a major comp...

I will watch on tv later, but this is just guessing from a few comments and seeing the scores.

I'm horrified, who gave her this idea? Isn't this how Yulia tried to handle puberty? These are athletes ffs and they need the nutrients and calories

I'll never forget Eteri boasting about how Yulia only eating protein shakes and vitamins, sigh.

Spoiler

Well, it's no coincidence that all Eteri's students have the same figure. What a bizarre and disturbing thing for a child to say, and to say it in public, on record, with no sense of how disturbing it really is is just... I hope that woman pays for any therapy her students will need to erase these twisted thoughts and treat any health problems they may cause. These disorders, once they take hold, never really go away.

(PS: how good was Carolina??? AAaaaah so Happy for her!! But sad for Wakaba...)
