btw one of the security guards tried to maek us feel better by saying "i've never watched figure skating, and i watched this guy and just knew he was talented" (of course, we already knew that).

also he claimed some fans snuck backstage and started running towards yuzu, but then got tackled by someone? uhh, not sure if that's how it went, but things can get pretty scary, i suppose.

Aw such nice security guards.

But the rest though, intense. Seems like that fan behavior only happens abroad or in smaller comps though? Hopefully?

I love the details on this. So much less busy than Seimei 1.0. Just wish he'd chosen a different highlight color to better differentiate both costumes from afar.

The gold belt is definitely an improvement.

I think they didn't expect it to happen, so they weren't careful enough?

But I don't get that kind of behavior... yes, we want to get close to him and wants to see what he's like backstage and such, but ffs, put yourself in his shoes! >_<

Yes, I remember the guard said something like: "no one is like him or "he is different from the rest".

Yes, the belt. So shiny ❤!

Yikes @ fans sneaking backstage to run at him. wtf.

I wasn't really expecting much from his FS today. It's early days and tbh I prefer he has something to build upon. If he got a big score on his FS along with his WR is the SP I think it would put a lot of pressure on him to be perfect every time and try to raise that score or meet it at every competition. Obviously the aim is to be clean as possible at every competition but it's better to have some growing room after the first comp. That's why I wasn't really thrilled with Shoma's scores cuz it's going to really suck for him if he's chasing that score/trying to beat that score all season. And maybe mentally Javi will benefit from having a little win for the start of the season, while a silver will fuel Yuzu for COR. So long as he doesn't overtrain and doesn't pick up any injuries & lets his knee heal it's all good. Yuzu seems to be looking at the bigger picture, ACI isn't all that important. He just needs to gradually raise the level of performance as he gets to GPF and then defend his gold streak at GPF, do well at nationals and be prepared for Pyeongchang. We are in the warm-up stage of the season.

I do think the Seimei costume for today was a temporary costume, not the final product. It looks unfinished and tbh a little cheap? Like the materials look a little on the cheaper side? And that's not exactly Yuzu's aesthetic. It would seem strange to go from Seimei 1.0 to something so much less ornate. I expect he will have two different costumes at COR that are an upgrade in some way from previous versions. Maybe Seimei 2.0 will still be less busy than 1.0 but I don't think this is it. Today's one wasn't terrible but it looked kinda like a spare rather than like what Yuzuru will wear to Olympics. Idk I could be wrong.

@SparkleSalad What happened to pumpkin king?

What happened? Oh, I'll tell you what happened.

ONLY THE BIGGEST JUDGING SCANDOLO IN THE HISTORY OF FIGURE SKATING!

My boy got 6s MAX for his interpretation! I will give $1mil to whoever can give me a non-bullsh*t answer as to why the most definitive and iconic NBC program in history that made everyone who saw it relive every moment of that movie didn't deserve perfect 10s in that area! (Judges not having seen NBC doesn't count though would explain things.)

ETA Also, choreography, because it was the most amazing thing you ever saw.

Female rabbit aged 6?

I think Brian achieved what he wanted to achieve: neither Javi nor Yuzu were clean both programs, and while they won gold and silver, they're not won the way either would want to win it. It should light a fire under both of them to practice harder (and smarter in one special mushroom's case).  While Javi's not the type to be publicly kuyashii about stuff, he's not the type to feel okay about today's performance. Which would be interesting, as his first GP is against Shoma at France, no?

Love the costume. And it's only a senior B competition so it's not too bad to mess up (except those falls looked bad- and on a 3A :sadPooh:). Anyway, at least we don't have to worry about him peaking too soon.
