Did Han’s 3A get food poisoning? :(

Apparently. It's such a shame as his Axel was a thing of beauty and now seems all but gone.

I wonder if Yuzu will also be able to use other rinks, either made available by the JSF or by other arrangements.

Hopefully not as travel for Yuzuru is not ideal, way too much contact with other people and honestly, considering the timing, there's little benefit to it.

He might not need to travel outside Korea, like Kaori, though. One 40 minute practice session per day may seem too little, though it all depends on how much one trains on ice regularly. Not sure what arrangements existed last Olympics. Did Yuzuru only use the official practice sessions?

Yes and he'll be fine. Thursday has two sessions for the men, as a lead in, too. He's coming in at full speed so to say and of course, he'd be practicing on some third ice if he then took the time to go elsewhere. Overall, not much benefit imo.

I'm watching short track now, which is also in Gangneung Ice Arena, and the commentator said that a couple of days ago the ice was harder but since the figure skating TE started, the ice is softer, and some speed skaters complained about it. I hope it's true.

Seems like this is going to go back and forth....

Too hard for figure skating, too soft for speed skaters...

JSF has indeed secured an offsite rink in Seoul for Team Japan. Kaori went there already and Shoma left for it yesterday as well. I'm sure Yuzu would like to stay with Brian close by (so, likely, at the Olympic site) but at least there's also the other rink if necessary.

I feel Brian wouldn't probably let any of his athletes out of his sight just so he can keep them conditioned

I'd be more at ease knowing Yuzuru doesn't have to travel more than the bare minimum and he is under the supervision of his team all the time. I'd like him to stick with Brian in his final preparations and I don't think Brian would leave his other skaters if Yuzu goes to the TJ ice rink (maybe Ghislain would go). Also, isn't it hard to adjust to so many different ice conditions in such little time? (and there is the problem of the ice of the official rink that is going to be adjusted back and forth for figure skating and speed skating...one more thing I'm worried about:13877886:)

I guess it makes sense for skaters who have many days before/between their competitions, like those who arrived earlier and/or are doing the TE, so they would need more training over more days, but short term maybe it's better to stay put (but I have no idea of how this stuff works, so I might be wrong and worrying over nothing:facepalm:)

Isn’t it also normal to train less in the last days leading up to a competition? To make sure the muscles have time to recover or something? I’ve never trained for a competition in my life, so .

No one take this seriously please, it's just for fun but when I look like that it means that internally I'm going - oh you have got to be kidding me?! Eteri's face isn't helping, I keep cracking up at this photo
