The hug is when it is revealed that Nathan is not going to podium, so Yuzu hugged him after that. He probably also hugged Boyang later on too.

He's truly the best at respecting his competitors despite their differences in skating, perspectives and views. Honestly Yuzuru is so kind, too kind all the time. :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw:

Chinese New Year turned out to be quite lit this time around

Seriously it has!! I'm going to be celebrating for two happy events this weekend! (Chinese New Year + Hanyu's win)

Just ignore US media. I live in the US and that's what I do.

I'm Canadian who lives in the U.S, it was hard to miss Nathan Chen before the Olympics because of all the media hype thrown onto him (literally saw advertising for him everywhere: on the the plane, in malls, on the news, etc). I think he's a young fighter who skates his own way on his own principals, hence the deeming of the 'quad king' but it's too bad that the way the U.S. media portrays him is a long stretch of who he actually is as a skater. If he minimized the quads, got better costumes and worked on the entire program along with skating skills, he could improve as a skater. Hope he doesn't give up after this, even with controversial/negative/positive media about him.

Got to love CBC for always being reliable in showing all parts of the Olympics! :2thumbsup:

I had a bad feeling since NHK that the injury was more severe than they were making out.... I hope he'll be okay. It doesn't sound good. If it means he'll heal fully, I can live with not seeing him at Worlds. We'll just have to see. The media avalanche is going to be pretty damn crazy for the next few weeks.

does anyone have a recording of the free? or know where i can re-watch? I was too nervous the first time around to enjoy it.

Regarding still injured, maybe we should also wait on the original Japanese. The translator has been a bit iffy and missing nuances, so maybe it's not so much that it's still bad and more that he's not at 100%

As for Ryuju, he says that after he saw Yuzu's reaction at the end of his skate, he thought Yuzu must have won. That he took ownership of the competition. Also that he usually learns a lot from Yuzu, and that this time, too, he learned a lot.

That, too. He'll be flooded with media commitments and it seems like he's ready to take them on
