Unlikely. When NBC made that deal with the IOC there was no open bidding, nothing of the kind. It's extreme fudging so they have free rein. One thing that might help is that from 2022 the whole Discovery deal ie Eurosport is going full force, so perhaps they will start exerting pressure on this type of grip NBC has. Other than that, it's simply out of the organizer's hands to change this. They'd be contractually obligated to follow what IOC says. Fingers crossed ESP will end up with enough power to push too because that deal is no small potatoes either. It was over £900m iirc, and as we see, money talks.

Had some friends say they wanted to go to the skating events but they're too expensive. They're going to skiing/luge/moguls instead. SIGH. And all those empty seats!
