Amano is the assistant tech specialist. Well, that explains much.

Also, J2 is Catherine L. TAYLOR. I do not know her nationality. US, CAN, AUS, UK?

sh*t you're right.... the tech specialist is Mr. Sarkis TEWANIAN :13877886:

so let's say the current standings were unchanged after the fs,in that case Japan would have the 3 spots back, right?

*i'm not saying that they will be or that i want them to be,i'm just looking at possible scenarios...

yup, to get 3 spots, total placements needs to be equal to or less than 13. 8+3=11 so its still ok. just need them to do well on fs too

Who is J4, because they scored Alina higher on PCS than Caro.

Ms. Ko-Man TING, and I can't tell her nationality.

Taiwan? Apparently was on the 2017 4CC panel, too.

I don't know who runs skatingscores.com, but they are FAST.

J2 is Australian, J4 is indeed Taiwanese.

Look at the Japanese judge getting the placement correct for the top 9. Everyone else:59227c768286a__s: The US judge, again! Tennell at 4th??? In what world??

Mouth dropped open twice today. When Carolina scored 80, and then again when they had Alina come in 2nd. She did have that iffy landing on the Lo though so I guess understandable.

But Satoko was the winner of the day for me. Granted her 3T looked UR, and her jumps weren't as impressive as the others, but her performance and flow on the ice was what captured me the most today. Happy for you Satton!

It got me a long time to warm up to Satoko, but that Japanese-dance flair, those little movements that so emphesized the music style got me, hook line and sinker.(or whatever the saying goes)

Katelyn Osmond has possibly the most crowd-pleasing SP of them all, and even with errors, she sells it.

Zagi looks better live than on TV, I think, and her dress is amazing in the lights.

Waka is just precious, I'll be crossing fingers for her in the FS.

Caro... lol, I can't get jnto her. I just find that program boring, maybe because I don't like the song. Like, Osmond, Satoko and Zagi's programs stay in your head for a bit, they're distnguishible. Caro's... not so much.

And if I'm on the topic of undistinguishible, Sotskova's SP is totally forgettable too. Still nothing for me.

It was interesting to compare Gabby's  and Elizabet's Carmens. Gabby definitely suits the character better but Elizabet has better choreo, imo, and still does a good job.

I didn't find any American girls particularly memorable either - Mirai stood out the most to me, because of the dress.

Other highlights included Loena Hendricx (She was really great!), Laurine Lecavelier (even though her flower-girl style is not my cup of tea, she's so sweet doing it) Kailani Crane (she was possibly the first skater that actually kept pace with her music, PCS should be higher), and Ivett Toth. Ivett was actually a bit slow for this program, but she was still selling it, and she was so different! We need more rock girls to break the monotony of pink and bkue princesses. Audience was really into her, if we could, we would give her extra 10 points for the outfit alone! So glad she made the FS!

(Lol, my greatest praise went to the skater who barely qualified!)

Oh. Sorry girls, but I need to get it out from my chest... Am I that terrible as a person and also as Russian that I want Alina to lose? Bcs only one that left for Zhenya (after hours of reading hate comments in her address on Russian sports site. It's ridiculous HOW much many fellow Russians hate Zhenya -_-. I just can't...) is her consistency and when Alina win T_______T. I said that. Yes, I'm really bad person T___T.

Three pooh bears (and a bunch of flowers) down, plenty more to go! But not tonight, I only have flowers left tonight!

Oh for me seeing Caro live actually changed my mind - I finally got her and the lovely edges people kept talking about. Still not my favorite, but at least I could see what the fuss was about.

Okay, well then he can be "mister !man" then. Too bad Shin Amano didn't get full rights to rule on everything.

US judge put Kaetlyn Osmond in 8th...I get that her error wasn't good, but man she wasn't that bad really.

Yeah unfortunately for all of us, an assistant can only do so much....I guess tech controller did ding it, n shin did call sotskova's urs but then, like you said, was perhaps overruled by the tech specialist.... Thats why tes dipped down and then went back up again sigh

Its weird bc I did think that had sotskova's jumps got called bradie would be in the last group hmmm 🤔 (n satton lz might get called too, but idk it was tight, also konstantinova low placement might also be taken into consideration)

Australian judge gave Kaetlyn almost as big a score as her PB from the Olympics....

Is this the former Canadian turned Australian judge from Skate Canada?

Remember, a tech specialist CALLS for each review. If it's not marked for review, it's not reviewed, regardless of whether it is URed or DGed on camera. Also, tech panel camera is not the same as broadcast cameras/angles. And tech panel must rule on a 2 to 1 majority for each element reviewed.
