well seeing the TE results... it's either he cursed it or slowly blessing the ice for actual mens event...

I'd say that NBC fucked up.

But because yuzu is not there, too many empty seats can be seen.. If he was there, I bet you this article wouldn't be published..

I get stupid NBC mucking with the time for 'lympics but why is World's on the same schedule? :angrypooh: Open practices start before the trains start running.

Actually, there was an article that had a good point - I forgot which one. Nathan apparently landed several quads in practice at 6am - or whenever it was, but in any case, earlier than competition time. So quads are possible - for him at least - at that hour in the morning. Also, it's not like they found out about it yesterday, they've known the schedule for over a year and had time to prepare for it. Yes, it's stupid, but I don't think this is the reason why things went as they did today. Also, I'd rather they have practices in the morning than on the afternoon or evening before the competition. That'd be even worse, IMO.

True, but at 6 am is a bit too early. I am curious if the Helsinki schedule actually worked a bit better for skaters? The main issue seems to be the back-to-back scheduling, which complicates the practices. If any of the events got a 1 day break in between, you could schedule  at a better timeline.

I don't disagree. I wake up at 5:30am everyday, but the thought of being on the ice and jumping at 6:00am alone is... :snbleh:

Wasn't the Helsinki schedule more or less the same? In terms of earliness of practices? Or were they a bit later?

But I agree that the main issue is the back-to-back competition for the Men's individual event, because it doesn't really give them a chance to unwind. Especially the top 3 after the SP, who will also have media obligations.

In Helsinki the schedule was almost the same but boys had a day of rest. SP practice as I remember started around 6 am, but last groups where around 8-9 am. Boyang didn't jump at all during his rt, Nathan, Shoma and of course Yuzu did their jumps more or less. So it's not like it's that much new. Also practice at CoR was early.

I think it's also cuz of big prices and not the main event for FS

And it might not be official lunar new year holiday yet (we start Feb 15th in China). Well for the sake of skaters, I hope Beijing 2022 puts its foot down and says, "Hi, we like the idea of drawing in local fans who won't be able to get work off because events are not going to be around our holiday break. So since men's and pairs will draw people in, how about we do Thursday Men's SP, Friday pairs SP, and then Saturday men's LP and Sunday Pair's LP. Deal with it."
